Hahaha 60+ club here, and the baggies (esp on bottoms) don't really work for me either. What on earth is that gonna do for my look, visually? I think there is a huge trap to a fashion that aligns to one's age in a way that ...oh it just might look like I'm kooky and never quit the 90's. Hope that makes sense. I might embrace a "baggy on top" look because it could enhance my shape, which is skinny, but unfortunately, age-natural shapeless. Picking, choosing, having fun with fashion @ our age yeah!

I think the leather shorts are a "safer" option than the miniskirt and give the same vibe. At 67, I can see myself wearing the shorts with tights but not the miniskirt. To each their own! 😊

Great honesty! Like you, I work hard to have a slim bod, but some trends are just for teens. (like SHEER PANTS. No.) I am a former fashion exec (retired 60+)..... I indulged in a pair of baggy barrel jeans. My friends have fun teasing me about them and we call them my "fashion victim" pants. I am a jeans fanatic and I think maybe my superpower is I can make almost any pair of jeans work, well...in one outfit at least haha.😁I love hair accessories, and I challenge you to rethink the bow trend. You have such beautiful flowing hair, you could do a quarter-up with a classic black velvet bow, it would be fierce AF. .... Or an ivory velvet bow that's super subtle. I challenge you! 🎀
I personally like any trends that show ladies looking good, appreciate folks taking pride in the way they look. My pet peeve is ladies dressing in pajamas and going shopping looking like they just got out of bed. Grew up with a mother that insisted that we changed our clothes to "going out in public" clothes. Clean, not wrinkled, hair combed out or up in ponytail, bun or take an iron to if your felt like it. She made it fun and always pointed out the best traits a person has. Sunday was dress day for church, shoes and purse matching. Ha Ha, I remember wanting to wear my white dress shoes in November and my mom said, "honey it's fall you'll get your pretty shoes ruined" (she would not scold or make me feel like I was wrong but, would point out a reasonable reason why it wouldn't be a good idea. she did make me feel like I was making a decision not to wear them myself). She was sneaky like a fox that way. I understand so much more now 50 years later. Our mothers really do influence us.
I do like a 13” wide handbag, but do not like to carry around anything larger than that everyday. The crossbody bags or small 11” or less bags are too small, unless I’m traveling.
I find most cross body bags somewhat inconvenient because it doesn't usually fit everything that I need. I have totes and top handle bags in different sizes from different maisons. I just switch out when I feel like it. If you're having back pain, you just need to be more conscious about what you're packing in your tote, and you also have to do something to strengthen your back. Back pain is usually a sign that you're going through something physical. I found that out somewhat the hard way and am now faced with having to take some measures to correct it. I go easy on the heels too because heels weren't made for our physical well-being in mind.

I love that you have a more mature approach to fashion, and that you let us know most important thing is that we feel good about ourselves when we wear the clothes we choose to wear. I also like that you advocate that if something doesn’t feel good when you’re wearing it it’s OK not to like it just because it’s a trend or on the racks -so thank you. I will pray for you I was in a very toxic marriage for many years I had to fight for my life to get out of it. The wreckage I had to clean up, was insurmountable with the grace of God, help of my peers, and getting myself involved in a community that was like minded, saved my life. I can’t wear some of your choices because I’m 5’2 and they would overwhelm me but you look awesome in all of them, especially that form fitting outfit with the fur jacket, absolutely gorgeous on you! Heels with socks? They’re never right! Just like those oversize padded jackets that always remind me of Addams Family monster who looks good in them only because he’s eight feet tall. Heather I am a new viewer to your channel and I'm really loving your style video's! Love your classic edgy style. I'm 67 and 5.3" so I'm a mature petite women who loves classic pieces, but I do like two of the trends for 2024. I have lost 40 lbs this past 6 months and have had to invest in some new clothes that actually fit me. I'm absolutely loving the 90's styled relaxed, mid rise, straight leg and baggy leg jeans. But, as you indicated, I'm not a fan of baggy on baggy at all, it's way to frumpy on me. However, pared with a body skimming top and a blazer they sure update my look and make me feel fabulous! The other trend that I'm liking is PART of the preppy look. I like layering a crisp white button down with sweaters for a fall/winter look or a cute linen jacket in the spring. I've always loved the layered look, but I will be passing on the mini skirts, wild stockings and sock craze! Thanks for all the work you do to bring us great content. I love the mob wife trend. My town was once a big mob town (and might still be?), so I am very familiar with the styles. Last winter my girlfriends and I started wearing out Mothers' furs (real) on our girls night out and now it is a trend! Yes, I would love to see a video. On another note, I did catch your divorce video and I have not had time to comment. I admire your strength and honesty. You will get through this and when you do you will forget the pain. I have a really large bag, almost a tote, but it's in a beautiful pale pink. I think the unexpected color trumps the frumpy vibe. I love the bag, and I love that she's going to be back en vogue!
I won’t be wearing oversized pants no matter at what age I am because I know I have a figure with such a hip so why making it look larger😅 But I always go with a tote bag on rather casual occasions 🌸 Never wear shorts out, anyway😅 You look classy naturally 👍
Like you I save my big bag for travel and use my crossbody purse daily. Never liked baggy anything I like my clothes to fit my shape. I like wearing pencil skirts and will not be wearing shear anything either.

I’m an older mom so totes are helpful for carrying my kids stuff. No pantyhose w shorts. I feel like this just would make me look like I was trying to hard. I did get some sheer tops that I plan on wearing this spring with a tank top under them, I will not b wearing socks w heels 😂, I got some bows that I have been wearing in my hair and some that I plan on pinning to the back of my jeans. I also got some silk scarves to make bows on my totes. I think they are cute. I like dressing edgy in some of the styles u r in to but I’m also into dressy girly at times so I’m trying it out
Dolce is adorable! You made me laugh so hard with your dislike of shirts with collars because I feel the same way! However, I recently bought a white collared blouse from Chico’s that’s more fitted & looks nice with jeans & a jacket. Not my favorite style but my hubby likes it!

finally, after trying them on hundreds of times, I am here to say that Express jeans look terrible on me and I just cannot wear them! There I said it. Slim jeans are great, I wear Buckle straight leg and flare leg jeans, size 23... which is the same as a zero I do believe with a long inseam and I also have some straight up no stretch Levi's that I can wear in a 25 but I the Express jeans just look downright weird. I'd love to see you try Buckle Jeans, I think you'd love them! Mob wife... got it! 80's and 90's lol!

No baggy for me. I like fitted or tailored except for shift dresses bc I have a rectangle body shape. And I don’t like clothes that feel floppy. I do like preppy, but in a classy way, hard no to bows anywhere, yes to fur or feathers and even real fur! So elegant and warm! Hard no to socks with sandals just no!

Most of these trends I won't be buying into . Collared shirts are so classic it's hard to think of them as a trend. - a white collared shirt has forever been one of my favourite go tos - A friend who never wears them told me a few years back that when she thinks of a white shirt she thinks of me . I really hadn't noticed to that point that she never wears them - also not her style . I feel I look better with a collar or even a scarf near my face when wearing a crew or boat neck top . It's good we don't all like the same things !
My style and yours are quite different (though I'm also a bit younger so that may be part of it lol). But no to baggy. Also no to mob wife, for me anyway. Not my thing. I do some preppy (but yeah, I was preppy in high school soooooo ;) ) And a big yes to bows but will pass on feathers unless I'm dressing up as a 20s flapper girl for Halloween ;) LMAO I cant do the big big bags but I have gotten a couple that are 'bigger to me' bags, if that makes sense (probably considered a 'medium bag'!) I do like metallics but in small doses. Leather I like but more for coats and jackets and bags, and less for skirts or pants, but thats just personal preference (isnt it all, though XX) and... no socks with heels. or socks with sandals or ballet flats. or socks with anything other than... you know, sneakers ... or other shoes that socks SHOULD be worn with :P

I am with you on the oversize trend not looking good. I am a 5 foot 3 65 year old. The oversize makes me look like an old bag lady
They’re difficult to stow and they are too big for my smaller car. Back in the minivan soccer days yes but not anymore!

I love the mob wife trend. My town was once a big mob town (and might still be?), so I am very familiar with the styles. Last winter my girlfriends and I started wearing out Mothers' furs (real) on our girls night out and now it is a trend! Yes, I would love to see a video.

Like you I save my big bag for travel and use my crossbody purse daily. Never liked baggy anything I like my clothes to fit my shape. I like wearing pencil skirts and will not be wearing shear anything either.

I’m an older mom so totes are helpful for carrying my kids stuff. No pantyhose w shorts. I feel like this just would make me look like I was trying to hard. I did get some sheer tops that I plan on wearing this spring with a tank top under them, I will not b wearing socks w heels 😂, I got some bows that I have been wearing in my hair and some that I plan on pinning to the back of my jeans. I also got some silk scarves to make bows on my totes. I think they are cute. I like dressing edgy in some of the styles u r in to but I’m also into dressy girly at times so I’m trying it out
Dolce is adorable! You made me laugh so hard with your dislike of shirts with collars because I feel the same way! However, I recently bought a white collared blouse from Chico’s that’s more fitted & looks nice with jeans & a jacket. Not my favorite style but my hubby likes it!

I think the shorts with pantyhose is very attractive but only see girls in teens and 20's wearing that trend or fishnets with shorts or under ripped skinny jeans.
I like the preppy look only. Bows are okay if its a scarf tied into a bow around the neck

finally, after trying them on hundreds of times, I am here to say that Express jeans look terrible on me and I just cannot wear them! There I said it. Slim jeans are great, I wear Buckle straight leg and flare leg jeans, size 23... which is the same as a zero I do believe with a long inseam and I also have some straight up no stretch Levi's that I can wear in a 25 but I the Express jeans just look downright weird. I'd love to see you try Buckle Jeans, I think you'd love them! Mob wife... got it! 80's and 90's lol!

No baggy for me. I like fitted or tailored except for shift dresses bc I have a rectangle body shape. And I don’t like clothes that feel floppy. I do like preppy, but in a classy way, hard no to bows anywhere, yes to fur or feathers and even real fur! So elegant and warm! Hard no to socks with sandals just no!

Most of these trends I won't be buying into . Collared shirts are so classic it's hard to think of them as a trend. - a white collared shirt has forever been one of my favourite go tos - A friend who never wears them told me a few years back that when she thinks of a white shirt she thinks of me . I really hadn't noticed to that point that she never wears them - also not her style . I feel I look better with a collar or even a scarf near my face when wearing a crew or boat neck top . It's good we don't all like the same things !

My style and yours are quite different (though I'm also a bit younger so that may be part of it lol). But no to baggy. Also no to mob wife, for me anyway. Not my thing. I do some preppy (but yeah, I was preppy in high school soooooo ;) ) And a big yes to bows but will pass on feathers unless I'm dressing up as a 20s flapper girl for Halloween ;) LMAO I cant do the big big bags but I have gotten a couple that are 'bigger to me' bags, if that makes sense (probably considered a 'medium bag'!) I do like metallics but in small doses. Leather I like but more for coats and jackets and bags, and less for skirts or pants, but thats just personal preference (isnt it all, though XX) and... no socks with heels. or socks with sandals or ballet flats. or socks with anything other than... you know, sneakers ... or other shoes that socks SHOULD be worn with :P
