I discovered these guys after getting out of prison In 2013, I went away at 23 got out at 30. My cousin was like my brother we just were all about getting high and being kids got wrapped up in a bs federal indictment. I just remember shortly after I got out my cousin gave me this album and I would just sit in the dark while the "to Willie" album would play over and over and I would just relive all the great memories I had before incarceration. I often take a day to still listen to there amazing music to help relieve all the good memories
this version of willie nelson's masterpiece brought me to tears, umph
The best version I have ever heard of this song. I loved Willie's but this one I hate to admit even toped him !!! Tears in my eyes but love it Thank you... Well done my friend...
What a wonderful age we live in where pure chance can bring you to music as beautiful as this ..... and FREE !
That said I'm now going to spend money on a Phosphorescent album and will definitely go see him live at the first opportunity so it's win win.
Z1000Jeff Did you get the opportunity to see him yet? He had me with Song for Zulu!
Did you?
@@1991icecool I don't even remember writing this comment but yes, I did see him ... it was a few years ago now but it was a great gig as I recall and I'd go and see him again if/when he comes back.
one of the most beautiful people i ever met and worked with ...i feel like a proud mother when i watch him now ...
Neat!
awesome. Great job. One of the best covers I've heard in my entire life. You owned it!
love his simplicity
Can I sleep in your arms tonight, lady
It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
Don't know why but the one I love left me
Left me lonely and cold and so weak
And I need someone's arms to hold me
Till I'm strong enough to get back on my feet
Can I sleep in your arms tonight, lady
It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
Can I sleep in your arms tonight lady
It's so cold lying here all alone
And I have no hold to hold on you
And I assure you I'll do you no wrong
this is literally the most beautiful music my soul has ever heard
Damn you:) I was going to cover that until I heard this. I couldnt do it justice after hearing something as beautiful and unique as that. WOW
This guy is AMAZING! How I have never heard of him before, I do not know. I will be seeking out his other works! ACES, MAN!!!
Absolutely love this song
For all of those singing Willie's praises, he DID rock this song. However, I have the original 45 of this...it was written by Hank Cochran for his wife, Jeannie Seely. She originally recorded this song (1973) "Can I Sleep (In Your Arms)" and it was "tonight, Mister." Willie's version, as terrific as it is, was released in 1975. Give Jeannie's cut a listen. I am taking nothing away from Willie except originality credit. LOL Willie is amazing, I would never bash a legend. I remember this as one of my favorites. MCA records, I can still envision it spinning on the huge console turntable as I sat on the edge with the huge lid open. LOL
Thank you sir !!
That live version needs to go on Spotify! :(
He breaks my heart...
Wow, you are wonderful! Bless you
fucking awesome voice!!!! found it by mistake and so glad i did,, reminds me of the man closest to my heart

Dios cuanto talento en un solo ser humano !!! ya lo amo !!
Calmness! Like it
Reminds me of Bob Dylan’s “Lay Lady Lay”......so tender and earthy........grew up in 60’s and have NEVER compared anyone to Bob
Ok, i cried...
It’s nostalgic one
" vantastic! "
Is there a download of this version somewhere I can get? Love this version a lot more than the one on their album
Me too
Nice is it.
Hahaha awesome
@pierangela69 You worked with this guy!? That's amazing.
I think it's proven: anyone who has a beard is a genius
A beard can make anybody look like a genius. But when it's time to talk the beards power visually is overpowered by the sound of the voice and a moron hiding behind a beard is exposed very easily. Mathew Houck is genius in his ability to restrain himself to just sing and play what's needed and not anything more or less.
sehr gute
shit this is GOOD!
Hank Cockran song
I think this song is just titled "I'm commin, you're runnin".
Yeah, my heart stood blank
Yes, his name was Hank
And when he walked me home
Da cock ran-ran-ran, da cock ran-ran
I thought it was written by Shaun Cassidy, Phil Spector, and Burt Reynolds.
This song is my libido incarnate.
Hank Cochran! doof!
that doesn't make any sense
