    Thats a really legit design for using pallet boards. What is nice is you can do this design even if you just cut the tops boards off the pallet stringers with a circular saw. I think a making a longer one with a slightly larger curve as part of a 3 piece set would be awesome. Great video!

      @kellymedia99 if you cut the boards with the circular saw you will save time, cause you don't need to get rid of all the nails. Anyway if you make the planters, please send me some photos. You can DM the photos at my Instagram page, you will find the profile in my bio here on RUclips. Anyway thanks for your comment 😊

      Thank you, why not, is a great hobby , you can build your own furniture and for me is relaxing. Just few tip: At the beginning don't buy expensive tools, if you don't want to spend much money find some good tools at thrift store or on marketplace on Facebook. Start working with palletwood is cheep and if you make some mistake you are not throwing away money. Hope that help 😊

    Just made one, and due to the different thicknesses of the boards and my not having a planer (sooo expensive here in Curacao) I had to fool around to make things. stuck and fit, but with much patience, it worked out great. And the most important thing, my wife loves it

    Awesome Idea, I would still use some tight bond 3 just to make it last longer and be stronger.

      Thank you 😊
      Tight bond 3 is great for outdoor projects, is (for what I know) water resistant so is the right glue to use .

    Thanks for the great video, I will definitely be making those planters. Just a word of caution regarding pallet wood. Don't cut too close to the nail holes, sometimes there are broken off nails still in the wood.

    • @RuralWoodshop
      @RuralWoodshop  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. When I break down pallets I always double check if nails still in the boards, if so, I discard those boards. Anyway thanks again for your comment.

    I wish you would have shown how you even out the boards with a rasp. That way a beginner like me would know what a rasp is and how to use it.

      I'm sorry I didn't include that part, next time I'll use a rasp I will include in the video. Thanks for your feedback. Really appreciate.

      Rasp: a coarse file or similar metal tool with a roughened surface for scraping, filing, or rubbing down objects of metal, wood, or other hard material.

      Also, there are Japanese style rasps that file very well, and aside from there being regular that are flat, there are concave rasps to use as you need them.
