Dollar general had these large, medium and small velvet trees I just had to have! I searched online and said two in stock by me - well 3 stores later - I got two large and two small
Velvet green ones! So diff than how I normally decorate, but I can’t wait to see how it looks this year! I also got gold bells and a gold and white metal tree!

I remember when my husband and I were first starting out. I wanted christmas pillows so bad, but it was just not in the budget. I went to Dollar Tree and got some of the Santa hat chair covers, and they fit over my throw pillows and looked so cute!

Fall & winter are super busy cleaning/decorating holiday wise for us! We love Halloween (think cutesy not in any way scary), so that goes up after OU Texas Red River Rivalry (we’re big college football fans) weekend & our anniversary. I also layer in decor for Día de Los Muertos (which we observe along with All Souls Day) so it’s a little easier to get ready for back to back holidays. That comes down to then get ready for my twins’ birthday right before Thanksgiving before getting ready for Thanksgiving. On Black Friday, we decorate for Christmas to be ready to celebrate the beginning of Advent & St. Nicholas’ feast day on December 6th. I take everything down the weekend after Christmas to get my hubby’s birthday going on New Year’s Eve… I take January & most of February off to recover before my daughter’s birthday 😂

We always try to make decorating for Christmas a fun event to look forward to. I like doing it on the weekend so we can do outside decor/lights in the morning or early afternoon so I can work on it when it’s brightest out. Then we work on indoor decor after that.

My favorite part of our whimsical tree is the giant white balls with red and green polka dots (just like yours). I wanted to grab a few more this year but hobby lobby isn’t carrying them this season😩

I'm not keen on the really large tree ornaments myself but your christmas decor looks lovely. It makes a change to be able to see the tree with the ornaments as I see everywhere people putting that much ornaments, ribbons and flower picks on their trees that you can't even see the tree anymore...what's the point of that? Anyway I am itching to get my stuff out but I have to wait as I want to get some flocked branches to spruce up my original tree rather than buy a new one

It always looks very festive, I'm all for decorating early but I'm older and it takes me awhile. Won't your kids think it's strange at Halloween your decorated for Christmas. I would have never done that with little kids.
The really love the Christmas decor and could care less about Halloween so it works for our family.
