Despite being one of the league's most exciting players and one the most dominate players in this year's NBA Playoffs, John Wall still doesn't have a sneaker deal. Why hasn't he signed with Under Armour? Why hasn't Nike picked him up? Would he ever go to a Chinese based brand like Anta or PEAK?

nellek970 but let's be honest before he left john wall wasn't looking worthy enough of a James harden contract yet at the the. he wasn't playing like himself and the team was all over the place, this season he got hot mojo back and I think that he should of stayed, just because he wasn't getting the money then and the shoes wasn't looking right at the time doesn't mean he should of left, one the money he was getting was better than no money and I really feel like if he stayed Adidas would of been really impressed with him his play this season. Adidas needs more basketball signatures and James harden was a huge success and they could of reboot walls shoes and gave him some creative freedom but oh well he blew it now that leaves the door open to Andrew Wiggins or maybe dames shoes

JFANderful Curry sells. Plank's comments were not only relative to the previous two releases, both of which were very successful, but they also didn't include the oversees market where Curry does very well.

The Curry 3's aren't selling because of bad marketing and poor distribution. Go to any Foot Locker and you'll see how minuscule the UA section is. There also has been some pretty uninspiring colorways.

John Wall's last two from Adidas were completely overshadowed by even budget models. I think they played it safe at Adidas with his shoes. The designs were so uninspired. Compare his shoes to that of Adidas' other two athletes prior to the Harden deal, Lillard and Rose. Their shoes were decent performers on court while their namesakes were average at best.
I don't know what UA is waiting for because they are definitely sleeping on Wall. They struck gold with Curry. In my mind, Wall's shoe from UA would provide a cushion set up that was more for impact protection rather than the court feel that Curry prefers, given that Wall is an explosive athlete and that would help diversify UA's performance line up.

Oscar Gosling yup reebok had pretty dope shoes in the 90s and then the AIs. However, adidas scrapped reebok's basketball sneaks (except retros) so they won't have to compete against each other in trying to catch up to nike.

TBH john Wall signing with UA would be ideal because under UA the only stars I could think off of the top of my head is Bryce Harper and steph curry and cam newton. And I think Tom Brady but I'm not 100% sure on that. It would be nice to have another nba star on UA. Because steph curry is extremely popular in the sports world, but would be nice to have multiple stars under one brand.

One of my favorite silhouettes of a shoe is the John Wall 1. I think people slept on those so hard. Since I liked his first Adidas model so much I keep hoping he'll end up somewhere that will give him his own signature line.

Wall is seeking a huge deal for a guy that lacks the charisma that Steph, Lebron, and other signature athletes have.
Adidas. That black mesh one was nice. One of the most comfortable to actually play in like DROSE TS supernatural. Bottom just burn off quickly, but it was the most comfortable sneaks in a long time... no break in needed. I tore my Achilles wearing Nike Air flights hurach based on the kobe's back when. Looked good but the strap was wear my Achilles tore 2008. I gave sneakers away after incident. Nike look good but comfort level is 5, always takes awhile to break in.
It doesn't make sense to saturate the market with more than 5 player shoes (Jordan, Kobe, LeBron, KD, Curry)
Wall might be gearing toward that other type of player exclusivity deal that Nike has with IT or DeRozan or Bledsoe where they get specific on court colorways of a sig model like Kobes or LeBrons. It'd be cool if he went with Brand Black tho, it ain't always about that money (unless Brand Black really DOES keep him with a huge amount)

NBA players like John Wall should blackout (paint over) their sneakers, like they do in football. So that you don't give these shoes companies free advertising. So why would Nike or Adidas even bother to sign you a deal? If you can be seen on TV wearing their shoes for FREE!

The reason why I think brands won't sign him, is because Reebok made him his own signature shoe, and he didn't even wear it. Why would a brand sign a guy who might not like his shoe, or even wear it. That would look terrible for the brand. I think 100% he deserves his own shoe, but that factor might be keeping brands away from him.
John Wall is a tremendous talent but doesnt sell shoes. the Reebok's werent his fault those were so bad MJ in his prime couldnt have sold them. but I doubt he really helped adidas sales either. I think its partly his personality. he comes across matter of factly and lets his play do the talking. that doest work too well. ppl tend to gravitate towards overtly cocky players such as LeBron. Nike and UA know he didnt sell w/ adidas so no reason to pony up the money. its all about hype and Wall is all substance.
I think he's just got to forget about the super deal; your endorsements arent necessarily reflective of your play. and just go where he feels valued and enjoys the process and people he works w/. theres more to it than money. go to a company that cares about you personally and makes marketing you their priority
