How sad to think that an elderly person who had a young busy life, gets old and reliant on a care facility to then be mistreated! At a time when you are most vulnerable 😭 This made me so so sad. Thank you for showing us Alec.
Same as i can't stand it when good decent people are mistreated fingers crossed i don't end up in such a place i say fingers crossed as luckily none of my family have ended up in such places always stayed pretty much independent up to their passing but if i was to end up being the first I'm my family to end up in one of those places I'd do all possible to escape do a mass break out with the other residents in the homes mini bus

A beautiful neglected building, I worked on the roof when the building was still in use and you could smell the pish coming through the slates, it was privately run
It amazes me that all the equipment gets left behind. There must be loads of people, care homes and hospitals that could make good use of that equipment. Wheelchairs, walkers etc cost a fortune and they are sitting there doing nothing. What a waste. Also reading some of these comments, can I say my Aunty was in an amazing care home, they aren’t all abusers or abused😔
As to all the unused walkers, wheelchairs etc. The government would rather pay for brand new items that cost a fortune instead of reusing the ones that molder away in abandoned places. Insanity.

It's a bad situation that the elderly are treated so poorly in these home Care facilities..In Canada , Quebec and Toronto the military had to step in and took charge for a few months .Their report of these places were atrocious .. disgusting .it's a sad place to go to to die..thank you Alex for the vid ,you had said ,that "bad things happened in this place "..

I know the feeling. No one wants to a burden to family but if only they could love the elderly and ant them and have a home big enough it would be perfect/ Being patient. If the elderly would be thankful. There a time children stayed home as they would own the farm house and that was enough so dad mom or grandparent could live there too. Times changed. I took care of my family but worked and had a family. Not easy and worked around everyone. But it took a strain on me and no I am the one old and my family had us around with grandchildren then moved and just pray they will ant me when that day comes. They ay so, but e never knkow? I am nervous but try not to be. I am a retired health care nurse, and as activities director as well. and know many homes are much nicer now, but good ones are expensive. They do a nice job with programs to help the elderly too. But some do well and some are not so happy if their family cannot visit well enough. Most people like being with family if they are able. But yet some need many activities going on and 24/7 care and family cannot handle that . Each case is so different. They need a home large enough for one thing and set up for them to be safe enough. But homes many years ago er horrific and insane for anyone, Sometimes they placed the elderly, orphans and insane in the same home, separated to a degree. It was not good at all. The worker were over-stressed/ That a before my days in working, but have heard of it,.
Another great video Alec u always find some amazing buildings and its a shame to see them going yo waste... This building wld be ideal for soldiers who have no place to live and suffer from PTSD instead of them sleeping on the streets and the government not giving a fk about them!! Great video nice looking building would make a nice house or a little hotel with changing the interior of the place would be nice to get some open fire places sorted in the building as well I'd live there if it was turned into a house sort out the garden build some garages etc would be great as a house would The office desks remind me of a friends desk and he wonders why it takes him ages to find things that he's looking for Anyway loved the video as always keep making and sharing your exploring videos stay safe and well Godbless

What a beautiful building and with the right cars and attention could again make a lovely nursing home. The right staff with the right knowledge of HOW to care, I'm sure this would be a happy place but, alas, this place was obviously closed pretty quickly and residents moved under emergency situation as all their paperwork is left unattended. This paperwork should be in the hands of the local authorities because of data protection. Do you guys know if this is being sold? If so by whom?

Hey Alec. I love the lassie with the killer nails. So I found a Bible verse that I was thinking of as I was watching you explore. It’s from John 21:18 “Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” How incredibly sad that anyone would abuse a helpless, weak elderly person. What a waste of a fairly decent building and why the hell is the private information not shredded but left behind. I will never understand this.
The building outside looks ok but it's so cold and depressing inside. They could have made a nice home for people but nobody cares about the disabled and elderly.
I remember reading about this care home in the paper after it closed down so sad that these things happen in this day and age especially to old vulnerable people the paper didn't go into much detail but I remember 1 person who spoke to the paper who lived nearby said they often heard screaming and shouting coming from the place it makes you wonder what really did happen behind closed doors and how much was covered up and kept out off the public eye/domain. Because I don't remember hearing about what happened after the owners appeared in court charged with neglect and I know there was other charges too but the news didn't go into great detail thankfully

Scotland elderly homes I am not familiar with though and how they took care of people? But do believe it could have been horrid and things were not good for anyone as they did not even probably have proper training?

Just when Alec said horrible things went on, I remembered the story of a particular care home. Again.. might not be this one. X

The little critters Probably found a home underneath the Shingles attic area. So to get rid of the infestation, the residents for their safety had to be removed. Makes sense since their is no water or other damages. Thank you Alec and BEE 🐝 Safe!
Just stumbled across this! Great explore Alec. I was in there about a month before you and it’s gutting to see how much more wrecked it is! The piano area especially. It didn’t have a missing key on it. I actually have a video of me playing it haha! Creepy as sounding! Oh, and there was a wayyyy easier way in the other side mate!

Hi Alec, I worked in one , very depressing. Tried to love them all I could. This place lot nicer,beautiful staircase, at least they had better scenery outside. So I only stayed for 8 months, had enough.

Been, nothing in freezer. Basement looks like a cavern but nothing of interest just basic utilities. Most interesting part is Managers office.

So many of the sinks seem to be missing the taps. It looks like they just walked away and left everything. How very odd. It could still be a very nice private home but I don’t see that likely to happen. More likely to sit and rot and then get more rotten. 😔

I don’t remember which videos exactly but I have heard disembodied voices on a couple of Alec’s explorations. One was in a really ancient house, I think I left a comment about it. So I wouldn’t be surprised if you did see a ghost. Alec’s friends do like a laugh though so who knows.

Bless you Alex for documenting this... what's the status on the care homes there in Scotland, it has been bad here in USA, so many have died and no one seems to bat an eye... i know they are/were being killed systematically; like those places aren't already bad enough... and they make so much money too... it is definately crimes against humanity and i hope those that lost their lives there after this fakedemic, i hope they get justice. :(

Hi Alec, I worked in one , very depressing. Tried to love them all I could. This place lot nicer,beautiful staircase, at least they had better scenery outside. So I only stayed for 8 months, had enough.
