Y’all was spot on with this joint! We are trying to find better ways to discipline our children and move away from the ‘spoil the child, spare the rod’ mentality. But, Jesus knows it can be hard sometimes!! 😂😂😂

I’m with you both....it ain’t out business but also, if my adult kids speak to me like I’m somebody off the street, then I’m returning that fire. I don’t care how old you are, you will never get to a age where I allow you to disrespect me. And all the super Christians need to STHU!

Yes I would’ve cross certain lines with my parents and I wouldn’t allow my grown children to cross those boundaries with me either otherwise we have a problem!

I totally agree with Kirk and his mother... his mother stated if you going to bring stuff on social media then put everything on the table she even included herself as well in the podcast she paid for she wanted her ,Kirk and her son to lay everything out to rebuild their family

He didn’t want to put his stuff on the table. He was only interested in making his father look bad.

The only reason to record a conversation, especially one with your parent, is to be prepared for an reaction! It was provoked and aired out for the world with the objective of hurting his dad’s image and career! Honor thy mother and father....what happened to that?!

Buddy was clout chasing that’s why he recorded it. If he truly was interested in healing with his father then that conversation would’ve never been recorded. And he strategically recorded when his dad snapped. He didn’t record what he said to make him snap 🤔

I have spanked my girls before when they were younger. Now, they generally respond better to a good talking to and letting them know that I am disappointed in their choices/actions.

On the topic of Kirk Franklin- No, he absolutely shouldn’t apologize for his behavior and I (being a Christian) didn’t feel like he was what he did was “cancel worthy”, nor do I feel like he’s hypocrite. He’s human. What we heard was a parent who was hurt and angry. Should he apologize to his son.......yes for allowing his anger to control his tongue, (regardless whether or not his son apologizes) should he repent to God......for sure, but for me ( and this is where I struggled as a Christian....I am definitely a work in progress) I would be soooooooo in my feelings and hurt beyond belief that my child betrayed me like that, that I would to take a giant step back and forgive my child but love him from afar for a minute. I would need a bit of space. His son is toxic and seems to be (from what I saw) a lover of drama and attention. I do think they should continue working on their relationship but I would need a time-out for sure so God can refuel because he’s going to need the FULL armor of God to deflect all the weapons his son is allowing satan to arm him with.. I watched the son on his live feed and he seemed like he either has a mental challenge
Or a drug challenge. There definitely seemed to be an issue. As for disciplining children.......I have a boy and a girl and to say they are different is an understatement. She didn’t need a lot of physical correction or grounding. She had a healthy fear of disappointing us and consequences. My son.........did the homework and wouldn’t turn it in, lied about the most insignificant things, had to be told 50/11 times not to do something and acted like each time was his first time hearing it, and constantly breaks things ( cabinet doors make the best rides!). I didn’t spank my kids very often...I did a lot more “fusing” until I realized my son was getting the same “glazed” look when I was fussing/ slash talking an infraction to death so now he loses his phone and/or PlayStation privileges and that seems to work. :)

We agree. He should apologize to his son and they should seek some professional help separately and together. But he's not cancelled for us.
