Great reaction, Mace. I’m a 50 year old dude and I had tears streaming down my face listening to this cover from Angelina for the first time. This is the song I hummed as a teenager walking home from school, and I’ve listened to many versions of it over the years. Angelina beat all of them, including MJ’s original and Mariah Carey’s famous cover. How could an 8 year old girl convey that raw emotions that only parents or people in love can experience? I’ve been an atheist my whole life, Angelina makes me believe in divine intervention now - there’s no other explanation to her incredible talent.

Your reaction, without knowing the background of this performance, just goes to show how well Angelina can communicate emotions with her songs like no other artist I've ever seen.
As mentioned by a few others, this recording is from the annual Swedish TV show _Svenska Hjältar_ (Swedish Heroes), where people who shown physical or civil courage and done something out of the ordinary to help a fellow human hare honored in a price ceremony. Angelinas performance was part of the introduction of _The Youth Hero Of The Year,_ a girl who was bullied throughout her childhood, but finally managed to stand up for herself in the last couple of years in school and started to give lectures about bullying all over the country; how it feels to be exposed to it, how to detect it and how to best aid the victim. She even gave this presentation at her own school with her bullies sitting in the auditorium. The pictures behind Angelina are from the girls family album.
p.s. The Swedish newspapers at the time wrote that there wasn't a single dry eye among those present at Angelian's performance.

A perfect performance. How could that not open the hearts and pockets of donors at a charity event. Like you, she got me, right in the heart. Somehow she instilled a courage and commitment to care for someone else.

I think she had catched a cold there. If i am correct the day before she was singing outside barefoot in the wintertime during Nobel peace price consert. @@leod2408 The Swedish article doesn't mention anything about bullying except saying that "Swedish Heroes celebrated Marwa who rebelled against her bullies", and the one line in Norwegian newspaper says "Angelina herself has also experienced being teased". They then continue with an alleged quote saying "- There are many children being bullied, and my advice to them is: Be strong! It is the responsibility of the adults to intervene, says the girl thoughtfully to the magazine."
First of all, who hasn't been teased at least once in their life, but to go from there to imply that Angelina was bullied at school is a bit far fetched. Secondly, I wouldn't put too much trust in what that gossip magazine writes.

Late to the show, I Know, not even a week before AJ sang at the Nobel Price Ceremonies, in Winter !!!, in Oslo/Norway !!!, BAREFOOT. No wonder she caught a severe cold. As the others told, she was adamant to sing here. The audience was informed, that Norways National Treasure (NO JOKE) was ill, so you can imagine how enthusiastic the audience was, when she sang against parental advice. German greetings

Angelinas performances as 8 YO, is quite a great list. "Bang bang" and "Summertime", then "What a difference a day makes", "Fly me to the moon" (for the first time) at The Vew in the US. Then there is "At Last", "What a Wonderful World", and of cource "I`ll be there". There may be more, but these are all so good and impressive, I think. Her two auditiones for the talent show was filmed as she still was 7.

Those early performances from Angelina makes me gasp for air. At such a level that it made me wonder if something is wrong with me. Reaction videos have been a big help as I now know this is quite normal!
As I understand it, there is an event in Sweden each year with a title that might be translated "Everyday Heroes". There is voting, and the top heroes are honored at a ceremony. This banquet featured photos of a girl who was bullied for years and later wrote about it and educated teachers and others about the effects and signs of bullying. So the music is absolutely relevant, and Angelina put her soul into it.

This was a charity event for children. She was sick but refused to cancel because of the children. Someone said she got sick performing outside at a previous event not wearing any shoes.

It's very strange, but it's like she's the Benjamin Button of singers. The depness of her voice at 8 years old was crazy and it's like she's either gone higher in her voice by choice or her voice has developed to go lighter by time.

Literally singing at 1-1/2 years old. She has perfect pitch as well and that is another gift she was born with and can't be learned. People can learn to identify notes but she knows and duplicates them perfectly.
She has said she knew she was born to sing. There is video of her as a young toddler in her little bed singing into a mike.
It struck me the other day that singing is essentially Angelina's native language. She started doing it around the same time she started talking…

Of all the arts, music is the most emotional and Angelina has the ability to recognise the emotions in the lyrics and melody of a song and instinctively interpret them in a way which accurately reflects them. Her most remarkable gift, though, is her ability to communicate those emotions to her listener. Can't say she was sick but Angelina does sound like she did not have much rehearsal time with this song. Angelina does sound closer to her age singing I'll be there. A very good performance though not as exceptional as the others.
