It looks like they moved the Pole Position game out by this time. It used to be in the middle row, right at the back. There did appear to be some kind of sit-down game in the center of the middle row but I don't think it was Pole Position. Thanks for the memories of all the quarters I blew in the Playhouse, lol! Good times!
I remember one sit-down in the middle was Mach 3, somewhere around 1983? They also had a sit-down Star Trek for a little while. The first game I ever remember playing there was "Turbo"... which was either a Pole Position knock-off or a predecessor. It was on the back wall
Wow! Awesome arcade. They even had 4 of my favorite arcade games there at the time of this video, which are Hang-On, Street Fighter II, Galaga, and The Simpsons. I bet they probably had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, because that game was everywhere. I wonder if they ever had any Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct games in there when it was open because Mortal Kombat is my #1 favorite fighting game of all time. Street Fighter being my #2. Killer Instinct being my #3. I miss arcades like that. I never visited this mall because it's too far away from my area. It sucks this mall is the way it is now.
WOW! this is unbelievable, i thought i'd never be able to see that place the way it was. thanks for this incredible footage of a major part of my childhood!
Every time we went to Signal Hill I begged to go into the arcade. Great memories.
I remember going there in the mid-90s. It had a Space Jam pinball machine and The Simpsons game. I miss those days.
Ahh the sounds of an ambient arcade, and the many "Hadoukans" that are frequently sprinkled within it!
That and the trumpeting of the elephants in Dhalsim's stage

Whoever put in that monitor on Galaga had it upside down!
crazy, i never noticed that. i used to play that machine....
I just notice the text being upside down. Normally your ship would be at the bottom of the screen, not the top!
this is actually from 1992 since Football Frenzy (the first game seen on the neo-geo cabinet in this video) came out that year.
@dmfranklinkane i am going to use some of this footage for my Signal Hill video, crediting you of course, GREAT FOOTAGE!

Man can we just go back to this time and stay there lol
i really miss that arcade had some fun times in my youth there.
I only wish the footage was from 1982 when the arcade was full of cigarette smoke and lines 4 deep to play Pac Man and Dig Dug.
Now that mall has gone down hill. It's pretty sad..
Back when claw machines weren't rigged. Ahh those were the times
tears....
