Yep. After a initial $40 or so for some spices and common sauces (oyster, hoisin, et cetera) you can just make most stuff in a few minutes yourself.
@darthverminates9708 absolutely. Depending on the spices/ingredients you could spend $40-50 and end up making several meals
@@AKJames762 more than several. If your cooking for one it can just be a teaspoon of ostyer sauce, soy sauce, oil, shaoxing wine, & sesame oil... I made fried rice for dinner and that's all it takes for 1/4 cup of rice.

I love all your videos! My daughter works at Big Lots here in California, and they went belly up! Chapter 7! Well thankfully she got a new job. They sold stuff like this. I seriously wish Gordon Ramsey would see your videos. You have an amazing voice and you tell the truth. With your and your daughter/wife’s I Influence over like a million people, they should be scared to put BS meat in their products. You are seriously on pay with “report of the week” or “Rose Anvil” you tell the truth…. Which a lot of famous influencers don’t. U always trust your reviews! Why? Because they are real and honest!

I usually buy some sticky rice to go with InnovAsian meals. This makes it a lot better.

I'd like to try this frozen meal. And yeah, only one serving at best. 400 calories is a good lunch, but light for dinner. Need a couple additional items, and put this over rice or pasta. 😀

IN the 10 minutes of watching this video, which my clock says it was posted an hour ago, I saw the counter spin up by at least 30 views. So, you obviously have a following Larry.
if you want more tender meat sprinkle some bicarbonate 1/2-1 tablespoon of bicarbonate on 1 pound of meat. rub it in so all the pieces get bicarbonate, leave for 15-30 minutes, rinse the meat. the rinse is quite important if you don't want to have stomach cramps. but that's what they do in some Chinese restaurants.
Works great! Makes it have that melty takeout beef texture

On your homemade version - looks tasty and about the same as I used to make, but I never had to pre-cook any veggies when I did any stir fry cooking.. The key was to be sure all pieces were bite size and that temps were high enough in the fry pan or wok. (I used a flat bottomed non-stick "wok" to do my stir-fries and was always successful....) - as always - thanks for your review of the frozen variety - I really value your reviews!
Your dishes always look so much better than the store bought anything , but homemade is always best !!!

I would really like to see a review of some of the Atkins frozen meals, such as the beef merlot and chili.
One of my favorite home cooked meals, but i honestly can't imagine eating it without basmati rice at all, it requires to have some good white rice next to it.

"Serving size" is using the assumption that you will be serving side dishes such as rice, braised mushrooms, asian salad, Cantonese Soy Sauce Pan-Fried Noodles....ect.

You are supposed to serve it with a lot of rice to make it 3 servings. I don't like rice, so I would do that either. I could probably make it into 2 servings with some ramen.
As far as I'm concerned the serving size is so they don't have to list 3200mg of sodium in each meal since broken down by portions. If you read the next drink you buy it'll probably have multiple servings so seeing 30gs of sugar may be "ok" but when it's 2.5 servings... Yeah..

Innovasian is my favorite frozen asian food honestly. If i have to pick i reach for it. Their white rice is amazingly good for being frozen. They always come with way too much sauce for me though.

Yeah that shit needs to change. The FDA is so involved with food to the point where the nutrition facts needs to be on food. But companies take advantage of it and say it's wayyyy more servings per item/meal to hide the overall salt/fat/other stuff people don't want to have.

That is a good question Larry , what the crap are we eating? My Pa was a Vietnam vet & he refused to eat any Asian food or buy any Asian products , clothing, cars , etc...
My dad and FIL fought in Korea and they were exactly the same way. I didn't discover Asian food until I was in my 20's on my own.

Whie I do not know this to be true with this meat. There is a technique used in alot of beef dishes called "veleveting" that also uses those ingrediants he credits to making it a formed meat surry concoction. so i may actually be whole muscle meat. But I cannot say for certain.

Real beef has a little natural trans fat. The tiny portion size could be to hide that: under half a gram per serving of trans fat can be reported as zero…

This is honestly one of the least appetizing frozen meals I have ever seen.
I can understand, maybe eating something like this in a pinch at work if you were in a hurry that morning and you were desperate and starving.But if cooking a ten minute basic actual beef and broccoli is beyond your abilities you have failed at being a functional adult.
