The quality of Shadow’s intros always amaze me. The animations, the voice, the music, it’s all perfect! You can tell he’s an amazing RUclipsr within the first ten seconds. Hooks you in right away, so you have no choice but to watch the entire video.
At 7:37 that noise, sounds like the Frenzied Knight. He's in a modpack i'm playing called Fear Nightfall. He's got BOKU health. It's better to run from him if you can. Also for the sanity, at least in the modpack I'm playing, staying in the light, especially near camp fires, yes your sanity does dip when killing animals, but you can't be hungry either or wet like you found out or it dips. Gardening helps bring your sanity up, having carpet (because of the comfort aspect I guess?) to walk on helps bring it up. There's a full list in the pack I'm playing of things to do to help with sanity, I can find it and share if you'd like, if you think it will help. :)

It might be fun to add the monsters from Amnesia since you have the sanity meter already! Beware the Rain has some creepy mobs. There's the Box of Horrors mod that's pretty great. Depth Crawler is also nice.
Lifedrain makes an awesome combo with horror minecraft, and with natural regeneration turned off, this video was quite the ride. And, as if it couldn't get better, the intro had me sitting on the edge of my seat, thinking back to the nightmare island series, which has been by far my favorite.
Was having an awful day so I went on RUclips and saw that shadow uploaded, my day instantly got better! also, love this combination of mods, I've been on a roll watching From the fog game plays, so happy to see shadow playing it in single player after the Christmas multiplayer version with Robert, Sean and Kim!!!

For a future mob idea, what if you have something that mimics a safe creature (like a villager, chicken, cows, etc,) and when you get too close it attacks

You can use the powdered snow as a defense against mobs by wearing leather boots and shifting through it (crouch). It can be used as ladders (jump), mobs get stuck in it and die (surround your house with it) or mob farm (skeletons are immune), or make a wall out of it that you can slip through and the mobs wont be able to jump out of it (like make a room full of powdered snow and you can slip through and climb like a ladder) . Note* you need the ground level to be of powdered snow for them to die. You collect it by bucket So to go down, you crouch and to go up, you let go of crouch and jump. Jump while crouching is normal but mobs can't crouch so they won't know how to jump in it :) but you do need leather boots
Love it! FYI I learned recently that iron spawns a LOT at high altitudes. Like high mountains etc. So maybe early on instead of going into caves you could try mtn tops 😂 the snow is something to content with but... Yeah.

You might already know this because it's so basic, but if you find yourself in a really sucky staircasing situation again: Go two blocks deep and then staircase to the side from that point. Every time you need to take a look or need more light, mine out two [by one] blocks. Most vanilla mobs can't reach you, you get at least a peek, and a little daylight. It takes forever if you're doing it through stone but it's saved my butt a couple of times. Aside from that, any mod that makes going without light even worse sounds like a deliciously evil addition. I remember rambling one fine 3 am with a friend about the idea of a shadow people mob that appears in areas with light level 0 and can't stay anywhere at or above light level... 5 maybe? Maybe lower. But for as easy as you can avoid them, you can't fight them but they can sure hurt you. There's probably already a mod out there like that since I'm not the most clever one out there but it sounds just horrible to pair with that sanity mechanic.
