The Making of a Handmade Orrery

  • This video details the process I used to make a small batch of orreries. This is my 'Orrery Model 1', which has 8 planets plus Pluto, and each planet has a fairly accurate relative orbit period. This is powered by two AA batteries, and can run several hours.
    Currently, this is the only orrery fully assembled, but I made enough parts to make 8 more. Each one will be priced at $1,250. As you can see in this video, these have a lot of precise moving parts, and with the amount of time it takes to make each one, I cannot ask for less.

      @@sprinklecreations4321 I hardly ever make more than 5 parts so every once in a while I'll take a job of 300 parts or so and I almost always regret it as I'm just a small 1 man shop so I feel ya
