Well, she was the best on that day. While, some countries produce more top athletes, the truth is, that the greats can come from anywhere. South America is giving the world some incredible talent right now, too. While it is fine to root for a country, we should be glad to see everyone coming together to offer their best. Races are more exciting when there are surprises, and strong competition. I wonder if it would have been different if there had not been such a serious crash. But, kudos to her, she really earned this victory, and she was strong throughout the entire race.
In the beginning there are 22 riders in the race. But at the 2:55 mark they are showing the ONLY rider who is no longer in the race when the crash happens. GREAT camera work!!!
I saw a few years ago, a rider had huge splinters that needed to be removed from he butt cheeks after having fallen on the track. It hurt just watching it.
@@whoareyou99515 - The rider on the inside, in the red and yellow kit, is clearly the last wheel across the line but it was the rider nearest the camera, in the red, who was eliminated.
@@mark-1234 The Czeck was in the light blue kit on the far side of the spanish rider. The Norweigen in the red kit was not eliminated, the camera just happened to focus on her when the announcement was made.
