But the girl kept saying no, and didn't rent a scooter. So I ended up getting an international driver's license online. After getting that, I went back to the rental place, and a new girl was at the front desk, and she said I didn't need an international one, and just rented me a scooter. From my experience these kinds of things are not uncommon in Italy. As far as the gas station, it is very limited. I checked in the Google map. There was only one available in Positano. Thank you for the video! So beautiful! My wife and I are headed to Positano in March. This is our first time in Italy and we are thinking of renting a Vespa and exploring for a day. Is it hard to navigate the roads? We don’t lane split where I am from, in Italy the motorcycles seem to go wherever they fit, not to mention they go pretty fast with very little space. I've been riding motorcycles all my life and have my motorcycle license, but I am a little nervous about riding in Italy. Thanks again!
That sounds like a great journey ahead of you! First 2 dasy or so, it was a bit intense, but once you learn how people drive, and what is the potentials, it will get easier. This is just an example but. some people drive super slow (car, e-scooter, motor scooter, etc....) and other cars just passes you with respect (?! that's my opinion). And as long as you show what you are intended to do (like "I drive slow on my own speed" or "I am in a hurry and need to pass" or whatever....) then I think they just let you do what you intended to do. So, I would say give 2 days, drive less crowded area. And you will be good. You will actually have MORE FUN THAN RENTING A CAR for SURE!!!! 💜 Let me know how your experience went when you are done! I would love to hear! Enjoy your trip!

A scooter will easy do Amalfi coast road with a full tank, it’s not that far. Plenty of fuel stations in Sorrento.
