I caught a live show from the Mavericks in summer of 96 at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Junior Brown was the opening act and he went out there & tore it up. Mavericks kept up the energy and it was a great night. Speaking as a former 101st Airborne soldier, we appreciate what they did that night. Our Commanding General did a special presestation, making the Mavericks, Junior Brown and his band honorary members of the 101st Airborne Division. They earned it! Air Assault!

My dad bought the CD, "Music For All Occasions" in the mid 90's. After my folks divorced in 96, me and my dad would always cruise around in his red dodge ram and listen to this disc. It's been in my possession ever since, and I STILL jam to it in 2016. Long live the Mav's and my favorite song of theirs....Timeless shit right here
The best band EVER. Every song is magic and Raul Malo is genius on the mic. The horns are awesome! Been a fan for over 15 years now and never tire of listening to the Mavericks. :)

You don't need to be a musician to appreciate good music but I guess it helps. In this case anyone who appreciates music will appreciate this band. They are fantastic. I was sent a clip on here about 12 months ago by a friend but until then I knew very little about them but when I heard this clip I just thought "WOW"

saw this band live for the first time last night and i was blooooown away. such great performers and musicians. that was the most energy i have ever seen on a stage. and everyone from the trumpet/sax players to the accordion player were slaying their respective instruments.
I've heard a few of these guys songs on Sirius/XM Outlaw Country 060 so I figured I check them up. Wow, what a combo. I love bands with a phat horn section.
