I love this part of the world. I live in Cruso and my house was the boundary between minor flooding and people who lost EVERYTHING. Literally less than an hour after the rain subsided there was a parade of dozens of not hundreds of people walking up Highway 276 to come to help. I’m tearing up just typing this. I’ve been all over, but I will never leave this place.
People need to remember hurricane Hellen . Their is so much going on . Let's not forget what their going through. And help as much as possible . God bless everyone
Most important thing right is getting people and families out of cold exposure And into warm places to live during winter. If anyone thinks they can help in some way please contact and research those on the ground that are trusted and helping.
Exactly .. I have worried so much about how cold it is now outside and some people still living in tents. They need help. Definitely need help from the govt !
I spent time every summer for the last 60 years in the mountains, they are just stunning. At 81, things are hard for me but I did buy several bags of groceries, just so wish I could do more. It is snowing, people are still in tents, their jobs are gone and even if they weren't, their cars are gone and they have no way out. I hope people with cars they do not need will start sending them to people who lost everything but the debts on their homes, they have no personal belonging, no homes, no cars and as I said, no jobs. These people are proud people, hard working, all their food they put up over the summer is gone, please if you can help them. Thanks.
I use to live in Marshall I live in Wisconsin now but when I heard the hurricane hit I knew Marshall would be hit hard it was right near the French broad and even the railroad tracks I walked on were gone
You keep saying there are 100s of people gone. You know it's much more than that. No one is talking about the folks that were in the tent city. Tell the truth, please.😢
Heartbreaking! I continue to donate to Samaritan's Purse, but wish I had specifics about just ONE family that has Christmas "wish list". New jeans? Shoes? pjs? Anything? I'm not seeing/hearing this in any of the videos. I'm sure the need is there.
Deep River Farm has a couple of places listed in the description box if you want to reach the people way back in the hollows, there is also project Santa that has been collecting all kinds of items for Christmas
I’ve heard people on the ground who are responding to many needs have said government doesn’t want media to divulge true number of fatalities. Couple workers reported fatalities could be over couple thousand! Unfortunately all the mud covering things makes it hard for recovery of loved ones. Prayer and lots of help needed in Asheville, and outlying areas. God bless all the people helpers!❤
I've donated money, winter coats and buddy heaters, but Lord help me, I feel totally useless. I can't be there to volunteer and actually help. My husband is recovering from a stroke and I have to take care of things at home here in South Carolina. I thank God every day for the people who are there to help in every way they possibly can. But of my many prayers every day, I ask the Lord to help me deal with this anger I have for this incompetent government we have . The people of the Appalachians have paid taxes all their lives. They never ask anyone for anything. They are strong and love God, family, and Country. Why is it they are not being helped like any other area in the country that is struck by natural disaster? What is wrong with these people in D.C? What about their oath of office to protect and serve ALL citizens? I think they will all go to hell when we are all sorted out.
I'm an Asheville native of my 67 years. You stated that Asheville gets our water from the Swannanoa river...that is wrong. We get our water from North Fork and Bee Tree lakes.

Helene almost knocked North Carolina back into the 19th century.
Such a beautiful town my friend said people were moving in by the bus load not any more

Still lying about the number of dead….makes me sick.
Yes, and I want to know has the Governor ever filed for a state of emergency?

@@CarrieMoenchOver 2,000 still missing and presumed dead. My son lives in Bakersville. The media is covering up all of the fatalities. :(

We live in Spruce Pine. ALOT of false information in this.
I live in Burnsville. What false information did you notice?
Males me wonder how many people are now sick in yhese areas from these toxins in the the water... Bless their hearts. Protect them lord.
Thousands of people died and they''re still lying about it.
They're not rebuilding! They are still finding bodies and body parts and stacking them in warehouses! They need help!!!!!!!!!😮
It will take years before the town become normal years
The town was so close to the water
1000’s are dead
Over 2;000.

Just another piece of false information. Of course USA today can't get the basic right
More than 100 people people
Yes, I saw a video with over 300 people still missing and presumed deceased.
Wait there’s thousands dead not hundreds
people are good and strong that believe that all things work to good that love God🦄🦄🐦
all that is just great but what is going on with restoring the roads and water system?
Stop the lying about the dead and missing!!!!!!
