I love a new gadget or tool for fly fishing or fly tying as I am sure you all do. I can't afford to go out and buy a new rod or fishing reel every year. I can stretch to small items under £50..00 that can make my fishing life a little more organized or comfortable. It's sometimes just the smallest things like tying a knot more easily or warm feet when you are fishing in the river, even bank and boat. It can extend your days fishing when you might well have packed up and gone home.

If you’re fishing the Pere Marquette river for steelhead in Michigan check in with the guys at ‘Baldwin Bait and Tackle’ …. They can give you tips on what’s catching where and even hook you up with river guides and guided float trips …. Great bunch of guys 👍👍

Thanks for the info! I think I might have visited the shop on my last trip. One of the things I love about Baldwin there are more tackle shops than clothes shops!

@@lindsayiflyfish … I’ve had some success on a fly imitating what is known in Michigan as a ‘Wiggler’ (no really it is 😂 ) it’s a large-ish Hexigenia mayfly nymph kinda a grey dun in color with prominent eyes and a gilled abdomen …. They fish the live versions up there (available at tackle shops) but I’m sure there’s plenty of fly patterns out there for them …. The eyes and the gills are key… anyhoo have a great time in Michigan .. wrap up warm it’s bound to be chilly … can’t wait to see the videos 👍👍

Size 16 olive scuds work great on the east side. I have never been to the west side. We have been doing great using just white marabou jigs this winter so far. I need to get over to the west side. Good luck fishing Lindsay, like he said, dress warm 👍🏻

Like the socks Lindsay, I get terrible cold feet standing in water especially at the start of the season, I couldn’t wear both at the moment cos I have a broken ankle. My wife bought me a heated gilet a few years ago and I love it keeps you toasty all day long tight lines.

Looking forwards to seeing any content from your time at this years BFFI show. I really enjoyed this vlog. Five excellent bits of kit. The simple solutions are often the best. With the measure perfect for rod or landing net handle. The hook storage idea is one of the kick yourself for not thinking of it sooner items. I will get some ordered soon. Shame Ronnie did not have that rod holder last season. It might have saved his rod during the practice session.
