In 1998, I did a timelapse of a Delta 737 being stripped, painted white, then painted in Powerpuff Girls livery. I used an Arri 35-3 with an intervalometer and 100 speed reversal stock. The camera and equipment rental was likely over $2k for the week, then a few hundred for film processing then a few thousand for the telecine processing. Now, all this is easily accomplished at higher resolution with smart phones from multiple angles. It seems like yesterday but 26 yrs is a long time in the tech space
Maybe the painters come from other countries. So either they are bored and just want to work alot or they earn so little that they have to work so much and have no money to spend in another country anyways....
