The Place Where Madrid goes to Relax | El Retiro Park

- This huge park is a respite in this city of millions. It's an oasis within the city and it's called El Retiro. Here you can find people walking their dogs, exploring, cycling and just resting from a hard day. It features a man made tiny lake, where you can rent a rowboat and float or row through the lake. A great to place to visit as a tourist and the place to get for rest if you live in Madrid.

Me gusta el parque Retiro, tengo buenos recuerdos. Solía visitar el parque con mi novia española. Alquilamos un barco y una anciana jugando a las cartas nos habló del futuro…fue una experiencia muy romántica.

A very beautiful park for sure in Madrid. Loved the fountains and statues throughout the park. A bikers paradise as well as walkers. A beautiful place for greenery and relaxation. Nice video.
It's a great place to jog and ride bikes. This park is a treasure in the center of the city.

My fondest memories of the park was seeing the crystal palace but especially seeing park workers sitting under a tree enjoying their lunch and sharing a bottle of wine.
Oh the life in Spain, workers can enjoy a bottle of wine at lunch. I will have to visit that Crystal Palace, don't remember if I have seen it before. 🍷😁😎

Madrid's most important green lung!!! I had the privilege to visit El Retiro in April 2017 and I found it an awesome park!!!

@@TravelAddictGuy Madrid is an intense, insane and hectic city, you know what I mean and to visit El Retiro can help you to relax, there are even some small row boats to sail on the lake.

Parque Retiro is huge, safe and you can rent bikes to ride the entire park to see more, if you don't want to walk. The lake, the glass house, etc. In future, go to Schoënbrunn palace in Vienna, has a zoo on the grounds, entire day and large park, gardens, etc. Awesome.
I love to see people riding bikes here, it's a great way to get around and stay healthy. That place in Vienna sounds amazing. Thanks Rory.

In El Retiro there is one of the few statues in the world dedicated to Lucifer (the fallen angel). It is placed in a spot that is exactly 666 meters above the sea level. Weird in a country that used to be so Catholic.
