@@Le_Petomane nah not really I started cooking full meals at 11, in the south it's very important for girls to learn to cook and clean lol I'm 17 yrs old now thank the Lord for the south
@@Le_Petomane how does it seem like I have an "agenda" ? Lol I'm just saying in the south we're taught how to cook and clean early especially if we're girls iwjs lol sheesh
I made this today! I made my own katsu sauce using a mixture of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oyster sauce, and a bit of sugar. The pork was crunchy, tender, and juicy, and the sauce went well with it.
I've never really cooked, but I was very interested to try and make this dish on my own. I suprised my girlfriend with this for dinner tonight and it went well! This was easy to follow and fun. Thank you!
Of course, the beauty of the finished dish is very important. Taste is also important, but people will eat it because of its appearance, so I think it's wonderful that the food you make is so beautiful.🤗🤗
One of my favorite foods as a kid. My Mom used to make this for us 40 years ago. Even better if pork is pounded thin or even tenderized with the mallet
I will be making this for my son and for supper tonight! I Can’t wait To Try making it homemade ❤️ This was one of my favourite dishes To eat, at my favourite sushi restaurant in Coquitlam, BC. Now I have to make my own since they’re closed!
One of my first jobs when I was 16 was at an Asian restaurant called Orient Express (RIP) in Sacramento. I learned how to make this in addition to all the grilled stuff like teriyaki, learned how to present food, etc. My brother loved this at the time and it's still a hit today. The pork part is easy to make, but don't forget the sauce. Google some sauce recipes and you will not be dissapointed. One of the easiest and fastest things you can make.
Thank you so much for sharing!! For the first timers out there, make sure you’re using a deep fryer / make sure the tonkatsu is not touching the pan floor so the breadcrumbs don’t burn with the meat being prematurely cooked. I recommend you tenderize the meat too with either meat hammer / rolling pin / or even a water bottle so it’s thinner (crispier). :)
Thank you so much for this awesome recipe! I love katsu so much but hate when I go to eat it somewhere and the skin falls right off. I made this at home and it was perfect! The skin was nice and crunchy and it never fell off. I'm so excited I can now make something I love to eat at home.
We cooked, we have sophisticated taste buds. I always criticize everybody and curse their foods, but tonkatsu is one of my favorite. I will cook this for dinner
Easy recipe, I made it and it was very tasty, unfortunately I did not have the right sauce so I just used a little bit of bbq sauce, this is similar to schnitzel, so it was easy for me to make and very tasty. I will be on the look out for the correct sauce.
Dear Noriko san and Yuko san I am japanese from Nagoya about your age. We have what they call Misokatsu.. Instead of sweet Tonkatsu sauce, try sweet miso sauce. It's very Nagoya. I live in Idaho and have just tried Moss Burger style katsu burger. My son and his friends absolutely love them.
You have a nice voice. Edit: I made these tonight with pork chops that were a little thicker (that's what I had). They turned out so so good. Best crunchies ever!
I'm 12, and this recipe was so quick and easy. I didn't have Panko bread crumbs, so I pulsed up some bread and baked it at 325 for 10 minutes.
You’re twelve and can cook better than I could at that age 😂
Same
Bullshit

try orange juice concentrate instead of ketchup. I like it much better, or any other frozen juice concentrate

I had the pleasure of living in Japan for 3 years. Tonkatsu was my absolute favorite local cuisine.
Ah how did you get to live there may I ask? I have a Japanese friend who wants me to live there with her but idk how to :/

Fist time making and trying this today. I can’t tell you how surprised I was that it tasted this good. Like I think I’m in love 🥺
I tried this using the air fryer and it came out fantastic.

How can I avoid the pork sinking to the bottom of the pan?

Yummy recipe during quarantine
The best thing I had in Japan was easily Katsu pork cutlet with a fried egg in a soba broth, why do train stations have the best eats?!
Omg dinner saver. Ive been thinking what to cook for tonights dinner and i found your recipe thank you so much 😭❤️
You are so welcome!
Try lard instead of plant-based oil. You'll be amazed how much better it comes out. And healthier too.

i know its not healthy but deep fried pork is really good
That looks great. I'm starting to make bentos for lunch and this will be one of my items for sure.

My favorite Japanese dish
Hi, can I use chicken breast instead of pork?? Thanks in advance 😊😊
you can, but it it is recommended you use pork or a chicken thigh instead of the breast as it retains moisture and has a better flavor!
My dad cook me that this morning and it so delicious 😋😋😋
i missed japanese food,everything in Japan...really good!
I always have a lot of trouble with the breadcrumb layer falling off. It just doesn't stick to the meat, any idea why?
Could be you are moving the meat around too much during cooking and making the breadcrumb fall off
ありがとうございます!
thank you for sharing
very good tutorial, thank you.
I love it to cook tonkatsu
I'm going to cook this later!! Let's see how it goes 🤔👀
How did it turn out? 😊😋
I'm making this Katsu this Saturday with some Japanese coco curry
I just re-made this and made a video about it LOL
Oh sweet lovely ladies, why am I only just now finally finding this channel?
Honestly man
I love breaded deep fried pork chops
Mm.... Misokatsu sounds really good! Would love to try that in Nagoya!
JapaneseCooking101 agree
Easy yet looks oishi
Wtf dudes I'm from germany and I must say this is every interesting. It looks so jummy!
It's like a different version of schnitzel lol
Basically only difference is the panko (breadcrumbs) used.

May I know if we can pan fry
Just tried it and maaan that was mad good 👌
My batter didn’t stick on to the pork cutlet. Any reasons why? I used the pan-fried method instead of deep-fried.
I have a question can i replace cabbage with white rice or cauliflower?
How is that a question? Pair it with whatever you want.
I'm going to try this tonight since my wife is always suggesting I do something different instead of the usual roast.
Delicious
Super Cool.
Love it😀
At the end, what did you apply on the Meat? Tonkatsu Sauce? What Brand
とんかつソースはアルコール入ってますか❓❓
oh my God this looks good
The knife is so sharp
that looks good
Yummy
You have a nice voice.
Edit: I made these tonight with pork chops that were a little thicker (that's what I had). They turned out so so good. Best crunchies ever!
I taught my youngest son to make tonkatsu since he was 9 years old
what kind of flour is better to use here,is it it any kind of flou?
Merci
I did it today and I am so happy that I achieved it thank you for sharing your knowledge 😘
Thanks for the video! One question though, can you also use a deep fryer?
anything with oil in it can do it ... just keep an eye on it and you should be fine
i made this today!!
Shallow frying also works right
