Me too buddy. However, I think there was a thing between wood and arlo. If I recall correctly, they were going to potentially do a podcast together and I think arlo backed out. I remember seeing an episode or two where wood seemed pretty salty towards arlo, but played it off jokingly.

I was served a video by RUclips of TotK clips and he was in the creator's comments for a video telling him that an article had used the creator's clip without citing the guy properly. He was being a good guy.
When he said that it reminded me of April Fool's Day where he ran the Nintendo hotline for the day and everyone who called was like "Wait this is real?"

I think the show would benefit with Wood rolling with the punches/hiccups of the show a little better rather than getting derailed from a toolbar showing up on the stream potentially for example. I don’t know what Wood and the producers dynamic is but to me it just puts me off from watching sometimes. Still love the show 🫡

I'm not the only one who noticed that huh... I feel like if I were to have called Austin out for being the "well actually" guy, people wouldn't take it so well, but he kind of was.
@@inspica380 you're not wrong but the more I watch the more I think wood is a really not nice guy irl. I feel like I can just see him seething underneath at guests like he hates them. Austin seems really smart and as a host wood should be more receptive and less argumentative. also weird how sarcastic he was about pokemon the whole time. Austin also stated he was going to try his best to answer questions without speculation while all wood does is speculate. the was like bashing pokemon like he would bash Mario with bob. its kinda weird

I wasn’t sure how to put it in words, but I came to see the comments to see if anyone else could, and this is probably it. And unlike the other commenters who classically try to blame one or the other, I think nobody is at blame. It just felt like the chemistry/connection with humor etc wasn’t completely in sync lol. But like you said, entertaining still
Entertaining but when you have one person passionate about Pokémon and another who could not care less... It can make for interesting convos but just felt like Wood kept shutting Austin down. Idk maybe I'm reading it too harshly. Felt odd when pokemon talk came. Up and like Wood expected Austin to tear things down. The Paris thing annoyed me. If he just let Austin speak I think he would have gotten that Pokemon stuff is influenced by real world events. So the Paris events can influence the next game... Instead we got "saying I'm going on tangents when you are hear talking about Paris Hahahaha" like come on man. Idk it was odd.

I don’t think many people in the west realize that the tcg live app and pc game was a west only thing and never released in Japan. and the new app is made by the Japanese company for a worldwide release
Wood has huge little brother energy in this and not in the good way.
This episode feels like a miss to me. Most of the episode was basically Austin trying to explain the direct and discuss pokemon, and then Wood just sarcastically being like "oh yeah, i know exactly what you mean". Just feels like Wood isn't engaged in the conversation whatsoever.
I feel like 48 minutes on is a clear example of this.

I kinda feel that Austin was being a bit rude the whole time to the team, ordering around and acting like it was his podcast. Maybe he's just a type A personality, but there is probably a more polite way to get your voice across. I like him in general on his channel, maybe he just need a bit more practice in the podcast scene. good episode regardless!
Really? Felt the exact opposite. Austin tried to get his point accross and was constantly interrupted with sarcastic remarks no taking anything he said seriously.

I really enjoyed this episode and loved seeing Austin John. He comes up very intelligent and wanting to speak from a place of intelligence, instead of rumors and internet speculation. At points it got a little too argumentative for me, mostly from Wood's side. Austin really carried this episode, and it was my favorite.
