    Ace is giving me "working dog" vibes. It's pet ownership but on hard mode. Don't beat yourself up too much. Just git gud. Cesar Millan's approach helped me through my first dog which was a German Shepherd. It was brutal in the beginning but once we understood each other everything else fell into place. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope Ace brings you as much joy as Odin did for me.

    Honestly is probably not your dogs fault the issue is why I won’t ever take my rescue dog to the park or anywhere off leash dogs may be

    You’re not failing.
    Dogs are pack animals and always try to advance their position in the pack.
    You did right by trying to get Ace’s attention. You are trying to control the situation. The poodle owner is failing, in not controlling her dogs.
