I was originally going to buy the GK MB115-II. But the dealer I was going through didn't have any. So on Aug 26th I settled on the MB-210 II instead and so glad I did. More power than the MB115-II and an "Extension Out" for a passive cabinet as well as the "Chain out" for the self powered GK MBP series cabinets. That extra versatility in being able to use a passive cab along with a MBP self powered series cab is definitely a plus. I will eventually be getting a GK CX-210 series for the passive out, and a 115-MBP for the "Chain Out". Not that I need it, the MB-210 II alone handles a weekly gig and home practice just fine. As far as sound, I was a little worried the MB-210 wouldn't be able to push the lows enough to satisfy me. That has not been an issue at all. This is one great sounding and powerful little cabinet. GK has made a believer out of me.
One thing to add is that when the tone controls are at noon/straight up, there is a built in mid-scoop. According to the manual I believe it is somewhere around 2dB at each mid control.
Hello Norm very nice display of the GK 2x10 w/horn. Can.I purchased the 1x15 w/Horn Can . I'm very pleased with the New Cab .I mounted the Cab on stage 4Ft. Hi.Then plugged my system into D/I of the board.I was Well heard through the entire Venue.Outstanding product GK .I purchased the
Correct me if I"m wrong, but this mb 210 sounds deliciously different from the mb 212. Why is that? However, I'm trying to get a serious comparison between this mb 210 and the Ampeg ba 210. Any comments, please?
Hello Mr. Norm.I have a GK MB210 1st Gen. Lately, I have noticed that the sound isn't the same. The loudness was gone. It doesn't distort whatsoever but it wasn't as loud as before. Granted it was put into a storage for almost a year when I got mobilized. Please advice on how to properly fix the amp if ever you have encountered the same issue. Many thanks and more power.
I'm seriously considering buying this amp played one @ a GC & really dug it.Just wondering way on an amp this price they couldn't include a mute switch & a built in tuner. Not a deal breaker but that would have made it perfect...
Why is this the only GK mb combo with an ext speaker out? Why can't all the models with 200w+ have one? I hate that I can't use these awesome GK combos with my own speaker cabinet. They were already doing a face lift, why not add some speaker outs? Same problem I have with the new Blackstar Unity combos, and as far as I know, the only reason to offer a powered cabinet option is to force the consumer to buy GK or Blackstar products to enhance their rig. Not to mention that powered cabinets requires an external power source, whereas external speaker cabinets do not.
+amnesiac1975 only if using the di looking plug on the back and then you MUST use a GK MBP, however if you are referring to the speakon connector for external cab the answer is no.
hi I'm really on the doubt to buy an ampeg 210 or this gallien krueger 210 obviously same watts potential, I'm just not very sure of what I should get, I quite like both of them, just wanted to know your opinion, thanks
I have finally bought this combo! Best sounding bass equipment I've ever heard!

Norm always does the Best demos!!!

It is made in USA??
Very good sound brother. Using my $60 jbl head phones and it sounds like im in the same room. I will be watching many more of your reviews.

Nice clean sounding amp
Great review! Do you work in Radio? :)

Doesn't make sense. Just like there is no single 10" MBP cab for the MB110. All the models have matching cabs except these two.
Would the amp be able to stand up to a heavy-hitting drummer and still keep its tone relatively crisp?
I do have the amp and the answer is YES
I have one and paired it with the mb210 cab and it thumps.
This combo has neodymium speakers ?
Excuse me, I didn't understand (not good at English): must extension cab be GK?
amnesiac1975 no

" Direct out " fungsinya apa bos? Apa Bisa ke input power biasa?

+Jesus Mata the GK wins for me. It is more versatile, and wayy less heavy
Bombay?
Cant see a mic, so I guess this is DId?
Does anyone know if I could connect the GK cx410 cab to this amp?
As long as it's the 8ohm version and not the 4ohm, yes. The 4ohm would draw too much and could damage the amp. Hope this helps.
+jackybaby72 very helpful. Thank you
does someone know the guitar model he is using??
Fırat Cem Gürbey That's a MTD 535
I dislike that scooped tone
the scoop is honestly only slap
I like part of your video except way too much talking and We’re playing please I want to hear it
Sadly, controls on the back make this a no-no for me. When you can see the controls on stage? Forget it
They're on top of the amp
