Thank you so much. I know Blender but 3D animation is too much for single dev. Then I saw Cascadeur it literaly life changing. But doesn't know how to combine them and you show up. ♥
hmm, I am thinking to work around it, i export my autorig pro to mixamo, do your step , apply animation to the rig, then again retartget the motion to my auto rig pro, it kind of ok
This was absolutely great, thank you. One very important question: How would you go adding a prop/weapon to the model? So far I haven't been succesful, as it seems if I add weapon bone to the control rig and export that to Cascadeur, I can no longer apply the animation from the cascauder scene import to the control rig? Any tips would be very much appreciated!
Currently I'm doing research to build a workflow to work between Blender/Cascadeur/Unity. Currently only Rigify is in my workflow. I like the native aspect of Rigify but I'm considering Mixamo because of its ease of use. I'm curious, which rig you use primarily in your workflow currently?
What is the best software, to get the animation from a video clip into cascadeur later? The mocap part of cascadeur dont seem to be mature, but the auto physics and auto posing is great, to refine the animation and extend it
There are a lot of options online and most of them has free options. The most popular once I found are rokoko video mocap, plask.ai, in3D, deepmotion. Wonderdynamics is really powerful but you can't get the animation result for free as far as I know.
Can we track the camera movement from the reference video on this software ? It will be amazing if it is possible to do. Since the mocap can be created using AI mocap, similarly if camera movement can be replicated like AE2Blender Addon (for AE to Blender) it will be game changer. Btw kudos for your effort 🙏🙏
This is actually my intended workflow for character work and you add on seems pretty interesting. I’m trying it right now and it seems to be very finicky with the Export to Cascadeur function. It’s either importing the armature, or the mesh, but not the combination of both the mesh and the rig. Any ideas what might cause that? Also, it seemed to have issue with any additional bones being placed in the rig. For instance eye controls.
Check the Blender export settings of the addon. Probably it is set to export only selected objects. The additional bones might be non deform bones. There is also a setting for exporting not only deform bones. Hope that helps)
Hi, after i import animation from mixamo and export the animation backout, the file is quite heavy (double the original size of mixamo anim). Both without any skin / mesh. Is there any way i can reduce the size of casadeur exported anim ?
Not with the addon, but manually it is possible. Export your animation as an fbx and in Cascadeur select the armature and in the import options there is an import animation option.
i got a question with your addon , can you use casca for free? since it only allows 300 frames in the software but if you get it too blender does it go against that or.
If you use the addon the export limitations doesn't apply, so you can export longer animation with more than 120 joints. That's a bug in Cascadeur's python api, so this might be changed in the future.
If you mean live link that would be great. I don't think it's a priority for them and I also don't think it can be solved with their python api without slowing down the UI.
Hey there! I had a tutorial request that a lot of people might be interested in, Can you made a humpback whale rig using cascadeur? It would be really beneficial as there arent any tutorials on whale rigging and animation, I can provide you the whale model if needed
Hey loving your content and im trying to make dis part of my workflow but i dunno why but when i try to export to cascadeur i get this error: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'comands.eternals'
does this still work? i tried it on the blender 3.6 and cascadeur crashes when you export from blender to cascadeur. Im using auto rig pro and trying to export the control rigs. maybe thats why. i will come back after trying to export it with deform bones. i see u have a tutorial on it for rigify, i will be back

Gantastic tutorial, thank you a lot for sharing, works as a charm

Finally!! Thank you for this video!!

Love you, this video help me a lot
great workflow but i prefer using the rokoko retargeting tool,as for the cascadeur bridge thanks

How do that with auto rig pro and cascadeur.
Mine is not working, please help

@@AronNemeth95 a cool thanks for answering I have recently used it more as it help me time animations more love it.
would be nice if cascadeur starts to work with linking.. like cascadeur to ue5 or cascadeur to blender.

Same here.

yup i even tried it with mixamo addon. cascadeur crashes after pressing the export button on the addon. is there any way around this?
I also used Blender 3.6.1 with Cascadeur 2023.1.1. You should experience crash when exporting even with control rig.
wow very interesting
