Not in a million years did I think I could manage this but somehow, after a good 4-5 hours of practice, I've nailed it. Wow!.... it feels amazing to play! Trick is to start VERY slow and RELAX. A lesson for Blues Deluxe would be incredible. Is there a patreon tabbed version or lesson?

Bravo! I have always been confounded by Joe B’s mastery of the rhythms in his sequences; every note just kills: they’re so in the pocket it’s scary! Your lesson is a priceless look into how he picks and sequences them. Thank you so much!!! God bless you and stay safe in this storm, sir!

I have been watching a lot of these videos lately about Joe Bonamassa and Eric Johnson style licks and sequences but I have to say this one is the best one I’ve seen so I can’t wait to go back and practice along with this video so I can learn how to nail this stuff. Great teaching and demonstrations!! I would love to see you do a video just like this one about Neal Schon of Journey.

This was pretty mind expanding. It took a while to get the phrasing into my head. Resting slightly on the second A# made a big difference. Yesterday had me wondering what I've been doing in 52 years as a player. But this morning I'm fairly fluent up to 200bpm. So it works! I'd be interested to try more exercises shifting between divisions.

I am self taught and fell into a bad habit of trying pull off and hammer on too much ....stacato technique was eluding me, I'm a sax player by trade...my right hand falls behind, gets sloppy, when I'm trying to up pick and down pick. My right and left are not working together in a correct timing motion. That has become my technique problem. This is a great sound and why I'm trying to work harder on the pick hand. Great lesson I love Bonamassa. I like how you slowed it down. I spent so much time working fret hand. I fell behind in the learning process and got hung up at a intermediate level. Thanks for zooming in and slowing it down. I'm I'm subscribing on your page.

Ross, An excellent and enlightening video. You are living proof that even at a relatively young age you can achieve a very good standard of playing, a reflection of a lot of hard work no doubt, but the rewards are there for those who persist. I find the biggest inhibiter with guitar players is their lack of belief that they can play what at first may seem the impossible if they just work at it. You are an inspiration. Thank you.

Another thing Bonamassa is doing to get that speeding up effect is switching from 7 or 6 note sequences to 5 note or less sequences. Also he uses less or no repeated sequences. Since there's less notes involved, there's less 'busy-ness' and more movement across the fretboard. Great lesson! Great sequence.

You are one great player, I'm surprised you not in LA or Nashville, you seem to have figured it out, I play for a hobby, and really liked your theory course, but alas just a hack. I completely understand your reason for not answering questions, but its just natural people want to play as good as they are able and there are so many variables to getting the right sound nailed. Next time your in America let us know, so we can hear you live.

I used to say the same thing. Then when I hit 67 years of age, I decided to give it a try. Here's my advise. Oh, I'm now 77 years of age. Step one: get an electric guitar and practice amp, in the $250 range. Step two: learn Intervals first. Step three: learn the C major scale. Step four: Learn the minor pentatonic positions. Step five: learn the Diatonic Chord Series for the C major Scale. Step six: Learn the diatonic triads using the C major scale. Step seven: Learn the barre chord shapes. Now go play the Damned thang!!
