Some interesting things that you and others might have missed: Even though Kakashi was insistent on avoiding useless baggage, he was carrying his father's sword as a memento. Also, you could look at the fact that the sword broke in the last fight as symbolic of Kakashi's changing his old ways. It's also brilliant how Obito will literally “live on” as part of Kakashi and “see” the world through him. When that Stone ninja mentions that Kakashi is crying, only Obito's eye had tears in it (as he was the “crybaby”). The narration at the end was by the Third Hokage's VA. And, as mentioned by others, it was Obito who was always late. Now Kakashi has that habit.
The sword is not useless since it's a great weapon, it's dual use because it's a weapon known by many other nations thanks to his father, it provides protection and intimidation to the enemy like the one guy, who assumed Kakashi was the White Fang simply because of the saber.

That's true, Kakashi's losses are very sad. But Kakashi was able to go on a killing spree in Anbu to vent a lot of his pain. But thanks to Guy he was brought back to the light. Even at his worst I doubt Sasuke killed as many people as Kakashi (or Itachi) did. Eventually even Naruto and Kakashi realize how wrong they are for comparing their loss and trauma to Sasuke's. Had it not been for Itachi forcing Sasuke down the path of darkness with Tsukuyomi showing how he murdered his entire clan over and over and over again and Sasuke's inability to do anything about it due to not having the power required to stop Itachi and then Itachi coming to Konoha and showing Sasuke how weak even the great genius Kakashi was and letting Sasuke know if he wanted to he could kill Sasuke's new family in Team 7 if he felt like (that's minus the Uchiha curse born onto Sasuke and Orochimaru's cursed seal that further eroded Sasuke's mind)...I honestly think Kakashi or Naruto would have been able to reach Sasuke sooner and bring him to the light as their trauma would at least be comparable. And as Pain tells us, there is shared understanding in pain. What happened to Kakashi, Naruto, obito, Gaara, itachi, Nagato, Hashirama and even Madara are all tragedies...but they all pale in comparison to what Sasuke dealt with ever since his clan was murdered by the closest person to him.
In just two episodes, Kishimoto makes you care so much for Obito. The reason you recognise the name is that Kakashi’s mentioned mourning him before. It’s why he’s always late.

Obito was mentioned, when Itachi and Kisame came to Konoha before Shippuden. Kakashi told Asuma and Kurenai (I think it was them), he is about to meet Obito. As I remember correctly, it was the way he told them something is wrong, because they both knew Obito is gone.
Ep 119 was important; because of what happened to Kakashi's dad with the mental and physical stress that inevitably took its toll and led him to end himself, Obito said that he thought of Kakashi has a splendid ninja so that he doesn't go down the same path.
For me someone who cries, who is not afraid to show their feelings is not week at all. I think they are very strong. Watching this episode, I will honestly say that I have gained even more sympathy for you, because you show that it is not something terrible or that you do not have to be ashamed of it, no matter how old you are. I bet you don't remember, but when Kakashi tied Sasuke to a tree during the Chunin exam arc (when he tried to escape), he told Sasuke that he couldn't kill the people that Kakashi cares about because ALL of them were ALREADY DEAD. Just a minor reminder for you. This is also the reason why Kakashi is late for the team meetings. Every time he gets out of the village, he visits the memorial stone of all the fallen heroes from previous wars and missions.
Now you know what Kakashi meant when he said to Sasuke that everyone is dead and no one for him left to kill. Kakashi is Sasuke that tough it out and stayed in the village. Love the symbolism in Kakashi's transition with his dads blade breaking. He was carrying the burden of his fathers failure and wanted to be nothing like him. It broke and he renewed his foundations on how to be a ninja. Its super sad realizing Kakashi was being like Obito to Naruto's group, being late and having random excuses for it just like Obito
I watched these episodes so many times and I still cried along with you 😢💖 Obito is definetly one of my favourite characters in this whole show. I also just love how these episodes develop the relationship we (the viewers) have with Kakashi. Up until now, he's always the cool level-headed Sensei who cares about his students a lot but also has funny quirks like being late or being obsessed with make out paradise lol. But these episodes make us truly understand who he is as a person, how much he cares about his comrades even if he doesn't openly disclose it all the time. After all these years, still paying respect at the graves of his comrades and sensei and making up stupid excuses like "oh I had to help an old lady carry groceries, that's why I'm late" just like Obito used to instead of just saying he was visiting a grave. I think that's really cute, in a way a part of Obito really lives on inside of him. He also obviously really cares for Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke as well. In a way, he probably sees himself in Sasuke: Remember, tying up Sasuke to a tree in OG Naruto, trying to talk some sense into him? Basically telling Sasuke that this feelings are valid and understandable, showing empathy, trying to show Sasuke that he isn't all alone in the world with his feelings even if he thinks that. Also reminding him of Team 7, since Sasuke unlike Kakashi has the priviledge that all of his comrades are still there and he might regret leaving them behind and not being able to spend more time with them, like Kakashi had to leave behind Obito. Naruto probably reminds him of Obito in a lot of ways, Naruto being emotional and never wanting to give up on his comrades and save them (like Obito didn't want to give up Rin). I guess Sakura could remind Kakashi of Rin, being a medical ninja but let's be honest their personalities are quite different even though I believe that both Rin and Sakura care(d) for both of their teammates very deeply. Aw this episode just shows how vunerable and human Kakashi can be and that he isn't just the "stoic, cool guy" that we associate with him.
It's very understated how much pain and loss Kakashi carries with him. When he told a very young, angry Sasuke that vengeance won't fill that void in his heart, it comes from lessons learned. Sasuke asked if he should kill everyone he cared about and see if he'd still feel the same, and he said, unfortunately, everyone in my life like that is already dead. He meant that shit. First his mother, then his Father, then Obito, then his sensei the 4th, Asuma who he grew up with, the 3rd hokage who, I'm sure most of Kakashi's generation feel guilt for not being able to protect. And last but not least, losing his student and not being able to stop Sasuke from going down the wrong path.

this behaviour caught out by his anbu genmate yugao who see him in the memorial monument. she's giving kakashi sugguestion instead of always late in any moment bcs comin on graveyard, she say try to coming in graveyard earlier so you're not late. but kakashi replied he's always coming earlier. but he's always spendin in there until dawn.

this behaviour comes after that incident, anbu until he becomes sensei of team 7
its feels like he got trauma but he's not mentaly down but still he can't forgot n still got the burden. that's why he always coming in there n spending time to remember, respect etc to them.

but lucky kakashi, even he lost his friends obito n rin, and always spending time alone there's 1 genmate who always coming to him who self proclaim as his rival. yes "GUY".
