Got mine. I like the Multi tool itself great EDC .Dropped a few items in my bag and don't even carry my pocketknife anymore. I chose the molded sheath version because velcro sux its loud and would have been a lot bigger. when buying the bit set by itself you only get one side if the holder not the top...bummer
I ordered the power play, and would really like it if I could replace the serrated blade with the scissors that I have on my power lock and wish I could find out if they could fit into the place where the serrated blade is and if it would line up with the mounting hole etc. I cannot find anything on it anywhere.
Having owned both a SOG S44 and B66 multi tools, I think they've once again not tested their tools enough. I love the pliers but the handles are normally unocmfortable and the extra tools are often either terrible or just acceptable. I love my S44's pliers though, especially after a few mods.
Were those standard hex bits you can buy from anywhere or are they somehow proprietary like the flat bits from skeletool? What other multi tools have standard hex bits if any, I been looking for that but am disappointed SOG dropped the spring assist knife on the PowerPlay.
The Powerplay would've been perfect for me had they included some scissors....maybe in place of the jeweler's flathead. I might still get it anyway since I like multitools.
I'll say it, the PowerPlay looks like a Leatherman Wave clone.... But with a better selection of tools than what you get on the Wave. Yeah, I said it. it's true. Looks like I know which multi-tool I'll be buying next.
How is the selection of tools better? It's missing scissors... Only thing it has over the wave is an awl and that to me is not a fair compromise. Your needs may differ however, but scissors are an EDC must for me.
In that case, the Wave is one of the worst multi-tools for you. Those tiny scissors are pathetic compared to every other pair on every other multi-tool made by SOG, Gerber, Victorinox, and even other Leathermen.
NGMonocrom Yeah I agree with you there, they aren't great scissors by any means. I own most of what Leatherman has to offer and same goes for Victorinox. The other's, SOG and Gerber, all make sub-par quality tools in my opinion, cheap soft steel and poor build quality as well as some questionable design choices. I currently carry a Charge Tti alongside a Victorinox Pioneer X. The Pioneer X fills the niches that the Charge doesn't i.e. Awl and a better pair of scissors. The scissors on the Tti are last resort only but I'd rather have them than none at all, and since the SOG Powerplay has none I think i'll pass on that one.
The Surge has huge by multitool standards scissors, i cut exhaust gasket material, aluminum cans, and many other things. However the surge is a huge tool. There is no perfect solution. i don't personally like the reactor. the powerplay doesnt thrill me either. My EDC is the Power Assist. Abit heavy, but does the job i need it to and then some.
Jewelers flathead was a nice touch.
Love the reactor

This is really neat I like it
Did ya'll mention it has a ruler on it too? I didn't catch it if you did. Just a tip, unless I'm wrong. Too lazy to go back and rewatch.

I believe the Powerplay uses standard hex bits so you can use any ones that you want.

If that’s “streamlined”, i worry what their “busy” would look like.
Reactor ftw. 2.5inch black blade.
