Mariusz Pudzianowski was a monster in his prime. Strongest man is not just about raw strength, but about endurance, speed, cardio and determination. Pudzianowski had speed, cardio, endurance, raw strength and had iron will where he competed and won with an injured knee. I remember looking at a double bicep pose of his in just trunks and even at 320 lbs, he was shredded to the bones with tissue paper thin skin around his waist. People don't realize how difficult it is to be so lean and compete in strength competitions. There is a reason why strongmen like Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall, Zydrunas and Hafthor carry so much fat around their waist as it helps with counterweights and supporting the weight using soft surfaces while Pudz used to be dry and shredded to the bones competing with the Hercules look no one else could match
@Freshprankstv1 That's not true what so ever, Big Z beat him multiple times in straight up power lifts side by side. Car deadlift especially, I was there
Strongest Mr Olympia almost definitely, but there have been a couple guys with legit better numbers in actual powerlifting competition, so it does get hard to say. What is definite is that Ronnie was respectable enough in his strength and work ethic that real strongmen and powerlifters will tip their hat
@@stevegeorge6880 I would still argue that Ronnie is the Strongest bodybuilder ever. His résumé of lifts done during the Olympia prep, some lifts being carb depleted at 5 weeks out with ~3% shredded to the bone bodyfat levels has never been matched. It's not only about the 3 powerlifting lifts... It's all the movements across all body parts.
Mariusz had a crazy winning mentality, very stubborn and hard-working. If someone was on his heels, his level and records would be even greater. In the last part of his career, when he was winning almost everything, he started focusing on other things and it was a wise decision
1998, Poland, I bought my 1st Flex Magazine. It was right after Mr O. I was pushing weights for about two years, started when I was 16, On the front cover was Ronnie winning his 1st Mr O.
