And the luthier? In South Calcutta, everybody had their instruments made by Hemen Biswas, except Radhikamohan Maitra, whose sarods were made by a more obscure luthier north of Rashbehari Ave.

I was lecturing on North Indian classical at the University of Jyväskylä (FI, "Athens of Finland"), and a listener asked: ""Why is it so difficult for us Westerners to appreciate Indian music?" I couldn't answer. Now I'd say it's the lack of modulations. With the Pythagorean scale, you can only go I - IV - V, and then it goes off.

Same as with Mrunalini, Sarasvatî reincarnate from North Karnâtaka: not too much chikârî (fill-in).

How does Chandni Kedâr differ from Kedâr? 1 7- 6.

its sad, with a video however ordinary , the raga presentation and his sitar playing could be seen; given how some meends of his are a peach of a lullaby. and the resonance of the instrument when struck, strung at that immaculate tone.

The villagers aren't interested in foreign cultures or drugs, only beer and tobacco.

I don't think Kedâr and Chandni Kedâr are identical. This sounds like a mixture of Kedâr and Bihâg. Maybe there's a "P m G" hidden somewhere.

The vilambit gat, or slow theme, is the best, because it leaves room for variations. The drut gat, or fast theme, is just wanking. I think it's there only for kathak dancers.

Why did Buddhadev Dasgupta die at only 75? Rotten air and poor public health care in Calcutta.

The max temp when I was studying at Shantiniketan was 52 C. Shit man, Finns die at 25.

      I have a 50-degree tolerance: from +25 to -25. Indians probably have from +50 to 0.

Difference between Europeans and Americans? Europeans use cannabinoids and opioids, Americans amphetamines.
