I was there - a great but ultimately sad day. The spontaneous display of defiance on the ground after the final siren was fantastic but we all knew our days as the Roy's were numbered. If only the club could have harnessed that passion much earlier and kept us anchored closer to home in the near North in the 60s / 70s and early 80s. Nevertheless a great final win for our beloved RoyBoys.
Peter Mann was lucky not to be reported. but more astonishing is that he wasn't fixed up by a Fitzroy player. In my day he would have been stretchered off.

Brings tears to my eyes, love you Fitzroy
That ending looks like a country footy grand final
This looks so much like Carlton today now, how Fitzroy were back then

I fear my mad-cow is setting in because I can't recall which team Jarrod Molloy went on to play for. I'm desperate.
brisbane Lions initially but finished his career at Collingwood.

Liam Crofts The offical attendance was 5083, imagine if a melbournian team got that these days
Imagine if any team got that these days, they would be crucified.
