I build model trains and these videos are a great reference for planning scenery! And really cool to watch, thanks for taking the effort to post these 😉
Going to be a nice fast trip to Melbourne once the upgrades have been done and PT-V can get their fast commuter trains running there. Fun ride for the trailing crew.
Mate and I were in Melbourne the other week and saw these floating around Tottenam yard, then pretty sure we saw the tail end of you guys as we were driving up to Shepp to the car museum!
I always love seeing SSR's vintage locos. Especially the S series. So a "spoil" wagon.. is that just a specifically weighted car to put a lot of force down to seat the ties and ballast? Looks like some nice smooth rail! Very cool to see that you guys use mostly concrete ties on the main lines these days. Most of the mains here in the states are still using wood. Most of the northeast corridor commuter rail is concrete, though, for the high speed Amtrak trains.
Great video and music. Next time maybe you couldplay Little River Band. The view from a train always seems different than the same area from car or on foot. I just love the different landscapes of Austrailia. Thanks again.
Who is the genius who decided level crossings should be dual gauge while everywhere else has single gauge concrete sleepers? Give that person a promotion, that's excellence in cost management! 🤔
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVER In your opinion, where do you think money was wasted? what could've been done better? wouldn't it have made sense to gauge convert it now with all the disruptions that were required and all the money spent? The conversion is already happening slowly, slowly with lines around Victoria
@@nick-mt2oe they put Single gauge concrete sleepers in so the prospect of these lines becoming standard gauge has gotten a step further away in my opinion. New design rules state new level crossings must have broad and standard for future conversion, but the every line would have to have every sleeper removed and replaced with SG sleepers now. So I can't see any other broad Gauge line becoming SG any time soon.
I drive tanker trucks at the moment. I saw pacific national had a trainee program, it looked interesting enough and would like to try something different. What do you think, silly idea?

Hey Luke, love your videos too. You do great work!
Very interesting, thanks for posting. Andy from Adelaide.
Thank you to all the train drivers for what you do, put up with.
Hi Adam, another excellent and enjoyable video. It is good to see the upgrades that are going on to these country rail lines. Stay safe, cheers Lee.

Spoil bins take ballast, Sleepers and mud. On this run they were filled with ballast to increase the overall weight.

Southern Shorthaul Railroad doing a run on upgraded tracks. Wow.
Pretty bumpy for fresh track upgrades
The new bit is great the old part feels like it hasn't been touched since 1925
Sensational
What's the point of the double fence at then end of the platform at Murchison East at 7:39?
I have no idea. Buts another 5k for another one when there's money to throw away it seems.

Don't even start me.. So much money wasted

How many of these video's have been shot on your HC-X1500 camera?
The last one was the South Australia trip away. The rest have been phone or gopro. But it might be coming with me to work soon.

Always worth applying, the worst that can happen is nothing.
@@AUSSIETRAINDRIVERwell said, thanks m8
I travel that way by road a lot. How long is it now that this line has been worked on? Is it four years?
On and off for a while Yeah, trains stopped for 2 months for this one.
Have they at least done a decent job on the track?
Great video again. Can you double your time for reading of commentary as I had to pause as i couldn't read fast enough. Thanks
Sorry will do just don't want ruin the shot.
Shitbox313 Doing its best job at Fumigating the Insects.
About the only thing that Loco has ever done decently with Steamfail.
