Just because Stefan is my favorite character in the TVDU and he sacrificed everything for everyone constantly and he doesn’t get enough recognition for everything he did. He was and forever will be the better Brother and Man. Let’s face it, without Stefan or Bonnie everyone would be dead.

Honestly i don't think Damon or Elena deserved Stefan at the end of the day. I will never understand how Damon could do that to his little brother. Stefan sacrificed his freedom to save Damon at the end of season 2 and what Damon does to thank him is going after Elena. Such a great brother. And while I do ship Stelena and its one of my favorite ships, I will say once she became a vampire and was sired to Damon, she became a completely different person. She said Stefan treated her like a broken toy, when Stefan was only trying to get the cure for her, because Elena herself said that she didn't want to be a vampire and she hated the person she was becoming. Damon and Elena were selfish and they deserved each other after what they did and everything they put Stefan through. And Stefan had the nerve to say " Damon is the better man". That's the funniest thing any charcter on the show has ever said.

I'll never forgive Damon for being the worst brother ever he wasn't there for Stefan when he needed him the most . When Stefan woke up as a vampire it wasn't his choice to be one, he accidentally killed his own father and completed transition with his blood and find out about his bloodlust. It wasn't less of guilt for him that Damon added one more by declaring tht his brother turned him into a vampire I mean he was the one who wanted to be a vampire he asked Katherine to turned him way much earlier and when Stefan needed his brother by his side he turned his back on him it was Lexi who found him and made him what he was else he would always been a ripper coz his brother didn't give a damn about the pain and guilt his brother is going through and when he came back it was for Katherine and when he realised Katherine toyed him, he tries to stole Elena. He tried to become good person for Elena but never for Stefan . I loved their relationship in the end that's may be coz writer's wanted to showcase Damon as better person so they could sacrifice Stefan but I can't deny that Damon was a pathetic brother to Stefan . Stefan was a great guy... He was just like us.. The problem with damon is he din care about people.. But that does not mean he did not love his brother.. He loved everyone.. He could not express his feelings.. I know that becz his character was so much into hatred that he feared to show his compassion.. In his words.. 'with goodness comes expectations'... He went to hell for others' sake.. He agreed to be with the siren to protect his loved ones... If only one person could find love and goodness in damon he was his buddy ric... Stefan is ofcourse the hero... Damon liked to be the villain... He just wanted it all.. He was selfish.. He feared to lose his loved ones.. I have sympathy for him

Damon was sometimes a jerk but he was a good brother a good friend and everything. But he couldn't express it which made everybody hate him. I hate him but he was also a good guy.
One thing I disliked towards the end of TVD was how everyone hated Stefan because he killed Enzo (Especially the Damon fan base.) Although I liked Enzo towards the end of the show he ended up forgiving Stefan. Plus Stefan had his humanity off. At the same time though people completely forgot about how Damon murdered Tyler under Sybils control plus like 300 more people.
Coming from a dudes POV Stefan was the better Character out of the two, but I feel like Damon was fans favorite because of looks. And I never gave the supernatural universe a huge chance until like two years ago, but I enjoyed the TVD universe. I also enjoy how much work you put into your edits. Keep up the good work!

Man, this video is just stunning. When TVD was airing, Stefan was continuously shafted in favour of Damon. But he proved to be not just the "better man" but the better character. It just took the finale for the fandom to wake up to his atrocious treatment. Out of the tragic finale, we can at least say, that the majority of the fandom untied and said he was "the better man." He was supposed to have his happily ever after.
Not even with the finale. There are still people like “hah hah Stefan died” when he literally died for Damon
The layers of his character are so much higher than anyone on the whole show, from his relationship with Caroline, Klaus, Lexi and so many others, everyone showing part of his character
“How together are they”...among one of the saddest lines and most heart breaking moments in the show. He left with Klaus to protect Damon. And came back to that. Damn.

Something that always bothered me was:
Stefan was the best at being cruel or evil because of his ability for empathy.
He could outmatch every villain in TVD or Originals.
And he was still the kindest and warmest Person in the whole Show, while suppressing all the Things.
He denied Blood, to not be the ripper.
He clung to his humanity to not be cruel and evil.
All because he knew pain and suffering, and was willing to suffer himself before putting others through same suffering.
And still, so many people don't appreciate all the work and all the pain this Charakter goes through.
He was not only the better man. He was the better person and one of the best at being good despite his potential to be the absolute best at being the worst.

Even though Stefan was far from a one-note character, and his dark side has resurfaced a few times, he always wanted to do the right thing. To compensate for his Ripper desires, he tried to be better, selfless, friendly and merciful whenever he could. Certainly Elena is at the heart of The Vampire Diaries, but what launches the plot is the arrival of Salvatore in Mystic Falls and especially that of Stefan. It is he who decides to return to his hometown and, driven by curiosity, goes to talk to Elena. After all, the series is called “The Diaries of a Vampire”, which simply refers to Stefan Salvatore. He has a (very) big heart, He accepts the relationship between Damon and Elena, He spends his time repairing the mistakes of others and sacrificing himself to save them, he dies in order to save those he loves but also Mystic Falls, it shows once again how altruistic he is and just for this last gesture, it makes him the real hero of The Vampire Diaries. He has “hero hair” 🤩

I hate Damon cuz the way he treated Stefan and he knew what would happen if he drank human blood, and Stefan forgave him all the time, protected Damon and Damon betrays. Stefan is more broken than Damon he deserved better
I agree. Whenever I tell people that I hate Damon they usually all say “oh you only hate him because he ended up with Elena and Stefan didn’t” and honestly that’s not the reason. My main issues with Damon are the way he treated Stefan and the fact that he never took actual responsibility for HIS actions he always said “ I’m selfish and I make selfish decisions but that’s who I am blah blah blah”. Damon was a 25 year old child who threw tantrums when things didn’t go the way he wanted and blamed other people for being the way he was.

I feel like all Stefan really wanted was to have a normal life. When he came back to mistic falls, he fell in love with Elena and wanted to have a human experience with her. Stefan wanted the brother bond with Damon, and I feel like every time he sacrificed something for Damon, he was hoping to find the older brother that was there before they turned. But at the same time I think Stefan fell like he didn’t deserve to have anything, with his ripper part inside of him. He hated that part of him, and wanted to change. People constantly told him that it wasn’t his fault, but he knew deep down that it was him. And that he needed to take accountability for his actions. Hence why he had the idea to leave town in season 8 and make things right with people that he once encountered and ruined. I think he tried to save so many people and sacrificed so much for so many, not only because it was who he was, but because he was trying to make up for all of the wrong that he had done in the past. Stefan really was a good person he just made really bad decisions that he couldn’t exactly control. But I also feel like Damon was so misunderstood. He wanted to embrace being a vampire. Damon is an intimidating and stubborn person. He was proud to be a vampire. I think Damon felt as though since he couldn’t be the best good brother, he had to be the best bad brother. He was forced into vampirism, and didn’t know what to do with it. He was lost, and couldn’t find himself. But when he met Elena, it brought out the good in him. Elena brought out the good in him. Elena helped Damon find himself. You can’t control who you love, and it wasn’t Damon’s intention to fall in love with Elena. Damon had been holding on to hope with Katherine for so long, he just wanted a real pure love. And he found that within Elena. It may not seem like it, but Damon was also a good person, he just made incredibly bad decisions. He was lost. At the end of the day, I feel like they both were lost in the most complicated and difficult ways, and didn’t know how to find themselves.

This is the first video that made me cry. I fail to comprehend how people like Damon more than stefan. Stefan went to mystic falls and damon went after him just to ruin his life and he sure did. Damon never became this good person everyone says he became, elena didn't change him. It was damon who changed elena bc she irrationally forgave all the crappy actions he kept doing, she went against logic and morals just to be with the person who did so much harm to all the people around her. 'Stefan isn't a saint either' they say but he always had the best intentions and that makes him the best character. Stefan was a ripper so damon abandoned him like the good big brother he is. When lexi finally helped him to come out of it, damon used that weekness to provoke him and make him kill again. He always forgave everyone, even katherine who abused him. Stefan always loved damon too much, it's what killed him in the end. He let him have his happiness which he didn't deserve at all, after all he put stefan through.

I really wanted to write it and say it . Stefan is epic. In my childhood I made a list about qualities what I want in my man then when I watched tvd And watched Stefan I just fall in love with him immediately like crazy because he is the one I made a list of .He is good, kind, selfless, compassion, Handsome, great sense of humour, loving, soft spoken and all of this things he is bcz he wanted to be like this not because of anyone. That’s what I think everyone should be. you connect with him mentally and then sexually oviesly. For me that’s really very important to find happiness mentally.

I would just like to apologize now for how long this is.
First off people only ship delena because of Damons looks. Like yea he's good looking but that's not a reason to ship a relationship because of someones looks especially if you know they toxic af. Secondly damon or Elena doesn't deserve stefan because they put him through so much shit throughout their relationship. Like in the end of season 2 stefan SACRAFICED EVERYTHING because he had to save Damons ass after he got bitten by Tyler. But how does damon repay him? By going after Elena. Thats just a great brother right there. going after you little brothers love of his life while he's out there losing everything because he had to go and save your ass. nice. And because even after they were together whenever damon or Elena needed something or was in trouble it was stefan who always went and saved them. But over the summer when he needed saving Elena and damon couldn't care less about him because they were too busy making out and having sex. And yes I am a Stelena shipper because I am a klaroline shipper but after Elena became a vampire I really started to hate her. like in 2x20 she literally sobbed in Stefans arms saying she never wanted to be a vampire but in the end of season 3 she became on on accident. And then she has the audacity to say when stefan looks at her he looks at her as if she's a broken toy. Like um sis weren't you crying in his arms not even a whole season ago saying you never wanted to be one. And if you remember stefan said he would want to be with her forever he just wanted eternal life and vampirism to be her choice. and I honestly think the sire bond had something to do with the change in attitude because damon wanted her to embrace being a vampire knowing if she hurt or killed someone she would crumble. But now lets talk about how damon literally killed Lexi to get the council off his back. But then people want to hate on stefan for killing Enzo. if anything I call that poetic justice because damon killed Stefans best friend first. but another thing that pisses me off is how the damon fanbase tries and dismiss everything he has done but tries to nitpick everything stefan has done. most of the things stefan has done is when he is a ripper and the blood literally controls him whereas damon kills people for fun. But lets not forget how stefan got marked with the sword because once again he saved damon even after all the shit he put him through. And how damon was going to offer Carolines kids up to cade but stefan had to jump in and once again lose his freedom because ONCE AGAIN he had to save damon from making a bad mistake. And when I say I hate damon around people they are usually like "stop being mad that stefan didn't end up with Elena in the end." Like Chile I could really care less about who ended up with who in the end. Its the fact that Elena and damon put stefan through so much shit and yet people still want to disrespect stefan and call damon the better brother. And how funny of Julie Plec to make Paul/Stefan say Damons the better man. Funniest thing on the entire show. But another funny thing is how when Caroline's mom died Elena found a way to make that about her then MAKE OUT WITH DAMON. LIKE WTF?? your friends mom died and you found a way to make that about you and they you go and make out with damon in front of everybody? Like Caroline said she truly has a gift. And another thing is how stefan GAVE HIS LIFE so that way his crappy big brother damon could live the life stefan wanted with Elena. Stefan always loved damon too much and that's what cost him his life in the end. But damon always wants to guilt trip stefan for what happened to Katherine and the fact that he killed their father. But if im being really honest here, if damon died in the end instead of stefan I would've liked him a little bit. Because then he would've done something for everybody else instead of doing it for himself. But while we are talking about the last episode lets talk about how Elena LITERALLY DISSED THE FACT THAT STEFAN JUST DIED TO SAVE EVERYBODY'S ASS AND WENT STRAIGHT TO ASKING ABOUT DAMON. UM SIS WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL????? Your ex just died any yet all you can think about is damon? girl bye. And because people always focus on damon too much. Like they call stefan boring because he isn't a psychotic rapist with anger issues when he doesn't get what he wants. Anyway im all out of anger ranting. maybe ill be back tmr but that's my reasons on why I hate damon and delena.

This took me ages to read. I agree with you gurl. I can’t believe that IT WAS STEFAN dying at the end. Julie could have made the ending better but his dying scene I was crying so hard I became a mess. Stefan definitely deserved SOOOOOOOOO much better and both bonnie and Stefan should have the ending they deserved.

Stefan was too good for his friends and damon even though i liked damon more but stefan didn’t deserve his ending, stefan and elena was magical and damon the big brother shouldve been the one who sacrifice himself for his younger brother. Miss the show so much it will stay with me for my last days.

He was the greatest and most interesting character in the entire show. It all started with stefan let's not forget season 1
Speaking as someone who has watched and enjoyed this show backwards and forwards repeatedly for years, Stefan got with the one who was right for him. I was both happy for and proud of him in the end. As for Elena she'd been VERY depressed since before the show started when she LOST BOTH OF HER PARENTS, and with Stefan, a vampire that hates what he is, he wasn't really bringing her up. Damon in his own words is willing to LIVE eventhough hes dead. Yeah Damon wants to be human again but he makes the best of his sercumstances instead of bruding. Its all about what they bring to the table.

What an epic piece of art this video is. It does things to my heart that makes me both sad and elated. I love how you paralleled his love for Damon, versus Damon’s love for him (you’ve pointed out things that have always bothered me). I always find that so important. It’s one of the reasons I can’t support Defan and haven’t since around s2. I’m not going to go into it too much since it’s an old song, but wow… what a tribute.

I hate that they killed him off. Stefan has always been the one to give up everything for everyone. I think the better story line would have been for Damon to finally step up and take the bullet and finally allow his brother to have the happiness he deserved.

Im the biggest stefan fan, kinda reminds me of the person i once was until one day i was shredded to pieces and realised all the happiness i had was taken away, stefan was the best damon never cared about how he would feel he was completely selfish elena let it all happen, whilst stefan was out protecting elena and cleaning all damons mess
I was glad stefan and caroline got together they really were meant to be, and some parts in the show you can really tell elena wish she never left stefan, her and damon were messy,
