    coffee grounds (used) and honey as an exfoliate works great! It makes your skin extremely smooth while stimulating and increasing blood flow by widening the vessels, which helps your skin to tighten. I've found that It really helps with puffiness under my eyes. Also it contains chlorogenic acids which reduce inflammation (according to my dermatologist)

    Also for dry skin, after applying moisturizer, apply petroleum jelly. I know it sounds conservative, but it’s an excellent humectant, so it locks water in, you just need to wait longer to apply make up so it’s pretty absorbed.

    A thought about sponsored content. I know youtubers need sponsorships in order to make a living but I have to admit, as soon as I notice that a video is sponsored, I stop believing what the youtuber is saying because I immediately assume it's biased. Just wondering if there's maybe an approach youtubers could take that would not only allow transparency (which Stephanie *is* good for) but also would prevent me from instantly discrediting their opinion. Like maybe if you did a quick comparison to other similar products and listed cons as well as pros? Could also show reviews I guess? Just a thought. I know it's a tricky subject and that a lot of the time these brands have like conditions set about what you can or cannot mention e.g. anything about their competitors, so I don't expect you to be able to do this for every product. Or what if you did a follow-up video at the end of every couple months just re-reviewing the sponsored product after the sponsorship period ends? I guess that would pose its own problems though...

    • @elizabethiman7442
      @elizabethiman7442 5 лет назад +2

      Dulcet Tones. Uggghhhh obvs a sponsorship is to get the brand noticed. Then you do your own research watching non sponsored videos and because not everyone is going to like the product you just balance positive and negative reviews (1 negative for every 15 positives for example), find a channel with a similar type of skin as yours if you are worried and then you buy. You remind me of people commenting on ads “if it’s not *insert guru name* approved I don’t buy it”. Depends on the product too, skin care is hard but say, makeup brushes are easy to assess on a video (performance wise). Also, as Samantha (can’t spell her lastname) mentioned in her truth video, usually big influencers test the product before accepting.

      @littleblackpistol 5 лет назад +3

      There isn't a way. Sponsored content is an advert and should bve taken as seriously i.e. as skeptically as an advert on the TV.
      You will never get a truly honest opinion from a youtuber who wants to stay on the PR list and get free product or make a living getting paid to shill products. Many times they are told exactly what to say in the sense of which marketing phrases they should work into their blather, how to show the product and where, and so on. I knew someone who was sposnored for a set of cleansing products and they insisted she make the video in a white bathroom as well as include certain language in her review. That's just how it is. Take everything skeptically. Limit your purchases. Most of this stuff is unecessary and is just trying to get you to spend your cash on things you already have in some other form and don't need anyway. And they all lie ie. exaggerate and make silly claims to shift product.
      I treat these videos as entertainment, nothign more. None of these people exist in reality, they exist in a a rareified online world where they make financial deals to push product. Occasionally you cna get some decent instruction but overall, it's not different from watching QVC.

    • @em84c
      @em84c 5 лет назад +6

      Some youtubers I watch say they tell the sponsor that they'll only review the product if they are free to give their honest opinion. If the company believes in their product they shouldn't have much to worry about.

      Try cleansing skin with water only. Remove makeup with good pure oils. Brush your skin gently in the evening with a soft baby brush. Takes away black heads.
      In the morning wash face with water and washing cloth of cotton.
      Spray on pure rose water without containing alcohol. Apply some drops of pure Argan oil on moist skin. Massage face.
      Have your breakfast or do your bathroom routine to give skin 10 minutes to absorb the water oil mix.
      Then take off the oil your skin could not absorb and start your foundation.
      This water and oil mix moistureizes your skin better than any moisturizing cream could do.
      I only buy organic rose water. I keep a big bottle of 500 ml in the fridge and refill my 50 ml spraybottle for bathroom when I need it.
      I love to spray rose water on my skin during hot summer days. Make sure you keep a small vaporizer in your handbag.
      The organic rose water goes to vinegar if you forget the vaporizer in the hot car for a week.

    Hey Stephanie!! Great video!! I would like to add something to this. I know you mentioned it but others may not have caught it. The products you mentioned, have macadamia extract in them. If you have any *nut allergies* this might cause an allergic reaction. Might be best to do A allergy spot test on your skin first before putting it all over your face. 😉
    I'd definitely love to learn more about how to find out if your makeup/beauty products are working together/against each other. The beauty world has come along way over the years and I think it is a great idea to educate others on how to best utilize these products. I , for one, am learning so much more then I ever knew back when I first started wearing makeup. Thank you for the in depth content you give on your channel! Look forward to more. ❤🍌

    Yes! A video about water vs. silicone based products is much needed. Especially for those with oily skin

    I was also using physical exfoliants but then I discovered Paulas Choice and OMG. I´ve learned sooooo MUCH about skincare, about ingrediants and how bad such physical exfoliants can be for the skin and also how bad fragrance and alcohol is for the skin. They not just have amazing products, they also have kind of libary on their homepage where you can learn so much about skincare and your skintype and and and. Hope someday the industry prevents using bad ingrediants which kill your cells and make your skin aging faster. (I´m really oily and also dry and I use the skin balancing products, Niaciamide booster and 2% BHA exfoliant) #reallynotsponsored :D

    I just love you!! You were the first make up artist I started “following” when looking for help with oily skin. I’ve tried to watch others but there is just no one like you! You are such a treasure and so honest with us! No fluff from you and I love that about you! I also greatly appreciate your time that you take to actually teach us how to do make up and take care of our skin, not just videos of you putting make up on. Thank you thank you thank you!! ♥️♥️

    I’ve never watched a more informative video than this one. I now have a better understanding of what I’ve been doing wrong and need to do or not to do because you clearly explained everything so well. Please do a foundation and primer video. I would love to figure out which foundations work best with certain primers because I continue to struggle with finding a good primer that smooths out my complexion AND goes well underneath my foundation. Great job!

    So for ever now I have been trying to figure out what I was doing wrong with my make up to make it separate so much. I always wash my face when I take a shower to get either dead skin or make up off etc. I don’t exfoliate too many times I only exfoliate a few times a week and not every day. I always use a primer and I always moisturize the night before and not the day of. I use Toner’s, I use sprays, I sometimes use oils on my face with a roller. I do poor strips, I do facemasks, I even wax my face to get the peach fuzz hairs that I get on my cheeks off so that you can’t see that when I put on foundation. And up until this point I have literally watched so many videos about trying to figure out why my make up cracks and why it move so much and only until now after watching this video did I find out that there are water-based products and silicone-based products and that they don’t mix. So I googled my Holy grail foundation and my holy grail primer turns out one is silicone and one is water and now I know my problem so thank you so flipping much.

    My German grandmother who lived through 2 world wars , made a paste of very finely ground almonds mixed with any good oil and exfoliate with this paste. You can leave it on for awhile for extra hydration. This works beautifully and her skin was smooth and free of lines in her eighties. I do the same, I am sixty seven and my skin is amazingly youthful!

    Hey lady, looking at your pictures it looks like you have some seborrheic dermatitis. That’s treatable with a prescription called ketoconazole cream. You should get that from your dermatologist and see if it helps with the redness.
