This short is better than all "Iron Fist" Seasons.... She has enough charisma to deserve her own series. Great job behind the camera and all the crew too Kellie!!!!
I believe a person behind the camera is actually the key to make every fight scene in an action movie more realistic, together with a key person behind the choreography. The most stunning camera shooting I've ever seen is Kingsman2 the Duo scene fighting with the bad cowboy secret agent. It's absolutely surprising when the audiences' view angle keep moving around the actors as if they are in the movie.
A lot of love, sweat, time, and effort went into making this. Great job. I only wish that high budget mainstream film studios put as much love and care into making films as you have.
I come back to this film annually because I am just so amazed by Amy's performance, Cecep's choreography, the cinematography, the rest of the cast and crew, and the music. It was really cool to hear Amy talk about this film on Corridor Crew and get all the BTS on the fighting and choreography.
Gr8 job Maddie. Also the inclusion of Rikki Toth was a masterstroke that gave those scenes a real sense of grace and stability giving the film balance. Amy for Expendables 4. Encore!
I didn't knew an occidental martial artist so badass since Cynthia Rothrock in the 80's and 90's, and here's this breathtaking beautiful woman who also is a real badass... I'M in love :)
Couple of things... 1: Amy Johnston is amazing and should already have been a big action star. Skills, talent, looks & charisma. The whole package. 2: Kudo's to the entire crew for all their passion and effort, it is clearly a labor of love. 3: the camerawork hides a couple of crucial moments: - the way Amy defeats the man mountain guy is unclear - the moment she gets cut with the knife should be a close-up, now we don't register it - her defense against the knife strikes is also not clearly visible - the disarm of the main villain should also have been a close-up moment - it's good that Amy's character is vulnerable, but now she is vulnerable from the very start (gets beaten up as soon as she enters). This results in the intensity of the fight staying mostly around the same level. It would have worked even better if she had a badass entrance, dispatching the first two opponents in a swift manner, and then getting in more and more trouble as she progresses (too many opponents, stronger opponents, armed opponents, master fighter of equal or superior skill - and still in perfect shape...). Hope you guys are succesful in gettin this made into a feature, because you all more than deserve a shot at the big leagues!
totally agree!!! Stunt choreography is pretty good. But direction is not that good, lots of things happens out of frames, plenty of close angles shoots. It was supossed to be an inspired by the Raid short film but still it looks too "american". But she deserves a real oportunity, maybe not a big one, just to be the Scott Adkins female. Give plenty of great action B movies.
Yes, I really enjoyed to too, even with those bits you mentioned. The (perhaps deliberate) out of sight bits made certain bits hard to follow, we were made a assume certain things like how the guy got wrapped up in the shower hose w/o (what I would perceive as )the sound of it audibly happening. Great choreo though, and very good structure considering it's 10 mins.
Now this was an amazing fight sequence. Not since The Raid, have I watched in awe at a brilliant fight scene in a hallway or enclosed area. John Woo would give two thumbs up. Excellent display of camera angles, timing and display of martial arts skills. 👍👍👏
Even the credits music is an interpolation variation of the Raid (the strings at first are the starting melody for the building crescendo in Berandal) Great stuff. Saw this after catching an older Stuntwomen react at Corrider.

You can tell that there was a lot of work that went into the choreography and you can tell that everyone involved knew what they were doing, but for me, the camera was a little too tight on the action and the scenes were a little too dimly lit. Also, there were some poor decisions made with some of the shot staging...such as the camera placement during the exchange at 3:01. When Amy goes all Ip Man on the one henchman, the camera is placed BEHIND him so that you can't actually see her flurry of punches and you have to rely on the sound effects to inform you that she's repeatedly punching him. And the first knife swing at 6:09 went completely unseen. It just kind of...ended up being stabbed into the door frame and I couldn't tell you WHAT happened there. I'm not saying this was a bad scene and I'm not trying to attack the craft at work here. I'm simply saying that had the camera been pulled back a bit, more light been poured into the scene and the cinematographer chosen a few better angles, this could have been elevated quite a bit.
@@CarlosSanchez-my7zg Yes friend. I've seen it. And I personally own both it and it's sequel. And while they're both very similar to this short film insofar as the martial arts that are employed, and even sharing one of the actors, the action between them is not comparable in my humble opinion. And it all boils down to the cinematography. The blocking, pacing and shooting of the scenes in The Raid are of a completely different caliber. And even within the chaos of The Raid's fights, it's much easier to discern what's happening when and how. The visual language of them is easier to pick up on because of the way everything is framed. They're also far fewer cuts per segment in The Raid.

You need to start applying for these new Super Hero TV character roles or work out something with Netflix.
I'm trying to get into Netflix!!!
Ojalá se convierta en una pelicula con los mismos actores y la misma dirección, felicitaciones por tan excelente cortometraje.
agreed, also keep hitting that movies trail..if scarlett can be made to be believed to be superduper martial artist..you can do it
@@kelliemadison9225 Hi, eah, you will be a superhero, do you like character as special force agent in nanoarmour lightweight suite)
@@kelliemadison9225 Yeah I would love to see a series with you on Netflix. I love watching women kick ass and you've really impressed me with this short. We can definitely use some REAL female action heroes.
So this ISN'T a full movie? Shame if not. The fight choreography is so on point! Would love to see the full story.
Yeah you rarely see fight sequences, especially final fight sequences go that long. The one sequence where she disappears into another corridor seems like a cut in filming, but it still worked for me.
6:01 This dude always has wicked blades...but always ends up getting sliced by them too.
Justin Lujan I thought I was the only one who noticed this
Wow! This fight scene is siiiiick. They should have her play black widow. This is how that Character should scrap instead of all the corny stuff she does.😎🥋👍🏽
Super wonderful Amy
Wow , that's is awesome !! They should make a full clip movie.
5:55 the guys are just chilling and watching and you destroy there table and beat them up :(
Hoshpakk it was so obvious they were waiting for their turn to act
It was great seeing Cecep & Yayan in John Wick 3.
Very "Constantine" sounding with martial arts thrown in.
Sounds like the movie 'The Dark Knight, The JOKER, with Heath Ledger.
SHARON COETZEE
The Man, Sharon Shaw.
This looks amazing! I love your actress!
Such mesmerizing eyes! O.O
Amy johnston for sonya blade damn this was awesome and cecep as reptile my man moves so fast and sneaky while amy is focus and aggressive.
I've been saying it for years. These are the people that should do mortal combat movie
@@dannydark1452 agreed bro. That would br awesome
The Raid, amazing film.
Awesome Amy and Cecep
If they make a reboot of Cynthia rothrock lady dragon...Amy Johnston is the best one to play that character..
Or China O
Very Very nice movie
amy should act in the raid 3
good one
Sajumi I was thinking the same thing... she should audition in Thai and Hong Kong cinema... she's very fit.
einc70 but the raid is indonesian movie, not a thai/hongkong movie 😩
+abdiel basstrue but but his point was good
Sajumi NO!!!!! she should wouldn't be good enough for that movie but she did pretty good in this one
Watched this a few times.. it would be cool if this was a series or movie.
That's Cecep Arif Rahman from the final fight in 'The Raid ll'....she's ok but it's obvious he held back to make her look good, because she'd be finished in 30 secs or so if he went all out on her.
TheXecutioner09 exactly. This dude gave Iko Uwais a run for his money in The Raid 2. Now you want us to believe he gets his azz handed to him by a chick in spendex. Bullshyt😏😏😂😂😂
you're right
Yea shit is fake the human body is to heavy for wings to fly her to roof also.... Such bologne.
Lots of stunt doubles and editing here.
TheXecutioner09 well considering Gina Serrano is bigger and stronger than him and is an extremely well-trained fighter I'd say she would beat his ass.lol
Excellent fight sequences.
