Saw them this past Sunday in Stuart at Terra Fermata. FUCKING WOW!!!! 🤘🏼. I was the short grey haired guy with glasses playing and singing every note!! So much fun! Amazing show Schism!! I will def see that shit again!
technically yes, but plays with no energy. I cant stand drummers like this. They ruin a show for me everytime. Ive seen Tool, and DC isnt over zealous, but he def moves and plays those drums like he means it. I know its an entirely massive extent different scale wise, but Ive also been in small Jazz clubs where the drummer puts in more energy quietly so it is 1000% possible to not look like a stiff board playing drums.
I actually found the attention to detail refreshing compared to most of the covers I’ve heard on the web and in person. There’s a certain personal interpretation that goes into every recreation of something, and although it wasn’t verbatim at times, or maybe not played as ferociously as Danny, I certainly wouldn’t say there was a lack of attention to detail on an ASTONISHING level. Give the dude some credit. I hope you’re having a better day today than you did when you wrote that comment 😂. Much love
Thank you for taking my spot at the Buddha stage last night. Couldn't get out of work again for this show. I will eventually get a full Schism show in my page. Something about Maynard's voice that resonates like fingernails on a chalkboard with me. Because the music is so spot on I have considered Schism not the best Tool tribute band in the world but a better version of the original.
@@crustylust3490 for me personally, I would rather see Schism than Tool. Just because Maynard's voice doesn't resonate well with my brain. No disrespect to the band. Schism wouldn't exist without the talent and appeal of the original band. It took the tribute to appreciate the greatness of them. There are lot of people that have my minority opinion. Thankfully I have experienced that awakening.
@@Murdacat not everyone has the same taste. I respect the band and their talent. Just something in the voice that doesn't click with my brain. Super talented but a lot of other bands I would rather listen to.
At least the drummer isn't texting on his phone while playing the drum beat like he did during the Charlotte show back in the mid 2010's..... fckng weak af bro. I'll never forget walking out of that show when I saw him playing on his phone during Eulogy. Was so excited about this band after seeing them in Portland, and for him to disrespect the music that much.... smfh
Technically the drummer tried. Hey made sure to hit the important parts in the beginning then just started flailing after he got off the beat. I’m not trying to be mean, but Danny’s technical precision is otherworldly. It’s not only about hitting the notes when he does. It’s the urgency, the attack, and the attitude. Dude IS a good drummer though, I couldn’t do that. I’ve never really seen the point in tribute bands. But if you’re going to do it try and incorporate some originality guys. Switch up the arrangements, use different FX, don’t play note for note. Check out Elephant Revivals cover of schism as an example. And for F sakes please stop the cringeworthy dollar store Maynard movements. It only works when he does it. Musicians spend a lot of time learning their craft. If you’re not going to do your own thing what’s the point? My own opinion anyways.
Now I see why Maynard stands in the back...
lmao top comment!

Sick these guys are coming to Colorado
We are going to the Mesa theater in Grand Junction tonight to see them. I'm stoked, probably the closest I'm ever going to get to seeing Tool.
That drummer nailed it, awesome😎

The inattention to detail in Danny’s parts is astonishing.

Did I read this right? Are you saying this tribute band is better than TOOL themselves?

You are doing yourself a disservice dude, lmao. You’ve probably missed out on so many excellent Tool performances for that reason, which is a shame.

@Steven Bernard I wish I could respect your opinion, but man, that's outrageous.
If you're going to record please don't try to sing
