EA and Ubisoft are the best examples of what happens when the $$$ becomes more important than the game. This is why Indie games are taking the driver's seat, because the developers actually care about making a name for themselves, and developing a good game.

Everyone who is mad about halo 5 being on year, read this. Sure, the multiplayer is good, but halo used to be a story-based game. Then 343 happened to come along, they made the the game multiplayer-based. They also added the micro transactions. It's just that halo used to be AMAZINGLY with great story, now, it's slowly shaping up into CoD.
Halo been about the multiplayer since the very beginning. Though I will agree that the story is also a selling point, the only reason it's still relevant is the multiplayer. Of corse Microsoft has been pissing off the community for a while what with their arbitrary refusal to let the game come out on PC and the fact that they released a free-to-play version of the multiplayer... ...that is only available in Russia. -_- I think Halo has been circling the drain for a while now. It's just now the public is starting to notice.

+Gaming4Dayz I always did enjoy the campaign but it was never the reason why I kept playing Halo. Not even close. It was decent but to say it's 'amazing' seems a bit strange to me. I honestly felt somewhat underwhelmed by it. Ramping up the difficulty certainly helped the experience. But when I got into the multiplayer I couldn't stop playing it and had almost no interest at all in playing the story anymore. Sure it's a bonus if the game has a good story but tbh I would rather they focused more on polishing the multiplayer. If they could make both an amazing campaign and multiplayer then great. But honestly after buying the game it quickly became clear that it's best feature was the multiplayer by far. If I had to guess that's the case for most people who play Halo.

+Sean Walsh Campaign is always forgettable on Call Of Duty. I actually enjoyed the multiplayer and had a blast. The specialists were a great new addition. The multiplayer maps are colorful and look great. Most COD maps look black and brown and zero color or lofe to them. The Zombies mode is a lot of fun as well. They tried a lot of things and ,in my opinion, succeeded. Treyarch did an amazing job with Black Ops 3.

Ubisoft will make the list again with The Division as well. I would say Quantum Break might make the list too, as it had a lot of wasted potential, but the real meat of game releases are coming up this month thru the end of the year, so there may be a couple better contenders over the horizon.

Fallout 4 definitely was dissopointing, but it doesn't mean it was bad. Personally it's mechanics wise and story wise one of the best to date. But it's replay ability is so freaking low it's stupid. Fallout 3 10 playthroughs, New Vegas 30 playthroughs 4 I have one. I have no need to do another playthrough and I'm sad about it.
Infinity Ward, the original IW that is, developed COD and COD2, and the best game in the series, COD 4: Modern Warfare. Treyarch did the lesser b-games in the series to fill in the gaps while IW were working on the more solid titles in the series. Of course, the original IW was disbanded after MW1 much like what happened to Rare after Perfect Dark. Your welcome for the history lesson in gaming.
I think Ubisoft was the most impressive at the Game conventions last year but they have a habit to false advertise so Idk. Looking forward to Ghost Recon though. IMO that game never disappoints.

AK on PC is dreadful AK on Consoles is alright. Its certainly not impressive, but its lots of fun, and a generally satisfying game at $60 bucks (even though I got it for $20)

Rainbow six seize didn't disappoint me at all, the game exceeded my expectations for a Ubisoft pic game ( I mainly played bf4 before this). The micro transaction system is not in your face at all, and it is very very very easy to earn renown ( the games currency ) . It launched with a few bugs( not game breaking bugs like bf4 at release, more of an annoyance such as after dying your player falls through the world map) but Ubisoft fixed those bugs with 4 patches in the first month of release. that's why I waited 3 weeks before purchasing. This is a very balanced tactical counter strike style shooter

I loved Syndicate. It was so fun to me with the way you could zip around the city, the twins are fun as all hell, and the new weapons were pretty kick ass. Not to mention the fighting mechanics in this game were AWESOME
I knew Battlefront was going to be massive disappointment the second I learned there would be: No Clone Wars era. No Campaign. No Space Combat. And no real single player in general. Thank God I didn't spend money on this.

No thats not it at all. I have a vast collection, of games. Nes to Game cube, Saga Saturn to PS4 and 360. I'm not hating on FPS I just think there needs to be a more veritety. There is quite a bit your right on that. I wouldn't mind see a change in pace or a game where the villain wins. Something to that nature that refreshed the FPS category. I would say that ff7 remake will do that to the rpg but I think Xenoblade Chronicles X might have a head start on them with that.
Battlefront has made me realise that there needs to be strict regulations on DLC. It's basically robbery that we all accept. I can't believe that I'm going as far to say that this needs to be taken into consideration for regulation by government. It's a fucking joke. Before a game gets released, it should be passed through some government officials (or whatever) and tested. Just to see if the price they're asking, matches up to the content the game has. How much DLC the developer plans to release, should also be taken into consideration.
That's what critics are for... except that in the gaming industry, many critics are completely in the industry's pocket and not truly independent journalists with journalstic integrity. What we need is not government checks on art (it would be the same as saying "yo, 15 million is far too much for this van gogh, you're not allowed to sell it for that price", what we need is to work on ways to get rid of corruption and bought reviews (and fake reviews).

As long as people continue to pre-order games based on hype/previews and buy DLC they will continue doing as they are, everyone talks about boycotting games etc but they still buy them so nothing will change the only thing that will bring about change is for people to vote with their wallets,. You can't expect an external authority to regulate game content if a game has little content but is overpriced then don't buy, it would be no different to any other overpriced consumer product. Likewise if your pre-order based on false promises more fool you, just like people who buy into 'pre-alphas' that remain in a perpetual pre-alpha state.
I appreciate Angry Joe having the sense to make this list separate from worst games. Too many times people will say "this games sucks" only because it doesn't live up to the expectations of the game they like.
Assassin's Creed is like a highschool QB: a little awkward in middle school because he hasn't fully grown into his body, but he showed a lot of potential (AC1), was supremely impressive after puberty (AC2 and Brotherhood), got to college and went crazy with the freedom and got overwhelmed at the size and scope of it all (Revelations), got kicked out of school for streaking naked through the campus while piss drunk (AC3), made a shocking, successful comeback in junior college after reinventing himself (AC4BF), then finally failing again because he went back to his old ways rather than staying innovative (Unity). Syndicate was an improvement over Unity in every way, yes, but it didn't do enough to innovate like Black Flag did. Evie Frye was a good character (maybe that's my dick talking because she's bad as hell), but the guy (I can't even remember his name he was so damn boring. Jacob?) was so utterly boring I was wishing we had Arno back. The story moved really, really quickly at the start, it felt unnatural, and the historical figures felt unbelievably forced, as if they were just checking boxes. Hopefully the extra year of development time will let them make a better game.

Jacob for me was an enjoyable character to be as, especially during events around free roam he offered a lot and Evie I found to be very intriguing since she was laid out to be the brains of the two.

Jackson T. It has lots of mods. I would download the ultimate clone wars mod and the conversion pack which are big mods. and more are coming everyday. For individual maps, i would recomend Tatooine at war, Suun ra desert city and Kashyyyk episode 3 map. Obviously you need the unofficial v.13 patch for this. I would reccomend to go to BattlefrontJD's channel, he uploads weekly mod content. Unfortunatly, filefront is down but gamefront and a site called modsDb aren't. JD also puts links of the mods in the description.

You know Joe complained a lot about the Warden being reused(not defending Halo 5, don't even have an xbone), but he didn't complain about MGSV spoiling all of the enemies before you started a mission, and didn't complain that the "skulls" were used about 8 times, oh and how about Chapter 2 just being a repeat of chapter 1?
I played mgsv soooo much the gameplay is so fucking amazing and I loved playing every second of it......I spent like 4 hours on the first mission my first time playing just trying to get a perfect stealth rank.....but that's it.....everything else is garbage the story sucks I hate all the buddy's except quiet (even tho she won't shut the fuck up hummmmm hmm) and you know what happens at the end....it was a 10/10 at some times and a 3/10 the rest.

So apparently there is a Single-Player Campaign for Battlefront, but it was cut so that they could rush the game out the door in time for The Force Awakens.
the moment I knew ea was making battlefront, I knew it was going to be a dissapointment. I heard for over a year my friends talk about how "great" it is to see their childhood franchise rebooted, and how it was going to be great playing the multiplayer on console. When they played it, they did literally everything they could to defend it. And, even to this day, one of my friends keeps trying to make a case for it being _better_ then the originals
I can't understand how anyone could defend it, or say it's better. It has graphics, but it's worse in nearly every other way when compared to Battlefront 2. I might play it over battlefront 1, but that's more due to the original's age than the new one being any good.
Solid list, I agree with all of them except for Mad Max. I liked that game a lot even if it did get repetitive. I just loved the atmosphere and look of the Mad Max world and the gameplay was tight.
it's still an empty boring world compared to others this year sure the atmosphere was nice but games like The Witcher, Fallout 4 (even though engine is dated), And MGS V have put so much life into a world even it's filled with death and dread they're is still a considerable amount of effort that made you feel a part of that world compared to Mad Max. It's decent to an ok game but its far from great at all.

The sad thing about Battlefront is that all of the people I go to school with think it is the best Star Wars game ever released. The funny thing is that they all have one thing in common except for one person, they have never played the previous Battlefronts. The one person who did play the previous Battlefronts is one of the most Star Wars fanboyish type of person I have ever met.
Fallout 4 was my most disappointing game of 2015. Bethesda had taken their games to new levels every time they stepped up to a new generation of consoles, but this time they really blew it. It was boring. I tore into that game for the first week, haven't touched it since. I just found myself experiencing the same generic content over and over again. It was poorly optimized for PC, and the game engine is beyond outdated. Haven't even bothered creating texture mods for it.

scrapie22 Pretty much, I would put it at 8 or 9 for me, nowhere near the big hitters, but it was certainly memorable. I remember a lot of the locations, one of my favorites is the buried church in the desert. The atmosphere just sold me on that so much happened here, but the result was clear. Mighty boats beached forever because of the receding tides, coral reefs now becoming mountains. All the crashed planes, reminded me of some of the really good locations in the Fallout series. It just oozed Mad Max, that was its greatest strength. Oh, and there was no hope to be found, not even close. Fallout can be hopeful, any sign of hope is utterly crushed.
Yeah the new Battlefront was the most disappointing for me. I tried the beta and was tired of it within the first hour. I loved the first two so much that this new version was a real slap in the face.

Fallout was good. Not as good as NV but better than 3. For the first time in a while I didn't absolutely despise my companions and they added an equip item option for companions something that I couldn't understand why it wasn't in skyrim

Everyone who is mad about halo 5 being on year, read this. Sure, the multiplayer is good, but halo used to be a story-based game. Then 343 happened to come along, they made the the game multiplayer-based. They also added the micro transactions. It's just that halo used to be AMAZINGLY with great story, now, it's slowly shaping up into CoD.

I honestly felt somewhat underwhelmed by it. Ramping up the difficulty certainly helped the experience. But when I got into the multiplayer I couldn't stop playing it and had almost no interest at all in playing the story anymore. Sure it's a bonus if the game has a good story but tbh I would rather they focused more on polishing the multiplayer. If they could make both an amazing campaign and multiplayer then great. But honestly after buying the game it quickly became clear that it's best feature was the multiplayer by far. If I had to guess that's the case for most people who play Halo.

+Sean Walsh Campaign is always forgettable on Call Of Duty. I actually enjoyed the multiplayer and had a blast. The specialists were a great new addition. The multiplayer maps are colorful and look great. Most COD maps look black and brown and zero color or lofe to them. The Zombies mode is a lot of fun as well. They tried a lot of things and ,in my opinion, succeeded. Treyarch did an amazing job with Black Ops 3.

Fallout 4 definitely was dissopointing, but it doesn't mean it was bad. Personally it's mechanics wise and story wise one of the best to date. But it's replay ability is so freaking low it's stupid. Fallout 3 10 playthroughs, New Vegas 30 playthroughs 4 I have one. I have no need to do another playthrough and I'm sad about it.

Infinity Ward, the original IW that is, developed COD and COD2, and the best game in the series, COD 4: Modern Warfare. Treyarch did the lesser b-games in the series to fill in the gaps while IW were working on the more solid titles in the series. Rainbow six seize didn't disappoint me at all, the game exceeded my expectations for a Ubisoft pic game ( I mainly played bf4 before this). The micro transaction system is not in your face at all, and it is very very very easy to earn renown ( the games currency ) . It launched with a few bugs( not game breaking bugs like bf4 at release, more of an annoyance such as after dying your player falls through the world map) but Ubisoft fixed those bugs with 4 patches in the first month of release. that's why I waited 3 weeks before purchasing. This is a very balanced tactical counter strike style shooter
Oh and all of the in game dlc is free not locked behind a season pass at all

I loved Syndicate. It was so fun to me with the way you could zip around the city, the twins are fun as all hell, and the new weapons were pretty kick ass. Not to mention the fighting mechanics in this game were AWESOME
I knew Battlefront was going to be massive disappointment the second I learned there would be: No Clone Wars era. No Campaign. No Space Combat. And no real single player in general. Thank God I didn't spend money on this.

No thats not it at all. I have a vast collection, of games. Nes to Game cube, Saga Saturn to PS4 and 360. I'm not hating on FPS I just think there needs to be a more veritety. There is quite a bit your right on that. I wouldn't mind see a change in pace or a game where the villain wins. Something to that nature that refreshed the FPS category. I would say that ff7 remake will do that to the rpg but I think Xenoblade Chronicles X might have a head start on them with that.
Battlefront has made me realise that there needs to be strict regulations on DLC. It's basically robbery that we all accept. I can't believe that I'm going as far to say that this needs to be taken into consideration for regulation by government. It's a fucking joke. Before a game gets released, it should be passed through some government officials (or whatever) and tested. Just to see if the price they're asking, matches up to the content the game has. How much DLC the developer plans to release, should also be taken into consideration.
That's what critics are for... except that in the gaming industry, many critics are completely in the industry's pocket and not truly independent journalists with journalstic integrity. What we need is not government checks on art (it would be the same as saying "yo, 15 million is far too much for this van gogh, you're not allowed to sell it for that price", what we need is to work on ways to get rid of corruption and bought reviews (and fake reviews).

Assassin's Creed is like a highschool QB: a little awkward in middle school because he hasn't fully grown into his body, but he showed a lot of potential (AC1), was supremely impressive after puberty (AC2 and Brotherhood), got to college and went crazy with the freedom and got overwhelmed at the size and scope of it all (Revelations), got kicked out of school for streaking naked through the campus while piss drunk (AC3), made a shocking, successful comeback in junior college after reinventing himself (AC4BF), then finally failing again because he went back to his old ways rather than staying innovative (Unity). Syndicate was an improvement over Unity in every way, yes, but it didn't do enough to innovate like Black Flag did. Evie Frye was a good character (maybe that's my dick talking because she's bad as hell), but the guy (I can't even remember his name he was so damn boring. Jacob?) was so utterly boring I was wishing we had Arno back. The story moved really, really quickly at the start, it felt unnatural, and the historical figures felt unbelievably forced, as if they were just checking boxes. Hopefully the extra year of development time will let them make a better game.

Jacob for me was an enjoyable character to be as, especially during events around free roam he offered a lot and Evie I found to be very intriguing since she was laid out to be the brains of the two.

Jackson T. It has lots of mods. I would download the ultimate clone wars mod and the conversion pack which are big mods. and more are coming everyday. For individual maps, i would recomend Tatooine at war, Suun ra desert city and Kashyyyk episode 3 map. Obviously you need the unofficial v.13 patch for this. I would reccomend to go to BattlefrontJD's channel, he uploads weekly mod content. Unfortunatly, filefront is down but gamefront and a site called modsDb aren't. JD also puts links of the mods in the description.

You know Joe complained a lot about the Warden being reused(not defending Halo 5, don't even have an xbone), but he didn't complain about MGSV spoiling all of the enemies before you started a mission, and didn't complain that the "skulls" were used about 8 times, oh and how about Chapter 2 just being a repeat of chapter 1?

I played mgsv soooo much the gameplay is so fucking amazing and I loved playing every second of it......I spent like 4 hours on the first mission my first time playing just trying to get a perfect stealth rank.....but that's it.....everything else is garbage the story sucks I hate all the buddy's except quiet (even tho she won't shut the fuck up hummmmm hmm) and you know what happens at the end....it was a 10/10 at some times and a 3/10 the rest.

For me. Halo ended at Halo 3. the first 3 games have a solid story. and that what matters to me the most at any game.

So apparently there is a Single-Player Campaign for Battlefront, but it was cut so that they could rush the game out the door in time for The Force Awakens.
the moment I knew ea was making battlefront, I knew it was going to be a dissapointment. I heard for over a year my friends talk about how "great" it is to see their childhood franchise rebooted, and how it was going to be great playing the multiplayer on console. When they played it, they did literally everything they could to defend it. And, even to this day, one of my friends keeps trying to make a case for it being _better_ then the originals
I can't understand how anyone could defend it, or say it's better. It has graphics, but it's worse in nearly every other way when compared to Battlefront 2. I might play it over battlefront 1, but that's more due to the original's age than the new one being any good.
Solid list, I agree with all of them except for Mad Max. I liked that game a lot even if it did get repetitive. I just loved the atmosphere and look of the Mad Max world and the gameplay was tight.

it's still an empty boring world compared to others this year sure the atmosphere was nice but games like The Witcher, Fallout 4 (even though engine is dated), And MGS V have put so much life into a world even it's filled with death and dread they're is still a considerable amount of effort that made you feel a part of that world compared to Mad Max. It's decent to an ok game but its far from great at all.

+MischiefReaper actually, as amazing as a game it is, MGS5's felt more empty and barren than mad max. Mad Max had more enemies between travel, more areas to explore with interesting collectibles to find and immersed me into its world much more

It's honestly kind of fascinating to look back at when Siege was considered a disappointment when it's now extremely popular and well-regarded.
The sad thing about Battlefront is that all of the people I go to school with think it is the best Star Wars game ever released. The funny thing is that they all have one thing in common except for one person, they have never played the previous Battlefronts. The one person who did play the previous Battlefronts is one of the most Star Wars fanboyish type of person I have ever met.
Fallout 4 was my most disappointing game of 2015. Bethesda had taken their games to new levels every time they stepped up to a new generation of consoles, but this time they really blew it. It was boring. I tore into that game for the first week, haven't touched it since. I just found myself experiencing the same generic content over and over again. It was poorly optimized for PC, and the game engine is beyond outdated. Haven't even bothered creating texture mods for it.

no, but its my #1 most disappointing game of 2015. have you seen the "pre alpha" gameplay footage? have you experienced the bullshit tactics that shouldn't be allowed, like coming out of the defense building and spawn killing based off of where the drones com from, or having a block of c4 fucking THROWN at you, when it should have to be placed? they haven't fixed the bugs and exploits and unfair tactics and they're already releasing dlc.

Was a super fun game in my opinion and had a lot of potential but was given like 0 time by WB for the game to even get off the ground. It's like WB just expected it to get like LoL numbers right off the bat and because it didn't they shut it down.

Pretty much, I would put it at 8 or 9 for me, nowhere near the big hitters, but it was certainly memorable. I remember a lot of the locations, one of my favorites is the buried church in the desert. The atmosphere just sold me on that so much happened here, but the result was clear. Mighty boats beached forever because of the receding tides, coral reefs now becoming mountains. All the crashed planes, reminded me of some of the really good locations in the Fallout series. It just oozed Mad Max, that was its greatest strength. Oh, and there was no hope to be found, not even close. Fallout can be hopeful, any sign of hope is utterly crushed.
