They've "fixed" the ALR-45 since this video and I'm working on a new RWR video but basically the way the ALR-45 works now is any aircraft threat it can identify will be assigned MID or HI (MID for I-band, HI for J-band), and those threats will throw lock and launch warnings. But everything that isn't on its "list" (basically everything with a pulse-doppler radar) will show up as a question mark, and those give the solid lock tone instead of the proper alternating one as well as not supporting missile launch detection. So tl;dr if you see a missile launch from HI you know it's a MiG-23, if you see a missile launch from MID you know its probably an older plane with sparrows, and if you see a question mark lock you be careful because you won't get missile launch warning.

They really should download DCS World and buy the F-16 or F-18 modules just to see how information is presented on those RWRs. Russian aircraft in the game, though, are getting too much information. Even the MiG-29's RWR only gives direction, general type, and strength. That's built into certain planes on a per-plane basis. Only the newer top tier jets have it. The volume is set by "voice warning system" in the sound options.
10:05 new objective "try to survive"
woah woah woah wait, hold on.
S-125 and Hawk.
Sim could see some really cool realism additions in the future
Now all they have to do is reduce the insane sensitivity, because getting a launch warning from an aircraft that is in front of and facing away from me is kind of pointless. Alarm fatigue is a real thing, Gaijoob!

Your vid’s are amazing bro

OH MY GOD I LAUGHED WAY TOO HARD AT TRYING TO NOTCH THE POLICE RADAR IM FKN CRYING AT WORK😂😂😂😂😂
Could you do mention the F-14 too and explain how it works? Thanks
F-14A or B?
@@jaek_898 maybe both? but i think F-14B is basically a digital so same as F-16, but the A version is semi-digital
Thank you man! The vid was honestly really helpful.
Ah yes my favorite radar signature, the Riddler!
do a heli one please
but they still cant tell the difference between you being lock and fired on, or the guy near you being locked n fired on.
Irl they can’t so they will never be able
@@lemangeur2poulet248 are you stupid? they can most definitely tell the difference between themselves being locked an fired on vs their wingman etc. the allied plane next to you locking and firing on an enemy plane, would not cause your own rwr to spike etc. youre flat out wrong guy. i work in aviation.
Does anyone have a list of all the J-band aircraft in the game?
Would be useful for deciphering who could be aproaching you when using RWR's that only tell you the band
MiG-21 (Sapphire-21, excludes stuff like MiG21F13 and J7D), MiG-23 (all except BN), Kurnass 2000, Tornado IDS/GR1. Those are all the ones I can think of.
However if youre going off the "J" light it's MiG-21 and MiG-23 only, I'm working on a new rwr video
@@jaek_898 Ah thankyou!
So wait, tornado and kurnass dont trigger a J light? Thats odd...
@@impguardwarhamer Yeah, the short answer is that a lot of the lights are done by hand on a per-radar basis and they didn't include certain radars (either by design, or by forgetting)
@@jaek_898 haha, sounds about right lol
Thank you Jeak
And how do I turn that rwr_threat thing off?
Sounds like you have broken texts, you might need to update your localization
thank you
oh but like
whats the sauce for the meme at the start 😂
i completely love the RWR launch alert sound
Anyone has a clear list of all the names of different radars (or the vehicle they are installed on) ?
Like M2K is the mirage 2000, or HRR is the harrier, or CRT is frontal (VT1 launchers)…
Will post on my discord soon, I dont think it will fit in a community post
I wont ever get far enough in wt to need this video but you still made it super easy to understand and entertaining. Also thankful for the small editing touches you made in the vid thanks a lot for making this
Good Job Jaek! Now go take a break
@GeneralLee2000 AI R/O is Air Intercept Range Only. So something like Su17/22 for example.
S125 is SA-3
S75 and SA75 is SA-2
Cant wait to go deaf listening to warnings and launches
Fantastic video as always!!! Love to see it!
Very informative video. This gonna help me in sim.
