    Leds are polarity sensitive so before you reinstall your cluster all the way check & see if they're all lit up. if not just pull out the bulb & reinstall it the opposite way. also don't forget to slam a beer once you're done

    To follow up on my question from earlier, the circuit board film has a greenish tint to it. That results in the green panel tint from standard factory/incandescent bulbs. Just wanted to post this in case anyone else has that same question. Thanks again for the teardown/how-to!

    I removed many fewer screws than suggested. I did not remove what was referred to as "that plastic thing." A total of 7 screws for the piece above the display and 4 screws for the display. WARNING: My 1997 F-150 headlight switch panel should not be pulled out all at once. First remove the cover. Then there is a black slide to remove the box that contains the connections. I replaced all 5 194 bulbs (2 were burned out) and 19 of the smaller T5 bulbs, all of which appeared good. My original bulbs lasted 27 years. If the replacements last that long they will outlive me.

    LEDs mode that I have done have the potential to be lit in only one direction so be careful of this.. it is not just a plug and play. So if some of the bulbs do not lite up. Dont worry to much. Just reverse them. Take them out and turn them 180 degrees and the lite should now work

    I have a 2000 Ford F-150. I am replacing the instrument cluster lights with blue T-5 LED bulbs. The T-5 LED bulbs are polarity. When I install a LED bulb in the high beam indicator, I only get the LED to light up when I pull back on the left side turn-signal stalk or lever. When I push the stalk forward toward the dash so that the high beams are on all of the time and also for the high beam indicator light bulb to stay on all the time, I get no LED light at all. When I reverse the LED bulb polarity, I get no high beam indicator light at all in either direction. Does your T-5 LED bulb for your high beam indicator light up in both directions, forward for full time high beam or reverse (towards you) just to flash oncoming cars to warn them of a cop up ahead or whatever? I'm thinking I may have to use an LED bulb that is non-polarity, works in both directions like the factory original bulbs. But I do not see for sell on Amazon or EBay to where you can buy only one LED T-5 bulb that is non-polarity. Let me know on your truck if your high beam indicator light works in both directions (forward and aft or reverse). Thank You!!

    I got a 97 f150 ex cab short bed.my fog lights wont work when i pull em. Ive checked the bulbs they seem to b ok anyone know y or have had same. Problems let me know

    • @DGreywolf
      @DGreywolf 6 лет назад

      *Tina Warne *. LED’s are polarity set. I had the same problem with my 99 f150 and unfortunately, had to disassemble and turn the bulbs 180 to get them to work. This might be your fix as well.

    Loved this idea, great look, and cheaper than buying new gauges.. awsome walk thru by the way followed step by step an had no issues at all, unfortunately for some odd reason when I installed mine seems like only a few of the new lights worked both w/ the big an small replacement LED bulbs.. I've got seedometer but not tackometer, have the fuel an volts meter but not the temp or oil pressure, and of course the left turn signal works but not the right, plus a few other small indicators... Any idea why this is happening???? Pls help!! Lol

    • @mrlude490
      @mrlude490 Год назад

      LED bulbs are polarity sensitive so if they didn’t turn on you have to remove them from the bulb holder and rotate 180 degrees then reinsert into bulb holder. That should do it.

      DJ RaptorXS I'm not too sure since I used leds and the green tint didn't show. I've used and tested both white and blue leds.

    Seems like you removed more then you need to. But thanks for the video. Also, when I took mine out I used Meguire's ultimate compound to polish the scratches. Two problems worth noting. The warning lights deteriorated quite a bit. Also LEDs aren't dimmable, so be warned.

      Xxthe_best_mwxX Keep in mind it does take some time to install. I don't exactly remember the exact placement of the different lights but that sounds right. I took mine apart to see how many of each led I needed.

    • @jaeger3254

      Hey I think I have the wrong LED lights for the speedometer mine are much smaller and don't have the blue casing around it and the extra light pointing up. I put them on right now and they look green(I limited the sunlight around the windows and made it darker) should I wait till darker to see them ? But I ordered these- 10x T5 3-SMD Instrument Panel Cluster Dash Ultra Blue LED Bulb Light Lamp 74 70 37 17 from amazon

    • @BlackMickey

      moped jankins Ok. I would make sure every light is working before you put everything back. Same thing happened with one of my turn signals and had to take apart the dash again.

      OK I found out that the bulb in question isn't working just right. It likes to be touchy with the contacts. So I swapped it out with a different led. Now it works but on the top of the gauge isn't fully lit around the 50-60.
