Lets face it, its amazing how Draenor looked like before the shattering.
I think both are amazing in their own way. There is a certain pleasure in watching the same locations in different timelines/dimensions. Hence, why I loved Ocarina of Time and all the time traveling.
RIP Gorgrond and Spires of Arak :(
Gorgrond is actually part of Blades Edge. Blades Edge is Gorgrond and Frostfire Ridge after they smashed together.
Great comparison! Really enjoyed seeing the differences and changes that were made to improve and maintain a good portrayal of Draenor relative to the Outland map that Blizzard already made.
Yes, I think WoD is underrated...
I agree, it may have fell short when it came to the social and multiplayer aspect. However, it had great immersion into the lore by showing us the big events that lead to WCIII which most of the fans come from. It also served as a good marketing decoy while they were developing Legion in secret since most people suspected WoD to be the BC successor. TommyDaGreatest
+CrushedJustice WoD always felt like a fan service bonus to me. It didn't follow the old lore though. Draenor survived :P
TommyDaGreatest
Well dimension shifting is the current trend in pretty much most media right now just for nostalgia LOL
+CrushedJustice I liked it but it felt out of place.
The timewalking dungeons were rad though.
I wish they made one with Tirisfal Glades as it was before Lordaeron fell.
Blade's Edge really went from Snow and mountains to Desert and spikes huh, And what about Netherstorm?
Yup. A spell was cast to protect it from dragon attacks, which is why all the spikes exists in the first place to make it harder for them to land. They tell you about it if you, you know, read the quests...
Forgot to answer about Netherstorm. Netherstorm was supposed to be in WoD as an island, Farahlon (the original name before it got turned into the storm). But it was cut out of the game. You can still get missions in your garrison referring to Farahlon but it doesn't exist right now.
Hadn't played WoW for so long. Came back a few weeks a go to level a new character from 1-120, just to enjoy the time. Level 91 now and looking forward to "Past" Outlands. :D
Oh no
This is how it all starts. Still here or did you leave in Shadowlands like so many people? :P
What a sad fate. Draenor turned into the crashed, twisted lands of outland.
It's kind of shocking to me how few people are aware that Draenor and the Outlands are basically the same thing. Despite some zones / cities etc having the same names ^_^"
I don't believe that Outland and Dreanor are the same damn thing. I don't think the "shattering" really happened, rather, I think that what happened is that the scepter or Sargeras created a replica of Dreanor landscape in the Nether, and teleported people there, while the planet became inhabited by no one .
@@maxopaladino That's one... uh... theory. Wouldn't explain all the cloned characters though.
@@TommyDaGreatest The characters weren't cloned, rather, teleported. Only the planet was cloned. Since demonic magic can't clone life, only matter.
@@maxopaladino I have read so many lore theories in the 19 years I've played this game, and this is the first time I've heard anything remotely like this.
That's not even a far-fetched theory either, considering how the Twisting Nether exists "parallel" to the Great Dark Beyond, this might even be more accurate than most other people would assume reading it at first.
@@ulfgaar7724 Thanks for the credit homie
So much nostalgia 😮
You can always go back. Especially with chromie time you can scale so it feels like leveling there again. Which, to be fair, is extremely tedious. Nice environments though.
I have to say I like the old Nagrand better. It's not even nostalgia since I started playing in BFA. The older version just seemed more lively and spacious.
and the floating islands made it unique
The floating islands didn't exist in Draenor cause it didn't go apeshit crazy yet :P
WoW music is some Hans Zimmer level of epic!
Yes, both Everquest II and WoW has some incredible music!
It would be awesome if blizzard revamped all the old zone and updated the texture so Outland could have the textures of draenor
I personally like the old zones. They are very nostalgic.
so good man good job
Thanks! Took a lot of time to create :)
Great video, kinda sad too.
Thanks. I like the sad music so I try to use it much in my videos. I think you should watch my fan made trailer "The Legion is Here" as well that I made during the Pre-launch of Legion :)
@@TommyDaGreatest Will take a look, thanks for the sugestion!
Whats the time difference from draenor to outland?
I honestly don't know, but it should be before TBC sometime as the Hand of Guldan never happened.
I even thought Draenor is the world owned by Draenei hahahahaha
That would be Argus. And technically its kind of Draenor too as they settled there :P
It's so sad looking at all this...
Why sad? Content is still there.
@@TommyDaGreatest I'm not talking about the game as "a game", it's sad when you feel the history 😝
So why are Outland and draenor so similar? Plz explain anyone rlly
Gummy Lord Because Draenor is Outland before Gul'dan destroyed it and it turned into floating wastes.
This Draenor is from another dimension though so the Hellfire Citadel didn't exist in the normal Draenor since it was built after the corruption spread. But Garrosh started building it inspired by the one in Outland after escaping to the new Draenor.
+TommyDaGreatest so it really is just a pile of rock floating in space?
epetrea kinda. Sometime in past of Outland (when it was Draenor), shaman Nerzul opens multiple portals to many other worlds. This portals was very unstable, and eventually they consume and transfer parts of planet to other dimensions. So Outland is a bunch of rock stuck in inter-dimensional rift.
I hope you mean ner'zhul
its same place but different time :)
7:10 song name?
Jaina Proudmoore theme from MoP
so basically draenor its outlands but before legion destroyed it?,
Yes, but in a different dimension.
@@TommyDaGreatest it was destroyed by legion no ? but Garrosh changed time
Music at 6:40?
Jaina Proudmoore theme from MoP
@@TommyDaGreatest Alright thanks.
This does not explain the difference differences and similes between the continents/possible worlds of Draenor and Outland please redefine
Draenor (Warlords of Draenor) is an alternate dimension where the Hand of Guldan never erupted in Shadowmoon Valley so the continent was never destroyed unlike the Dark Portal (Burning Crusade) version which was annihilated by that eruption and eradicated.
