      Wow!!! Tysm!!!! The tip for keeping the sensor from falling off is awesome!! And the tip before that!! Tysm!! For anyone reading never call in for a replacement of more than 2 sensors. Bc they have a HORRIBLE phone process with hard to understand Indian workers who are very rude (any other workers are really great, helpful and sweet) from my experience and it takes over an hour answering the same exact questions and it's just very long and unnecessary imo, but after doing that I waited to call in until I had to. I had 6 sensors either fall off after 2 to 3 days, 3 that never worked and the reader was horrible, the touchscreen was broke or something bc it had to be touched a million times to get it to work, but I called them, I was told 6 sensors and a new reader was on the way
      A few weeks later I called back the guy said I'm not going to lie to you, the lady never finished the order, idk why but I'll take care of it for you and overnight it. Well 5 days later, yeah no overnight, I was called after receiving the package to tell me "the higher ups" didn't approve of 6 sensors, all your getting I'd 2 and a new reader. I said ok I need to speak with management bc at 250 bucks each I better receive at least 2 more or I'm calling the HEAD people not your "higher up" which is the most unprofessional way I've heard management called. He then tells me, there's no one here atm you can speak with but I speak for the higher ups and all of a sudden he's now management after a few more words, he then says you can try to talk to whoever you want they are all going to tell you the same thing and that's your getting just 2 sensors. I said why, is it bc i waited to report them? And he said yes. So they didn't believe me bc i reported them all together!!! I didn't know at the time that you could easily and quickly report it through the internet!! If I saved the packages which I threw away per the instructions of the first rep I would just go there and do it again that way but I no longer have the info!! So if anyone knows a number that I can speak with managements boss, please leave it for me!! This call was so unprofessional and rude by a man who called himself "Jason" when I asked his name and I can tell you, his name is definitely not Jason! I'm not a hater of India, of Indian people, let me please make that clear. I don't prefer to deal with the rude guys that have issues treating women properly that come from India or may still be there answering calls for Libre. These people know their sensors fall off constantly so this should not be an issue to get mine back. It's making me rethink wearing it and maybe going to another brand. I hope you all have better experiences with customer support and with the sensors. I have one on now and all is good, thankfully. I guess the box of stuff they initially sent me was all bad, maybe it sat out in the 100 degree weather too long, in the post office truck bc i picked it up from my ramp 30 seconds after it was left there and door was knocked on bc i saw him walking away. Maybe the issue idk but we'll see how these 2 go. The reader is much better than the last. 😊

      The trick for improving accuracy is awesome and I'll definitely do it next time and my favorite hack is number 2 keep from falling off!!!! I'm buying that stuff in just a second after sending this message and I pray it works for me!! I'm in Crazy hot & humid Florida and I can't keep these sensors on, I literally have masking tape wrapped around my arm on the sensor, which I keep checking bc once the tape looses it adhesive then I know the masking tape will unfortunately pull the sensor out of my arm. So fingers crossed 🤞

I like the hack about soaking a new sensor the 24 hours ahead of time.; Will try that if I remember, haha. Nice to know that you are a type 1 also so you what we are all dealing with. I have found in my 50 years of dealing with t1d that many healthcare providers treat you like they know all about your issues when the are not diabetic at all and can't possibly understand all the ins and outs of taking care of diabetes 24/7. Thank you so much, Scott! I'm only a minute into your video here and you've provided the answer I was seeking. This is my first time wearing any CGM and I've only been wearing my FL3 for about 17 hrs. Last night, 1.5 hrs after going to bed, I was woken by the app "low glucose" alarm which I knew immediately was false, but took a manual reading at that time with a strip reader just to be sure, and wow, it was way off. The app never registered that low reading on the graph or 'time in ranges'. If other users are reporting inconsistencies, inaccuracies, false alarms in the first 24 hours, that gives me hope and I'll be patient and hang in there. I knew, prior to trying a CGM, that there could be inconsistencies between the CGM readings and my manual glucometer and I found that to be true yesterday, but I didn't know that the FL3 could be off during the first 24rs. This morning I noticed the two meters are now giving consistent results - I've taken 3 manual reading for compaison so far and they match the FL3, so I'll be patient and wait.

    I'd recommend the bandage patches. I used to regularly knock of the sensor, being large and clumsy. Doesn't happen any more. They last about 12 days, but when they're off, the sensor is still stuck on hard because it's been protected all the time.

    I used the skin tack product but have once had the little filament not go through the skin properly, seems to have “caught” on it’s way in. I use it around the edges if I notice the adhesive giving way. Your cloths stick to it and to the skin tack that you get on the sensor itself, so be careful to only apply at the edges.

    Where do you find the serial number required to summit a request for a replacement sensor? When I put in the serial number from the bottom of the sensor package, it gives me an error message. The message states this is not a correct serial number. I even tried the number on the sensor where you break open the sensor case. but same error message. Any help would be appreciated.

      So a horizontal line still indicates a change in glucose levels, just a slow gradual one (Less than 0.06 mmol/L (1 mg/dL) per minute). Slow changes are normally a good sign that youre keeping your glucose levels fairly well controlled so you must be doing something right!

    • @diabetesdailydigest
      @diabetesdailydigest  2 года назад +1

      Unfortunately there is no way to calibrate the current Libre sensors as they come factory calibrated. Even the new Libre 3 has no way to calibrate. Dissapointing as both the Dexcom G6 and G7 allow for calibration which I feel is an essential feature.

    • @ChrisStrahan
      @ChrisStrahan 2 года назад +2

      @@diabetesdailydigest I thought not (I did a trial of it) and that is a HUGE game changer. If it is off, then your pump is delivering incorrect basil rates. NOW, if it is close to Dexcom, that happens about 1 in 4 sensors. That can't happen. If you are in tight control, you need that cgm to be dead on. Low 70
      High 250 (I think)
      You can change these presets, but Low should not be below 70. I keep mine at 75 so that I know when I am going low and catch it before it hits the 60's.

      That is so awesome. I wish that were the case here in the US, sadly it can be quite expensive for some people.

      That's not correct, they are not free for people with type 2 in Australia. Only for certain client groups who have type 1, but they have to meet the requirements set out by government.

      @@jc10907Sealy My insurance won't cover. It cost me $149.79/month. 1st sensor fell off day 11. Second sensor I used Skin Tac. Put it on Sunday. Wed around 5pm I received a critical alarm saying it wasn't working and to replace it. I had already disposed of the boxes w/serial numbers so I can't fill out the online form.
