My pops is getting older and can’t go like he has in the past. I cherish every trip with him. Ain’t no bond like father son. You guys are awesome and an inspiration for all
Fishing with my OGs was always a blast. From my grandmother with her cane poles, to my dad and uncles listening to them tell stories. I was blessed to be able to take them fishing as they got older and that will forever be special to me.
Yep. My dad went on to be with the Lord and he was my fishing buddy. Miss him dearly and daily. He started me fishing when I was 3 yrs old. Cherish the moments my man and God bless you and your father.
Thanks for that video man! I have so many great fishing memories with my Dad who got me started and made me the fisherman I am today! He just turned 75 this year and doesn’t fish as much as he used to so when the opportunity to go with him arises, I don’t hesitate! Rain, sleet, or snow, me and my Dad would go! One person I really miss though is my Dads play Dad and my play grandad, Deacon Ernest Long, whom we loved dearly! There were many 3 day limits of crappie ( 90 fish ) caught between the 3 of us! Thanks for your prayers and this opportunity to remember our fishing loved ones passed and gone! Much love!
I'm on the West Coast my dad is down south ATL I love going fishing with my dad that's the most fun you could ever have with your father doing something you both love
Thanks Ken and Hook City. I really needed that video. Daddy passed many years ago. What always gets me thru is that my Heavenly Father is with me 24/7 and he forever lives. Merry Christmas!
Amen and amen. From my heart i appreciate the support you show this channel. Hope this video causes you to bring up all the good times yall had together.
I use to fish with my dad all the time. We haven't fished much since I moved to Arkansas. The most memorable fishing trip we had we caught 78 crappie 2 striped bass and 2 catfish
Thanks for all you do for those of us that no longer have that element of time with our fathers. Also, thanks for mentioning every transition of jig changes. Keep up the great work and God bless you through His son, Jesus Christ!!
Thanks Ken I didn't have my dad around coming up as kid fishing but thank God for my grandma that installed it in me taught me everything that I know about fishing.
Best fishing moment was watching my 4 and 6 year old catching there 1st fish! I was more excited then they was lol deffently a life changing moment for me!!
Hey Kenny! Love your vids with your dad! My dad is 88 with Alzheimer's and he still remembers how to fish! I take him every chance we can! He thinks we're just fishing! Love y'all Man! Catch 'Em!
My earliest memories fish'in with my Dad, where with a cane pole from the bank.. and later a place called Mackmese Pond, a privately owned pond my dad found doing siding work, and got pemmission to bring us two boys along. You can sit there for 2 hours with nary a bite, but when you did get one, you better have a hold of your pole cuz every catfish in that pond was over two foot long. I caught my biggest bass of my life on that pond, never got him in, but I got him right to shore, got a good look at him.. I was probably 12 years old. My Dad has been gone about 11 years now, but ever since he's been gone my passion for fishing is only increased. Love your show. Love seeing you and your Dad together, brings back good memories, keep up the good work.
Thanks for the story man! I know there are some pond monsters out there and yes they will snatch a pole clean into the water. Had it happen on a boat a few times, lol. Glad you enjoyed the video man, and thanks for the support on Hook City Tv
Hook City, Thanks for including your Pops! That is a special bond i can relate with. Many of "early Saturday mornings" we use to get our hooks wet. CG JR. is with the Lord now, but he is always with me. Keep your Pops riding shot-gun....love to see "Father and Son" getting those crappie! PEACEBROTHER KEN. CG III "Dock-guy"
I lost my dad February of 2018,that was my best friend,he taught me everything about fishing we fished every chance we had. While he was in the hospital I promised him I was go have a boat for us when he got out,but he never made it out the hospital so I dedicated my boat to his remembrance. My fishing days will never be the same without him. Cherish every moment you can with your dad.
I just want to say I really truly enjoy watching what you all doing and I really enjoy the relationship between you and your dad man I would give anything in the world to have those moments that you all have together I can truly and I know you know this say that you are blessed so just keep being a blessing two others

My dad raised us fishing. I go as often as i can. I took him on his last trip last year. He just can't do it anymore at 87 . I have a great picture of a really nice flounder that was his last trip ........and last fish but he is still with us. He always comes to inspect the ice chest when i come in. Gotta love dad!!
Great fishing Hook City & Ken! My best memory would have to be when my granny would take me fishing with her @ the Denison Dam early in the mornings! I could have been no more than 8yrs old. I remember getting finned by a cat in my hand because I was playing with the caught fish in the bucket and I never wanted to go fishing with her after that! And I never went again until 5yrs ago with my cousin. We had a blast! And now I am addicted! When my granny found out I was fishing she was soo tickled and proud! Because Ken she went fishing everyday sometimes twice a day when she was mobile. Now she is in a wheelchair and when I visited her last Sunday I asked her about what kind of rod and reel did she use when she would fish and a big grin came up on her face! She knows I am getting ready to take her fishing as soon as the weather permits! I love my grandma (and we share a special bond being that I am the second grandchild and the first granddaughter... See I'm her favorite! Lol!) and that will be a great memory for her and to share! God bless Ken!
Hey Hook City~! Man as much as i love and enjoy crappie fishing, this video really takes me back to fishing with a wonderful dad of my own. He passed away on 6/15/95 but man you talking about a relentless fisherman! From Fishing below open flood gates to fishing through thunder storms, we did it all. One night trip stands out though. We were below the dam doing some bank fishing and crappie were on fire. In my excitement, i am dropping my crappie in his bucket by mistake and he knows it but doesn't say anything. After a while he couldn't contain his laughter. I still laugh when i think of it. What a precious memory. Thanks, great video, even greater moment in life! Enjoy your time with dad. Who knows, I may visit my sister in Texas soon and look you up! Be Blessed!!!
Awsome memory. Dad let you fill him up before he said anything, lol. We're here.... Thanks for checking out the video and sharing with us man! Happy Holidays...God bless

Man im thankful you were able to spend those moments with youre dad before he passed. I pray his memory stay with you forever. Thanks for sharing, and we appreciate the support!
Family fishing outing, I was ten years old. On my first cast, my stopper went down and my dad lost his mind for a second, LOL!!! He was more excited than I was, so excited that he pretty much stepped into the water to help me pull in the catch of the day, my mom had to yell out his name to bring him back into reality. Forever embedded in my mind and heart.💙 🎣🎣
Man this is going to be the first Christmas without my grandma she pass in June. We fish alot when I was little for bams. Take care stay safe and God Bless.
I lost all my grandparents before i left highschool. What i wouldnt do to hug them again. I give my condolences man and pray you remember the good times with her this holiday season....
Much praise and love man let me tell you , me and my dad are still fishing strong as a team and I got to tell you I've been wanting to film our memories of us fishing together and you have inspired us!!!!!!!!!!! We gotta link up and go get us a mess of them crappie!!!!!! We all the way in Indianapolis Indiana and a part of the dirty dozen hunting and fishing club which is a amazing organization here that teaches our youth how to be self sufficient....... get with me sir I will definitely bring my dad and my boat.
Thanks for checking out the video bro. I was also inspired by a brother and his dad fishing together and making videos. The way my life is set up I wish I could meet with subscribers but it just isn't happening for me right now. Soon though, I hope to link up with some good folks and do some fishing. I appreciate the support bro, go get a camera and start recording. If nothing else you will have great memories of you and your dad fishing. Tight lines!!!
Great video fishing Ken. Glad to see that you and your dad are back out there doing y'all thang. It reminds me of when I was going with my dad fishing. He was not big on freshwater fishing, but he does enjoys saltwater fishing more than freshwater fishing. As we all know, it is easier to catch fish in saltwater than freshwater. Cause you can throw a dump truck in saltwater and catch anything that bites. There is one time when my dad caught the biggest saltwater drum ever. It was so big that it almost pulled him out of the boat. I had to grab his belt loop; to help him sit down before he went head first in the water. That was one of many trips that I enjoyed the most with him. I have plenty more on videos and pictures. I thank you and your dad for putting out quality family fishing videos. I enjoy them very much. One day, I will get him into those slabs, he just don't have the patience for those fish. Once again keep up the great work, keep the great video content coming also. BBC! HEE! HAW! Tight Lines!😎
Bru, blessings to be out there with Pops! You a bad man fishing with two rods in your hands!!! I lost my Dad 1996, new years day! Being from the Virgin Islands, I started fishing in salt water. I joined the Army back in 1986, and at my second duty station, ft. Benning, a few of the guys from my section invited me bream fishing and as they say, the rest is history! Avid Fisherman now...at 50, I fish as much as I can. Take care Bruh an keep the amazing videos coming.
Well my funniest moment was with my grandfather we went to a place called tow fishing we caught a bunch of gasper goos aka drum but he told me boy tie the rod down and before i knew my rod was in the water on a cold day water was cold luckily i dove inder water and came up with the rod and all i said was i gottem paw paw he laughed for years behind that stunt and would tell the story in church at dinner and to every one but this was my first teacher he taught me to fish and run dogs after jackrabbits i thank god for the memories and the time spent with him god bless hook city love the shows
Hey Merry Christmas love to fish. Blessings to you and your father. I used to fish with mine all the time I remember most when we used to fill a 5 gallon bucket up with bream and crappie. Good Times.
I have many fond memories but the one that stands out the most is when I was about 6 my grandmother let me use her cane pole just to get me out of her hair and showed me how to bait my hook with a wax worm. And when I caught a big bluegill she said gone catch us some more! She didn't like sharing her fish but I earned my keep that night!
IM GOING TO KEEP IT REAL! TOP FISHING CHANNEL thanks a million for all your videos. its my goal this year to get a boat and get out with my pops. keep up the good work ! all the best
Ken, cherish the time with your dad. I know you do, but keep it up. Time goes by way too fast. Great video as always. As you can tell by the comments below, you touch a LOT of lives with your videos and the way you share Christ with your viewers. Keep it up and I don't believe in the PC Happy Holidays so, Merry Christmas brother. By the way, enjoy that beautiful new house this Christmas season. You've earned.
Nothing beats time on the water man. Wish i knew something about Choke Canyon.... Research and get out there and try different things. They cant hide forever. Id check the creeks this time of year
Great Job 👍 my brother my father and I still fish together but it's cold up here on St. Louis as soon as it warms up we be on them. God bless you and Hook City and thanks for the Videos. We may show up at that lake soon. ✌

@@HookCityTV Houston Texas I don't remember the name of the Lake But it's always around Father's Day weekend me and my kids fly in they love it Would love to fish with you and pops in my pops this summer
God Bless You Brother! Great video! One day we still need to find time to take a crappie fishing trip! Here in Kansas,Texas or in the middle somewhere! Take care and Merry Christmas!
I came across your videos very well made , getting ready to do some crappie fishing . I haven"t learn how to find then on my Lorance but I saw you video on locating fish , maybe I can find them now. GREAT VIDEOS
I really hope the videos helped. don't forget time on the water is a great teacher. If you have any specific questions or run into any trouble let me know. I don't know it all but I know how to find out
Man that dam is another few miles down the way. The fish are waiting for me right there at the bridge and its easy pickings! Great suggestion though. havent hit the tawakoni dam in a good while
always liked seeing you and your dad fishing. fishing can be tough on those blue bird days. oh yeah, you can't legally count those crippled tail fish, its the law! (at least that's what I tell the kids.) guess you are still loving that boat. Jerry
haha, that cripple crappie better not be 10 inches. I actually had a 11 incher with the same issue. Needless to say he doesnt have that issue anymore. lol And yessir im loving the boat. Its what we wanted for sure.
one more comment my friend and to all those out there in crappie land.... May God Bless You and yours with a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Get that 8 footer bro, and if she really loves you she will get that 10ft to go with it. Don't forget that promo code to save a few dollars on the purchase. HCTV at checkout
Awesome video. I always enjoy your videos. Hangin with dad only way to go. How come he only has one rod. Just wondering. Well keep the dream alive peace
Just a preference thing. I decided to double rod because i had handties on one and plastics on the other. It worked out because i caught fish on both until the handties took off. Thanks for watching!
I love fishing with my oldiest boy he's 6 yrs old but funny he just had brain surgery in April 18 2019 the first thing he said when he came to was where's my daddy I want to go fishing
Shit ken believe it or not my grandma was the one turned me on to my first fishing and i do miss her but she was 94 when she passed she had a good life to see 94 and i could never beat her on the biggest bass she caught a 8 pounder and my pb was 6 pounds she was old school on catching her bass loved dem big shiners throw them out and just let dem sit she was a real fish woman rip Robbie White💪👍
RIP Granny! Man when I tell you there are some fishing women in my family too. My grandmother and her sister could fish just as good as her brothers, and they were some fishing fools! That's a great memory to keep close. thanks for sharing
Yeah I used to fish with mine all the time he died in 1998 I remember one time we were fishing and I was casting for bass and caught his cap as I was casting and he cussed me out lol
@@HookCityTV he didn't know Father and jesus which is life eternal I want you to know ken I appreciate you for not being ashamed to say the name above every other name I also am not ashamed being a preacher that loves crappie fishing about to go right now lol tell your dad I said hang in there y'all continue to grocery shop those corn meal models lol
ill use the 7.6 every now and again. But thatll be the shortest ill go. you dont want your boat too close to the column your fishing or it will be problematic when your trying to boat your fish sometimes. 8 is the perfect rod for me under bridges
Man, I don't have a Dad. You guess your Dad would mind having a white son? I'm not messin ' with ya, man! You and your Dad are cool...and great people, too! And Christians, too! I mean every word I say! I had a Dad...so to speak, but he definitely wasn't a good Dad. Well, at least I have a "Dad" in Heaven...God! Great video, as always, and I see you had a certain Slabrador Retriever that 'cha caught up with, there at the end of your video. Have a great night, and, as always, keep haulin' in those slabs and donkeys! Hee-Haw!!! God bless y'all, is my prayer!!!
God bless you and yours as well bro. White, black, brown.... When we all get to heaven that wont matter! By the sounds of it we are brothers in Christ also. The slabrador was out there tearing it up too... Thanks for checking out the latest!
Thanks man. I like the shimano sienna 1000 or the mitchell 310. Both good choices, and dont forget to grab some braided line for extra sensetivity.. trust me!
Thanks for the reply. I went with the Mitchell 310 and 10lb braided line, yellow. I Will be testing this setup on creeks off on lakes Ray Hubbard and White Rock, Sunday.
That’s how a not smart person do it ! Use a white perch to catch catfish. And trashed the lake with that line. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 glad Y’all had a good day over all !!!! My mom is my fishing buddy thanks Fishing Ken

I'm going to flip the script here a bit. I'm 64 years old today. Took my son fishing all his life. I'm retired now with all the time to fish I want, a nice boat, but my son is too busy to fish with me. I can't go by myself because I'm handicapped and am apt to lose my balance from time to time. He was more excited than I was, so excited that he pretty much stepped into the water to help me pull in the catch of the day, my mom had to yell out his name to bring him back into reality. Forever embedded in my mind and heart.💙 🎣🎣
Nice! You made me think of the first fish my baby girl caught. That's on video ya know.. you should check it out!!!!

Great memory bro. Take him when you know the bite is hot... Hookcity is a converted catfisherman. Thats all we used to go catch!

SOLID GOLD BRO !!!! FISHING WITH POPS !!!
Thanks for watching bro. We had a blast!
Cool story, my family is full of women that fished and i sure do miss them. Nothing like cane pole and big ole mean bluegill

always liked seeing you and your dad fishing. fishing can be tough on those blue bird days. oh yeah, you can't legally count those crippled tail fish, its the law!

Just a preference thing. I decided to double rod because i had handties on one and plastics on the other. It worked out because i caught fish on both until the handties took off. Thanks for watching!
Great video bro

Thanks man. WWW.AccCrappieStix.com and i have a promo code that will save you 10% on the entire purchase. Type HCTV and save!
@@HookCityTV Thanks man! Merry Christmas to you and your dad!
ii find ii had to use the 8ft rods under bridge. do you ever use shorter rods under bridges
ill use the 7.6 every now and again. But thatll be the shortest ill go. you dont want your boat too close to the column your fishing or it will be problematic when your trying to boat your fish sometimes. 8 is the perfect rod for me under bridges
U Hear That Big Bro??? HeeeeHawwwww!!!!
yessahhhhh. That donkey will talk to you if you listen close enough. lol
Yo, good content. What is the best reel to pair with the 7'6 2p split grip?
Hello I like the show , how long are your rods
12 and 13 ft acc rods from www.acccrappiestix.com
Grandpa Earl, RIP...TOOK me fishing since I was in my diapers, shoot. I caught the bait, he caught the cats...
Sounds like yall were a team! lol... Rip grandad
Wish i could get my mama out more.. Im jealous! Thanks for watching
Are those 8' poles or shorter? I like that you love Jesus. It is why I watch your channel the most.
The Acc Crappie Stix we use in this video are 8 and 7.6 foot poles. They can be found at www.acccrappiestix.com and when you use my promo code (hctv) you can save an additional 10% on your purchase! It also helps me out!!! I am nothing without my Lord, and have no issue mentioning the name Jesus! Thanks for watching!
What's that brown outfit yall wearing? Getting cold down here in GA.
Bibs and jacket from carhart
I'm going to flip the script here a bit. I'm 64 years old today. Took my son fishing all his life. I'm retired now with all the time to fish I want, a nice boat, but my son is too busy to fish with me. I can't go by myself because I'm handicapped and am apt to lose my balance from time to time. Makes me so sad.
TEll that boy i said take you fishing!!!!! Glad you do have some memories with your son though. Thanks for watching
Nice vid man!! I just uploaded a new video!!! Go check it out👍🏼
Thanks man. ill look you up
Would you be willing to sell me some of the crappies you catch?
Unfortunately its illegal to sell crappie in Tx
How about if I donate it to your fishing trip
