    wow that Dactylorhiza amazing...i want one...i stumbled onto a patch of this growing wild a couple years ago in Tuscany and knew it was an orchid and instantly fell in love with it..wasn't maculata cause i'd have remembered the leaves but was similar color.didn't even think you could grow them so now i need to find some..love all your updates and your greenhouse but something is terribly wrong if you miss the blooms on any of your plants..maybe too many LOL..thanks for sharing

    A general question about orchid blooms. Is there any tips on keeping an orchid bloom from fading once it starts to bloom or at least helping to prolong the intensity of color when the blossoms first open? For example, if a cattleya starts to bloom and you bring it inside and keep it out of bright light, will that slow down the orchid bloom from fading? Curious minds want to know😄

    Dear Brad, this is my first year with my greenhouse. It is from Arcadia with polycarbonate triple wall sides and double wall tinted roof.I keep intermediate temps of 78FH -82FH day and 55FH -58FH nights. Humidity is at 70-75% . I have very good air movement (4fans). I am running into a great deal of condensation. I notice that you have polycarbonate walls ,BUT you also use large bubble rap. Do you think that if I installed bubble wrap inside I would cut down on the condensation ? Also it must be a great help with extra insulation.
    Would appreciate any input/advice.
    Love watching your tutorials!
    Much Thanks from (as I write this)--Blizzard and very cold 7FH -Shelter Island New York)

    I hear you and other orchid growers talking about giveaways but I never see how I could get involved. I never see links or anything. I heard you say something about a page but I didn't quite hear what page you were referring to.

    I can grow easily many orchids but my Nepenthes puzzled me! They grow big but they don't produce pitchers... It's a question of humidity or light?

    do you sell any of your nepanthes? I'm in Ontario and would love a little red cupped one with some red and green moss in it. would be a first time for me to get one.

    What do you feed your Nepenthes?

    • @alsldoekd
      @alsldoekd 7 лет назад

      Sherry Walker the plant gets 99% of its energy from the sun. The frogs and bugs give it phosphorus and nitrogen. Thats why. Its a common mistake. I work to hard on science lol
