Recently tried this for the first time and, no sooner than I inverted, the nausea rushed in. I really enjoyed the class up to that point. My fear is that inversion won’t ever be for me.
It can take awhile for your body to get used to inverting. We recommend starting with 10-20 seconds, coming up very slow, and then resting your head as shown in the video. Unfortunately, there are some people that can’t tolerate inverting. There are still plenty of fun and beneficial exercises that can be done on the trapeze without going upside down. Take it slow and give your body time to adapt. We’ll be thinking of you 🙏💕
Great video!!! Question your arms are longer than your seat. My Yoga trapeze are at the same level even when I adjusted the knots. Mine make it difficult to grab the handles and invert.. I use extenders to connect mine. do I have to connect the arms and the seat in the same loop? I wanted to place the arms in the loop below the seat loop so that the arms can be longer.. Can I do this? is it safe to do this?
Hi Lynnis! It sounds like you are using a different system than the YogaBody Yoga Trapeze that we are using. For this move, the handles are only used as an assist for getting into and coming out of the inversion. If you lower your handles you may have difficulty wrapping your feet around the sling, but it's worth a try. As always, make sure your sling and handles are safely secured to the rope before attempting the move. Good luck!
I found yoga trapeze to be the best tool for lower back decompression, much more effective than inversion tables. But I normally don't even do this basic inversion. I just drop down both my legs and my upper body and relax in that position for a few minutes.
It takes some time to find the sweet spot with the fabric. Try making sure when you lean back that the fabric is near your belt line. Any higher and it definitely digs in. It took us some time practicing before we finally found the perfect spot. You got this!
Great step by step instructions. I really like your approach and teaching skills with aerials.
