Thank you for the mini documentary about Tulketh Hall. Just moved to Ashton a few years ago and history is right in the neighbourhood! Pre-pandemic I even used to walk past the site everyday to get the bus in front of Rhodes!
I literally live across the road from here. Just found out today, by chance, about the history and I am mindblown! I've lived in Preston my whole life and never knew this. I am living right next to history!
I’m a direct descendant of Johannes Travers. His son Laurentius Travers was born at Mt Travers & Nateby around 1189. I really enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing!
I am also a descendant of the Travers line. This is so awesome to learn about although I have always known about Tulketh, I did not know this much detail.
Your videos are the best on RUclips for learning about the history of Preston/Lancashire. Its great how passionate about it you are. Also im quite sure your my old French teacher i remember the name of your channel from back then i dont know how but i hope you are well!
@theyellowfactory I have been intrigued with local history all of my life and have read Charles Hardwicks' history of preston. I've been metal detecting for 40 years and am a member of the Wyre Archaeology society. This is something we would love to get involved with, but I suspect there is little left to investigate

Brilliant video, thanks for sharing
Thank you very much.
I was born in Rossall Street as was my mother, literally round the corner from what was Tulketh Hall.
You were living near a place that had been inhabited since the the 11th century if not indeed earlier by the romans!

What about William Buck Travis the Commander of the Texans at the Alamo allegedly descendent of the Travers's of Tulketh Castle?
Hi Graham, I'm not aware of that link. Thanks for heads up.
Yes, this is true. This is my family ancestral line and Travis did indeed come from the Travers line from Tulketh Hall.
