Meeting Tara Strong on Fanmio - March 29th, 2020

Tara Strong lent her voice to Timmy Turner from the Fairly Odd Parents, Raven from Teen Titans plus Teen Titans Go!, Bubbles from the PowerPuff Girls, and more. They paid a visit to my session with her and boy, my inner child couldn’t be happier because they were the characters I was most familiar with growing up. It was one of those meet-and-greet sessions where I wish the event lasted longer, but maybe I’ll have better luck next time. :D “Bet you didn’t think you’d hear that in person, huh?” still remains my most memorable moment from meeting Strong to this day. She’s that cool.
Meals on Wheels is a non-profit organization whose mission is to deliver food to the elderly who couldn’t leave their homes. In March 2020, the number of people that tested positive for the coronavirus in the United States increased and non-essential businesses were shut down at the beginning of the month. Senior citizens are some of the most vulnerable to the disease and as a result, they began to rely on that organization now more than ever, but it remains underfunded because 84% of its budget comes from individual donations while only 3% is paid for by the government. Strong was raising money for this cause through this meet-and-greet on Fanmio and I was delighted to take this opportunity to help her out with her philanthropy. Sure, I was nervous during that session, but it was totally worthwhile. ^_^
