Apologies.....I don't know how to exactly comment on this You Tube Video...A moment in time....In MY LIFE ....Standing OUTSIDE....Living in Las Vegas since 1978 I have been lucky enough to experience alot of amazing memories. Standing OUTSIDE the doors to the Riviera Showroom and being able to witness this concert 36 something years ago is incredibly ridiculous...now I can WATCH IT !!.....I Stood outside the Showroom just to listen and it was a memorable life moment. Thanks YOU TUBE !!!

I have bought all his other concerts except this one. This is the very best of him in 1984. Wish it was available in CD
1975-1990 was his sweet spot. By the three tenor’s concert 1994 and when I saw him in 1995 he had cut way back on upper register high C arias. Didn’t sing Nessun Dorma when I saw him at the Forum in LA. But can’t even describe how beautiful his sound was though. This concert was incredible.
Are you including his ‘Return’ to Llangollen on your list? The scenery adds the winning point for me.

In those years Pavarotti's voice and technique were beyond compare. Like all of the true greats, he makes horribly difficult arias sound natural and easy.
LurayFarmer Isn't that the truth!!his was quite possibly the easiest voice of the great tenors. Gigli sang with comparable ease, but largely from the mezzavoce. Pavarotti isn't terribly dissimilar, but his is more of a full-throated approach.
if you watch his body you can see subtle changes, but they are subtile, he was so concentrated, and he had consummate control, perfect diction, and a quality of voice that will never be seen again.

Pavarotti and he was astounded that I recognized The voice. How could I not?

It's like an athlete who does not do well at practice but performs when it counts in a game. That was Pavarotti. Sang with instinct.

Leone Magiera, his good friend and conductor and pianist for over 1000 concerts was correct in saying he was at his grandest in this time period.
Just bought Leone's book on Pavarotti - he knew more about him than anyone and shared his life with him.
@@merrilynhunt7819 its a great book, and probably the closest to what his character is, no ulterior motives, just admiration. he said a voice like pavarottis should never die.
