- In This Onboard, I went from P8/8 ( 7 non starters ) TO FIRST in my First ever race in a KZ/KZ2 Gearbox/Shifter Kart!
We had Mechanical failures all throughout the weekend, and the only race we could finish was this one, finishing first no less! The finals had a lot of drivers pull out due to mechanical Failures and Not having the strength to finish the finals due to hot weather earlier in the day.

man just wanted to say i loved this video, i use to kart all the time in rotax as a kid and stopped because of an injury, but thankfully im starting again this year in KZ's and i love watching this onboards and learning from them, keep it up bro 💪
Thank you for the comment, means a lot! ❤️ - Kz’s are so much fun, especially coming from a junior max like I have done! I hope you will find yourself loving it as much as I have!
Can I ask who you race with in KZ? I’m looking to run one more year in Snr Rtx and will then get hold of a KZ, just wondered if I could test one first if a team could offer that
kz is all about being supersmooth behind the wheel minimal steering input, I know that easy to say then do it ;) Brutal to drive
Awesome race! more exciting to watch than F1
Thank you very much! :) Karting is incredible in terms of on track action, and when you have 20/30 Karts doing the same thing, it can be incredibly Interesting to watch!
Overtake on 1.53 was really dirty
Hello! :) the 192 missed a shift coming out of that corner and I did not mean to bump him, the overtake was just me trying to find space to be completely honest, and we both had a laugh afterwards :)
congrats man, great driving!
oh awesome ur at whilton mill. love that track. currently im driving junior rotax, and one day i wanna drive these monsters of a kart. (hoping to test drive a formula ford 1600 next year)
Bro, there were only 7 drivers
DC didn’t choose the size of the grid and he could only beat those in front of him. I was at Whilton for the race and he absolutely smashed it. He took the lead and simply drove away from P2. He was in a different league.
@@lukedixon-ny2ps Yes, and in many places he didn't drive fairly, and what I meant by only 7 drivers was that maybe it's just a hobby racing series and not a professional race.
@@Leo099 Thank you for your concern :) - It was the NKC O Plate, with multiple British Karting championship drivers and european drivers attending, multiple of which had to retire due to engine seizing and Being too tired to complete the finals or mechanical issues - The original grid size was 15 drivers in the final heat, with a lot of drivers not making it due to the previously mentioned reasons :) This was my first race in a Gearbox / Shifter kart and I think it went quite well!
@@DCKarting_Official Yes, it was a nice race for the first time, but if there are only 15 drivers starting, you might want to look for another racing series where the congruence is better... In Germany (where I drive) more than 50 people start in a race (with the shifter karts) at x30 start over 70 people. I don't know how big your starting fields are, but 15 people are just not many. It should only be criticism and not an insult.
cause kz is not common in uk
U r such a cool content creator I am 11 and I want to become a racer when I grow up. Do you have tips?
Hello! Nice to hear! :)
1: just start karting! You can go rental karting and see if you enjoy driving for a relatively small sum of money and get a lot of enjoyment!
2: Practice practice practice! Whether that be practicing in real life on the track, or driving on a racing simulator back home, there are always ways to get better!
3: Do LOTS of reasearch - Whether that be ringing up your local Racing governing body, or watching youtube videos ( Like you have done now ), there are always ways to learn and improve! Power Republic and Ryan Norberg are fantastic!
And the most important tip: Never, EVER GIVE UP!! - No matter what happens in your journey, Always push your very hardest and be your best you can!
( Oh, yeah, and don't forget to have fun! 😁)
I cannot express how much this helps . I am looking to improve my sim . I am looking to do activities at my local cart track . Again thank you so much @@DCKarting_Official
@@julienbrightwell No worries! Good luck on your Racing ventures and let me know when you are famous!
Did you get a penalty for the overtake?
Hi! :D If you are talking about the overtake with the 192, he missed a shift coming out of the corner - Both me and him laughed about it afterwards and no penalties were given to either driver :)
thinking about getting a kr chassi whats your thoughts on it
Very Grippy both in the wet and in the dry, Brakes are far better than Other chassis ( Atleast in KZ ) and Are very fast in europe aswell!
Cons: VERY difficult to get parts for them, not much support if something breaks, and you need to change the chassis super often, almost every half year, as they get worn out much quicker than other chassis :)
Where did u get these colour livery ?
Red Graphix in the uk :)
Was this the O Plate?
Yes! This was at Whilton Mill for the 2023 NKC O-Plate Meeting!
@@DCKarting_Official I really wanted to come but still a novice that’s just got into club level… next time! 👍 What’s sprockets are you running, would be good to know for the first test day
@@adamcollingburn430 Depends on which kart class you are driving, if you'd let me know I can happily let you know what sprockets to run! ( X30, Rotax Junior, Senior, KZ, Etc.
What country is this
Hello! ( UK - England specifically :D )
overtake
Agreed.
What championship is this.
National Karting Championship ( NKC ) - They held a one off O plate meeting with a bunch of British karting championship drivers :)
