I was fortunate enough to have seen the Passion Play tour and Too Old to Rock and Roll tour. Remembering when Ian had a great vocal range. But he's still touring and still gives it all he's got now at 74. The man is amazing.
Hey rocky, can you explain better how you count or understand this? I'm a drummer in tribute band for tull and were trying to do this piece and I can't quite understand what barrie is doing here!
Saw the Warchild show live in Newport News, VA. I only remember the enormous flash “balls” hanging from the rafters for war-like effects, and the giant balloons at the end. Oh, and Ian playing a sax (alto?) for a brief moment. The rest is a blur thru a haze of what my brilliant brother in-law said was “safe to take”…. This after 3 of is hitched a ride in an Beetle with luggage in the back after “bro’s” car broke down on the busy interstate highway a few miles from the arena. Ah the 70’s 🙄
I went to this tour. First I saw Benefit. Thick as a Brick. They skipped Philadelphia for Passion Play. Cause. Well I’ve told the story enough. Saw War Child. A few after. An well. Now I saw Martin. Fantastic show. Wish they’d do it together. Oh well
@@MattyIce29 cause at the end of thick as a Brick. Someone threw something. It’s that simple. Actually it hit Ian in the throat. A can some say. I wasn’t close enough to see what it was. He said right in time at the end. To be thick bam. As a fuckin brick like you. I hate this place. Where are we? Philly. We won’t be back next year. I’ll give him this. He’s a man of his word. Shame we all paid for one a holes actions.
In and out of the front door ran 12 back door angels Marilyn Monroe Farrah Fawcett. Sharon Tate. Dorothy Stratton. Jen Teal. Susan Oliver. Marilyn Chambers. Elizabeth Montgomery. Veronica Lake. Shauna Grant. Frances Farmer & Kayden Kross
This song is masterful in how to stops and starts, and stops again, and starts again, again and again. Brilliant.

Warchild is a great album, in my top five Tull records.
agree a very good album. Lots of not well known tracks such as this and Sealion

Why did they skip Philly in 73?

I miss "think I sit down and invent some full, some Grand Court Jester"-part on the end.
