    What a great use for a cnc machine. Making draws with something besides dovetails. I have a template kit for doing some interesting connections, but nothing like you did or could do. I need to put my cnc to work on an upcoming draw build. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Wonder what it would look like if you did a round over router on that edge? The waves would go even more insane

    Dear Mirock,
    Yet another beautiful joint which could have adorned Honourable wife's sewing kit box!!!Go on & spoil her; there's your perfect excuse for being in the workshop. You still can't build a tank with that!. As always, very nice.Kind regards.

      Dear Mirock,
      Thank you very much for your courteous reply; indeed the Maestro ought to seriously consider doing something to justify that perfect excuse for spending all night in the workshop. I am sure Honourable wife will be delighted with the end results as Mirock never disappoints.I don't think somehow she'd like or care much for a tank yet!!!. Kind regards.

      Now it's time to get that creative noodle of yours to come up with something that will give Honourable wife a smile from ear to ear. Kind regards.

    Very good combination ... So you think that it is possible to create a angel of 60 degree to built a Box with 6 Sides? (Honeycomb, hexagon)

    • @mirockswoodshop
      @mirockswoodshop  6 лет назад

      Hmm. It is possible with longer bit. And there will be some distortion of paytern. It could be interesting

    • @wolfganggosejacob779
      @wolfganggosejacob779 6 лет назад

      Mirock's Woodshop - longer bit or thinner material. Hope, that your bit doesn't break.
      Result can be a set of Containers that fits for wine bottles like a cooler and which can be stacked at the Wall or in a bunch of hexagons like a picture at the wall. Or with frech cleat like a stair moving up or down.
      But this is a big project

    OK, Nice. But now instead of a straight bit use a dovetail bit. This would be another nice execution. Also change the sizes of the dovetail to trick people in believing they were hand cut.

    • @mirockswoodshop
      @mirockswoodshop  6 лет назад +1

      Dovetail cant be moved in by wave trace , just straight way. But it can be inclined straight for example. CNC gives some additional opprtunities but from other side it takes other of them away. Anyhow this matter requred further investigations

    • @Volte6
      @Volte6 6 лет назад

      Decorative joinery is very common, but typically kept simplistic because complex decoration is very difficult.
      With CNC technology, the precision is possible to get reliable decorative joinery.
      Look up dovetail joinery for example, typically a weaker and more complex joint than a box joint, but considered to be more attractive.
