    And about the Snickers. Its a sad story behind it. When he was young his mother took him to a Carnival. She gave him a snickers bar and told him to stay near the Carousel then abandoned him, so the snickers represents the fake love his mother gave him.

      There's even more to it, but there are a lot of videos if you wanted to get all caught up on the story. Like the chocolate is also about a pill addiction story arc he's had going on that's in relation to his past. The extended version makes it a little more clear, with him collapsing after eating the chocolate as he did before with pills, and being dragged down and disappearing in to the candy entirely. It's a creepy visual seeing the pile of candy "swallow" him.

      It's a fictional story inside of BTS universe, though. I'm just making sure these non-kpop fans don't misunderstand it~;)

    • @AthenisKS81
      @AthenisKS81 6 лет назад +10

      Yeah. That's why I mentioned it was a story arc. But being more clear about that, just in case, can't hurt. I can't imagine what some people must think if they read any theories without knowing it's just a story :)

    • @ringmania
      @ringmania 6 лет назад +14

      Athenis I was the one..:( I was new to BTS, didn't have any ARMY friends when I bought 'Love Youself:Her' album. I read the notes and I was sooo sad thinking how hard their lives were and how brave they open it up. (Cuz I overheard they went through so much hardship) I figured it's fictional about a week later when another ARMY told me.. She was laughing at me so hard..:(

      Alpacalypse Productions but don't worry, the fire was controlled and Jimin was standing in the exact spot where he wouldn't get drenched. So it was a safe filming for the boys.

      JIMIN YOU GOT NO JAMS oh man it's all in those angles huh? That's quite clever, we were quick to assume CGI because here in NA it's very rare for celebs to be near open fire and crazy water even if it's controlled. That's some real dedication!

  • @silverdeer4876
    @silverdeer4876 6 лет назад +39

    If you watch the behind the scenes of Fake Love, you'll know that the fire, the floor falling, the blinking panels, and the 2 waterfalls were not CG and were real. The fire was controlled by a hole in the floor(that's what it looks like), the floor falling was all real, and Jungkook(the guy running) had a rope attached to him so even if he failed to run fast enough, the rope would prevent him from falling onto the hard floor. Jimin(the guy standing between the waterfalls) stood in the exact spot where he wouldn't get drenched. But yeah, his socks did get wet, though. And maybe his shirt got speckled with water a bit. As for the blinking panels behind Taehyung(the guy wearing contacts and a tie dye shirt), it was controlled by the director, so whenever he pressed a button, the lights would flash. Pretty cool, huh?
    So yeah. Everything was filmed safely, no CG used, have a nice day! And maybe react to Spring Day by BTS?😂

    It is really funny to watch you say "Look at all that money" when just 3 years ago their company couldn't even afford to borrow the cars to shoot a music video so they just used staff's cars (I Need You - Original Ver.). I still believe their MVs look so good, bc of the very talented people that work on them. BTS and BigHit are working with amazing video shooting crew - LUMPENS. Most of the effects you have seen in these two MVs are practical. The fire is real, the floor dropping is real, the water is real.
    Also, there is the ongoing storyline in the BTS' music videos and some other short films they put out. Part of the fun of being a BTS fan (an ARMY) is to dig deep into those videos and try to figure out what is actually going on. There are multiple references to the literature, movies and other artists. A lot of symbolism is going on. 'I Need You" Original Ver. is a good place to start if you are interested.
    BTS stands out a little bit from other k-pop artists (not everyone, but from the general picture that k-pop is viewed as). The idea of BTS back in 2012-2013 was that they will be a hip-hop group, but their company decided along the way to change the concept and they finally debuted as an idol group that rap, sing and dance in 2013. The story of BTS is the story of the underdogs who followed their dreams and worked really hard to fight the prejudices, hate and false rumors. They are unique bc they participate in making their own music, mainly their rap-line RM, Suga and J-Hope, but all of the members participated in music-makingin the past. Their lyrics are actually often poetic and talk about social issues, mental health, are motivational, comforting and very relatable. A lot of the fans who relate to the stories in the songs find comfort in those lyrics.
    Examples:
    'Whalien 52' talks about how we feel that no one understands us, about the lonliness and separation. It is based on the factual story of a 52-hertz whale - a whale which calls at the very unusual frequency of 52 Hz so it can't communicate with any other whales.
    'Tomorrow' talks about following your dreams no matter what, never giving up and enduring the difficulties along the way.
    'Baepsae' talks about privilaged people that have connections and succeed easier and how people without privilage are stared down upon bc they're believed not to try hard enough. Baepsae means crow -tit - that is a small bird with really short legs. In the song storks are the privileged people and crow-tits (try hards) try their best but their legs are too short and can't keep up with the storks.
    In 'Dope' they talk about how hard work and endurance leads to success.
    There are a lot.
    BTS have a lot of haters and they respond to them through their music - you should check out the Cypher series created y the rap-line. Recently during their 5th anniversary celebration they dropped a dis track on soundcloud called 'Ddaeng'. Ddaeng is quite difficult to translate so if you ever read the lyrics to the song, make sure to look for the additional translators' notes (Korean is a beautiful language full of double meanings, creative metaphors etc. and BTS use plays on words a lot). 'Mic Drop' was like the epilogue to the cyphers, in which they tell they haters to look at all of their achievements and maybe not see eachother ever again. Haters didn't back off, so in Ddaeng they actually are like "Thank you haters, because of you, we are successful".
    BTS has four amazing vocalists that improved over the years a lot. All of their voices are different and very distinguished. Their way of singing is very emotional an makes you feel things every time. You should check out vocal-line's collab with Steve Aoki from the latest album, the song is cald "The Truth Untold". Their solos from the album WINGS are also worth attention. Jungkook the youngest sings in 'Begin' about his bandmates that are like brothers to him and how they make him who he is. In 'Lie' Jimin sings about being cought in a lie and how he would ike to free from it and come back to his innocent self. V in 'Stigma' delivers soulfull performance with a jezzy feel to it, it's a song related to the music videos' storyline (I assume). Jin sings 'Awake' in which he is unsure if he can make it, but assures us and himself that he will try hard anyway. I recommend also solo tracks of the rap-line from this album: RM - 'Reflection', J-Hope - 'MAMA' and Suga - 'First Love'.
    BTS are great dancers. You can watch their dance practices that they publish on their channel BANGTANTV.
    Okay, this is getting to long. If I was to recommend any introductions to BTS I suggest:
    1) This is a fan made series by gadaursan introducing BTS (it's still ongoing). It is amazingly edited and gives a real documentary vibe because of the usage of clips in which members talk about themselves and answer to questions in different interviews etc. ruclips.net/video/CtuqGZ3Gv3U/видео.html
    2) Official BTS documentary Burn The Stage (It's the paid content on RUclips Red, but firdt episode is for free): ruclips.net/video/j6zWwAoEi_w/видео.html
    3) Introducing BTS fanmade series by BTS Fambases (ongoing) ruclips.net/video/94fnvowB_xg/видео.html

      MsMidorino yeah we seem to have caught them on the rise rather than on the come up. Hearing where they were 3 years ago vs now is really inspiring. As we ourselves have been trying to grow and expand, so we can relate to underdogs well. Going into it we thought it was an overnight craze but we see the old adage of "it took me 40 years to become an overnight success" rings true. Thank you for the info we are learning haha

      All K-Pop groups are different.
      Each groups have diverse music despite following a single genre. BTS just tends to look more different because they are one of the few Korean bands that put storyline on their MV's making it more intriguing and interesting.
      Also other bands do contributes to their songs its not only BTS that does that, and please give Big Hit and Lumpens staffs a credit on the production and writing part.
      BTS cannot do it all alone without them.

    i wont call that 'kpop music' since kpop is an industry term i call it 'bts music' they are diff than other groups their music is diff their lyrics are top notch (they are one of the few few idol groups that heavily involved in writing and producing their own stuff) and they write about real issues like criticism of societal conventions in south korea, youth unemployment rates, socio-economic inequality, mental health stigma, the desire to be free from societal judgement, the pressure of the education system, toxic relationships...etc they have most of these topics in their b-side tracks that got most their fans into them plus they do them with good beats even their diss tracks are so lit like their CYPHERS and their latest song that was free as a gift to their fans called 'DDAENG' they used so many word play and culture references in this song that took us many trans to understand them lol
    yes they came from small broke company and faced so many hate in their home country from media play to false accusations...etc but they fought the odds and made it with their ARMY (their fandom name)

      BTS is not a separate thing from kpop, as kpop is literally just popular Korean music, which is what BTS makes. The only difference with their music is that it is more westernized (up for opinion, but some people think this way) than other groups.

    • @jorey2009
      @jorey2009 6 лет назад +33

      Mdsn Kvny korean themselves call kpop "idol music" and it does not represent korean music (pop,r&b,hiphop...etc) acording to korean critics and GP and "westernized"??? how they still sing in korean aren't they!! and what do you think the kpop music then ,korean?! no it's all westerniaed (hiphop,r&b,edm...etc) it's all from the west , what you mean is bts don't sound like 1837392 kpop group and that is good since 80% of kpop music sound the same and most doesn't hold any meaning to it's lyrics so it is a good thing that people (not kpop fans) start to see bts as korean artist and not just "kpop"

    • @n-silvabts9178
      @n-silvabts9178 6 лет назад +32

      Dear jorey-ARMYFORLIFE, please, be careful with your words. It's totally ok to praise our beloved boys, they sure deserve it, but avoid comparing them to other artists, specially saying BTS is better or different from them. First, BTS consider themselves equal with all other South Korean artists. The fact is that they are South koreans and they make pop music, so they are kpop artists. Second, they deeply admire and respect many of them. They see many of them as their sunbaes (senior who inspire them). So, we, as ARMY, need to think our commnets carefully before posting. We, as ARMY, have a responsability to not stain BTS image, ok? Love from an older ARMY.

      N-Silva kpop i have been in kpop since the first gen then slowly start to slip away from it with the 2nd gen since it become to manufactured esp with 3rd gen (i'm not talking about korean music) there is a diff between it and kpop (not all korean music are kpop just the 'idol' music in it) and i'm not saying all kpop acts are manufactured but a good 90% of it are you can't deny that. i just prefer to drop the 'kpop' term since it erase the individuality in it's acts and put them in one small box so when people listen to one bad/good song well thing all kpop are the same good or bad it just sad

    BTS is much different from the "industry churn" they were hated for several years by the underground scene where the rappers came from because they became idols & the KPOP music industry, media, other fandoms stated they would amount to nothing because they were not from 1 of the big 3 companies. Thank you for your reaction.🌹 Diving into the mv/series that tells an overall story and has you trying to guess what is going on from one video to the next is an adventure in and of itself. Example: JHope & the Snickers. In a previous video from a previous album he was abandoned as a child by his mother and all she left him was a Snickers bar to eat. So now the candy bars represent her abandonment of him and his fear not allowing him to love. It really is genius what they do.

  • @chandramallika1990

    Many of BTS's music video are aesthethic and every their MV have a story line same with their chorepography which connected with the lyrics. All of their song have a deep meaning. If you watched their MV's make sure you click the CC button for activated english subtitles. Almost their MV used symbolism. Their company always uploaded video behind the scene of BTS's music video. By the way in the MV Fake Love the ground falling down, the fire, and the water it's all real not CG.

    C'mon, guys, BTS is the best worldwide musical boyband, 'Crème de la Crème'. They come from the K-pop musical genre but they already surpassed the field. They create pure quality songs in terms of content and musicality, they produce their own songs, they are insurpassable dancers, they are unique, original and have great personalities. One can say without doubt that they are the New Beatles of this era. Personally I am BTS fan but I have never been into K-pop. BTS is Pure Genius !

    A lot of their popular videos have behind the scenes/the making of videos.
    BTS is pretty different from most K Pop groups. You should really check out Nobodies to Legends and Who is BTS: The Seven Members of Bangtan to get a further grasp of the band.
    A lot of people look and focus on the end/current result and completely forget or ignore how they began, so I definitely suggest you guys check some more info!
    Ps: About the candy/snickers, the entirety of the Fake Love MV is based off the story line inside the BTS music videos and album notes (fictional notes/diary entries of the band, based off the character in their videos)

      Alpacalypse Productions no problem. As a person who's fallen deeply into the rabbit hole that is BTS you can count me being there to help explain haha.
      If you're interested in lyricism: Pied Piper, Singularity (Intro to albums are typically done solo by BTS), Spring Day, and Airplane pt. 2.
      Aesthetics/visuals/cinematography: Blood Sweat and Tears, Not Today and Spring Day.
      Music: All of them, hah. But Dope, Go Go, DNA, and Save Me are pretty diverse choices.
      Choreography: Blood Sweat and Tears, Fire, and Danger are highly recommended.
      PS: Lyrics, Production and Choreography are all co-creared by the members of BTS, with some being made solely by a member or 2.

    About 'Fake Love'
    1. Water, Fire, Sneakers, Trailer park, Cellphone and flower are all symbolically connected with a fictional storyline BTS made since 2015. About 7~80% of their MVs are connected to this story since 'I Need U' MV. They even slip a little note about the story in their physical albums so ARMYs (BTS fandom) can analyze and put peices together.
    2. Are they CG? Depends on the definition. Water falling, Window blowing, Floor dropping, A door coming out from a wall is real with BTS members were actually at the scene. But the fire part, the explosion is real, and the member was in front of fire, but he wasn't there when explosion happened. He was composed to it after.
    3. I like you guys~!! Keep up the good work~!!

    BTS process was different. Each of them auditioned but most of them never really aimed to be a kpop idol. In fact, the concept that they were going for was more on hiphop. Like Suga, for example, he auditioned to become a producer for BigHit but ended up in being part of the group because they saw potential in him. All of them have been living together since their trainee days so basically, they know each other already for 8 years or so. They are not like any other groups that are being controlled especially on making music. In fact, BigHit lets them produce and write their own music. In short, unlike any other companies and group, BigHit gave BTS the privilege to do what they want and to always relate the audience in their music. That is why they are called the Bulletproof BoyScouts in Korea because they said themselves that they want to protect and act like a bulletproof vest for the youth and for the people through the power of their music.

But thank you for the comment, you are not only showing us you love BTS but most importantly.. why you love them. We dig it!

    The Snickers bar represents the only thing Jhope's character (the man lying on the pile of snickers bars) has left of his mother who abandoned him at an amusment park when he was a child. It's part of a huge storyline beginning with the music video for "I Need U" that came out in 2015.

    BTS's music videos are known for not using a lot of CG's. The water falls and fires are all real. Instead of using CGs they normally build a set for music videos. All their music videos are also filmed in Korea. Yes, they were trainees at Bighit entertainment before their debut in 2013. The youngest member of this group was only 14 when he joined the company. These guys spent their teen years together as trainees, and have lived together for the past 7 years and are still living together.

    Mic Drop was dedicated to the haters. BTS aren't from the BIG 3 Companies in Korea (JYP, YG, SM) and they got a lot of hate and did not have support from most of Korea. They were told they would not make it in the industry. They don't have many songs bragging. A lot of their songs deal with real life problems as well as struggles they go through. Their New Album they have out (Love Yourself:Tear) talks about the struggle of not loving yourself, loving others before you(being dependent on others),etc. I really think you should check out BTS: FROM NOBODIES TO LEGENDS as well as Who Is BTS? BTS are hyped up for a reason, not just because of their good looks and catchy lyrics. Thanks for the reaction!!!

    • @snisa92
      @snisa92 6 лет назад +2

      yes. They are not coming from BIG3 so thats why currently korea are so surprised when BTS got no.1 in billboard 200 for album when they are not even active on shows in korea. Thats because its been rumored that Big3 tried to surpress BTS popularity in korea so that they cannot top their own artists. For example, spring day is so famous in korea and some koreans are really surprised when they got to know it is BTS song because that song is so good to just be kpop group song. BTS experienced a lot of hardship/accusation in their own country and they got way famous internationally first because international army found something unique about BTS that other kpop groups dont have. International army especially western fans always value authenticity of artists music and that where BTS come through. If you really pay attention, BTS always put their heart when singing to their music. For example outro:tear, the truth untold, spring day, run, etc. Recently, some music insiders spoke about BTS and mostly of them quite impressed with BTS work ethic. They suprised that BTS work like indie musician despite being top star right now. Means they are really dedicated with their own music. BTS’s is initially a kpop group leaning to hiphop genre so Mic Drop is closer to BTS’s older music. The older songs were good, they don’t age 😂. 2 of the rappers were underground rappers, 1 is part of a hiphop dance crew, and 4 vocalists. All of the members participate in writing lyrics of the songs, Suga (rapper) and RM (rapper) were said to be an all rounder. They produce and compose tracks, along with their producers.

    so BTS music videos are all part of a storyline that's been going on since 2015. The candybars, water, and fire are all significant to the story as they are referencing things that have happened in the past for each of those characters. The fact that there was SO MUCH (water, fire, candy) I would interpret as them becoming overwhelmed with the memories they were trying to suppress.
    The thing is, they have never confirmed any of the storyline, so it's up to the fans to watch and theorize about what's going on. That's one of the most fun parts of BTS music videos. If you're ever up to taking the challenge of seeing if you can figure it out, the story starts in the mv called I Need U. Good luck! :D

    Everything in this MV has meaning...actually BTS are super extra and ALL their MVs are part of a larger storyline. To answer your question, the candy bars (and the carnival equipment J-Hope has locked himself inside a room with) are symbolic of his character’s story arc within the BTS MV universe. Hoseok (J-Hope’s real name and the name of his character in the MVs) was abandoned by his mother at a carnival and she left him only a chocolate bar. It is heavily implied (if not outright stated) in other MVs, that Hoseok then developed trust issues (him not letting Jeongguk into the room in Fake Love) and Munchausen Syndrome (his doctor’s chart in the MAMA short film, and his pills throughout the HYYH MVs).
    There’s also little nods of symbolism for each member’s MV-verse characters. Yoongi and fire, Jimin and water, Namjoon and shipping crates & mirrors, etc. I won’t get into the symbolism of all that here, we’d be here all day lol. But you can watch the other MVs and theory vids if you wanna know more. ;)

    Good video, and while I agree alot of money was spent on the music video, its probably not as easy as just throwing money at it. After all, very few successful artists in the US make cool music videos, let alone ones like this. I think BTS does such a good job getting their message/aesthetic across through their choreography, cinematography, fashion and music all together in one package
    BTS are also known for their versatility in genre - Pop, Rap, R&B, Ballad, Latin, Funk, EDM etc. They're also different from other current Kpop bands (I can't get into other groups at all) in that they're very authentic not manufactured (produce/co-produce their own music) and write songs about difficult topics that are usually a taboo to talk about in Korea

    Now you've seen Fake Love's MV. Welcome to BTS' fictional world, that we call BTS' UNIVERSE: THE FICTIONAL WORLD OF BANGTAN. You see, BTS have this story line that runs through their series of music videos, short films and highlight reels. This story line started from their MOST BEAUTIFUL MOMENT IN LIFE ALBUM (HYYH) to their WINGS ALBUM until their LOVE YOURSELF (HER & TEAR) ALBUMS. Everything is connected to the story, that's the reason why there are a lot of symbolism in each of their MVs. (for eample: In the FAKE LOVE MV, what connects J-hope to the Sickers, Jimin and the water, Suga and the fire, RM and the mirror, V and the cellphone, Jin and the flower, and on the teaser the objects that they and what they trade it for, etc.). There's a DEEPER meaning of everything, I mean literally DEEPER than what you think. There is so much more to discover about BTS, not just thei music, artistry, talent, lyrics, etc. The whole cinematic universe(fiction) they got going on is another layer that adds so much into their crafts.

    its more like a technology/system which constructed & differ by agencies. the bigger an agency, stronger financial stability.. the more complex their training system is (singing, dancing, acting, languages, ceremony conducting, visual management, how to do in variety show etc).
    big hit didnt hve resources/finance for extravagant training system for their trainees (small company & financial problem). the reason bts took 3 years (2010-2013) to debut was bcoz the ceo are still searching for the members in that time 😅. of course bts members called it as "trainee period". the moment the last member joined bts in late 2012, the company has started preparing for bts debut & set its date (middle of 2013).
    to be distinct from others, to put themselves among those skilled trainees, bts put out so many contents for fans since day 1, 2010 (free musics & vids, unofficial mvs, vlogs, blogs etc). thats why as their fame rose, they were known with active social network contents (which prolly they dont expect).

    DDaeng (RM, Suga, JHope - audio/live performance)

    omg yeah same it's reminds me of twentyonepilots' holding on to you mv. And like TOP, this group started from the bottom, talking about mental health, youth, social politics and their snapping songs to the haters like : cypher 1-4 and ddaeng, you should check those bops

    The CC/subs is available for almost every BTS official MV, you can turn on to understand the lyrics. And for each MV there is behind the scene video. You can search "Fake love MV Shooting Bangtan subs". Watch the MV Shooting and you'll see there is no CG in Fake Love. The waterfall, fire, snickers, falling floor, etc all are real

    Thanks for this reaction video.. btw Bighit is not strict with their MV copyright to youtubers. So there's no need for you to cut it from time to time.. pls react also to their MV Not Today, DNA, Dope, Spring Day. BTS genre is different that's why we don't call them kpop. They are the only group in Korea who is not from the Big3 company and BTS also write and produce their own songs..

      Bambi-BTS BangtanJin curious what do you categorize the music under? For us here in North America searching Kpop brings up BTS... But we all know north america is wrong quite often haha so to correct that what genre do you place it under?

    Everything BTS uses in their MVs is REAL (NO CGI) just allot of extreme editing plus CC are always available for all of BTS MVs...oh the good thing about Bighit being a small record company is that there’s no need to really worry about copyright issues or blocks b/c they copyright all of BTS MVs and Dance Practices before posting them. It’s only for certain videos that might be copyrighted or strikes are variety live performances, interviews, clips/videos of the members etc! So, there’s NO need to pause, skip, cutout, low volume, super small pop screen...you are safe with Bighit!!

    Steve Aoki doesn’t own any rights the song itself...it’s owned and written by RM aka RapMonster, Steve had gotten permission from BTS/Bighit to make this remix and first Japanese American to be physically featured in their Mic Drop Remix MV besides local artist collabs they’ve done.
    They do have another of this remix that Steve does with Desiigner who’s ONLY part of the audio version....he was NEVER met to be in the MV at all!

    I want to say some words to not only your channel but people who reacts to kpop songs and mv's..
    Why everytime someone is reacting to a kpop song or for this case a BTS mv they give more attention to the production fees ext and visual ( i mean im glad they do cuz bts and big hit work so hard on visual and they do a really good job on that ) but why don't they pay attention to the vocals ? Jhope, Namjoon , Suga 's rap lines are incredible .. V's deep voice ? jungkook and Jimin's angel voices ? jin's high notes ? I've seen so many people ( non kpop fans ) reacting to bts and other kpop mv's but they don't actually pay attention to what is the most important...
    From an Army !

      No worries, we typically film and shoot so our appreciation and interest goes in that direction. The most we can give sound is how catchy it is, what sounds we like but as we aren't audio guys (shy of maybe Shawn who joins us from time to time) there's not much we can say there. Keep in mind these reactions are literally "sit down and watch" so we don't even know what we see till the moment of. Hope that clarifies things, thanks for watching -G

    not sure if you read this but yeah theyre not cgi! for the fake love mv, at least. if you watch behind the scenes of the mv theyre all real, even the floor collapsing. mic drop's a lot of cg obvs but the explosion was real at least haha

      Alpacalypse Productions oh cool! and as for context - it’s ok if u dont get it bc theyve been building this “BTS Universe” since 2015 where there’s a very specific linear storyline that’s incredibly confusing if you’re not actually a fan and look out for things. but just enjoy the aesthetics! :)

    If you watch more vids you will see that a lot are connected. Its very complex and sad and deep. This MV is connected to those stories as well. Hmmm this MV isnt about how much it cost, its about the message. Its about the beauty of facing your demons and loving yourself. :) I hope you all wont look at the cost of vids more than the Artistic value and meaning of their other MVs. They are amazing. I subscribed. :)
